Yeah I did it fives all around. I can't find a fault in this beer; milk chocolate, mocha, black coffee, roasted malt, a little smoky, a nice bitter finish, and a creamy mouthfeel.

2016 The Fix from Elysian. 22oz bottle. This year's edition is 9.4% ABV and brewed with Theo's cocoa nibs (a local favorite for flavored chocolates here in Seattle) and Stumptown coffee (my personal favorite coffee roaster, from Portland). Beer is black, as expected, hinting at red in the edges. Forms an ample, chestnut brown head. Aroma is subtle but unmistakably of freshly ground, unbrewed coffee. The flavor brings forward more of the chocolate's sweetness, like that of an earthy 70%+ dark chocolate. And *none* of the alcohol. Really I don't even get a hint of ethanol burn here. Well done. As the beer finishes it brings in the familiar bitterness of black drip coffee. Roasted malt flavors play a supporting role. This beer is undoubtedly a stout, but first and foremost a mocha beer. Low carbonation gives a great mouthfeel whether cold from the fridge or as it warms.
Very good flavors. Very well executed in terms of balance, mouthfeel, and drinkability. Simple and good.

The beer pours black with a short tan head that dissipates quickly. The nose is rich chocolate. When you taste it coffee is the first impression followed by that deep, rich chocolate. It's definitely a chocolate lovers beer done well.

Poured from a bomber into a pint glass.
Look: Pours a very dark brown that looks pitch black in the glass, with a thin finger of a mocha brown head that leaves streaks of brown lacing.
Smell: Fresh, dark roasted coffee, think fresh burnt espresso beans, oat like mustiness, vanilla, and chocolate. A delightfully chocolatey-roasted-coffee dessert smell. So much like Founders Breakfast Stout. Absolutely delicious.
Taste: Milk chocolate and dark chocolate up front; roasted barley and caramel. Fresh roasted black coffee and milk sugar round out the finish. Think Founders Breakfast Stout meets Keegan Ales Joe Mama's Milk. Very nice. Roasty and robust.
Feel: Medium-full bodied; very drinkable, light carbonation, what you'd expect from an imperial stout.
Overall: A super good imperial coffee stout. I don't care that these guys are owned by Anheuser-Busch now, I would buy this again in a second. A delicious beer.

From the 27 oz bottle in a snifter. This nice stout pours a murky opaque
with light brown highlights and a moderate head of tan foam that settles to a
thin ring, thin subtle film, and displays some nice sudsy lacing. Nose of
cold pressed coffee, dark rich cocoa, subtle vanilla, and light char. Flavors
exceed the nose by bounds with heavy cold pressed coffee and heavy dark
chocolate with vanilla, char, and a touch of marshmallow creme' brulee with
hints of dark fruits with a moderate herbal hop bite on the finish mixing in with
moderately heavy char notes. Excellent mouth feel for the style; full body, light carbonation,
lightly slick, coating, and ending with a rich coffee and cocoa finish that lingers long.
Overall, a SOLID brew from a very good brewery.
Excellent!!
Cheers

Decadent desert nose. Like an espresso brownie I once had and still dream about. Taste along the same lines but not quite as memorable. Body could use a bit more heft.

22 ounce bottle poured into a snifter
A: Pours pitch black with not light coming through, tan colored head, no head retention, slight lacing, not much carbonation, looks pretty solid.
A: Dark roasted coffee, dark chocolate, some smoke, no alcohol on the nose, picking some hops on the nose.
T: Lots of coffee up front, in the middle, and in the aftertaste, dark roasted coffee, hint of chocolate, powdered chocolate, moderate amount of bitterness, finish has lots of coffee and a hint of chocolate, dry finish, ABV is well hidden.
M: Medium bodied mouthfeel, good amount of carbonation, dry finish.
O: I like coffee in my stouts but The Fix is a little out of balance, lots of coffee throughout, needs some more chocolate and roasty characteristics to balance it out, still a very good imperial stout, love the coffee notes but needs some more chocolate.

Poured into a tulip. The look is beautiful, a dark ominous look with little head. The smell is absolutely fantastic with dark chocolates malts and hints of tofee. The taste is fantastic and as good as it smells. The feel is the only thing that is not perfect. It is frothy and light especially for a high alcohol content. This beer was spectacular and I will definitely buy again

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque in the glass with a thin, dark khaki head that dissipates to patches, leaving light lacing. Aroma of cocoa, fresh brewed coffee and dark toasted malt. Flavor is chocolaty mocha coffee, vanilla, dark toasted malt, hints of char. Finishes with lingering cocoa, coffee and light hop bitterness. Wonderful creamy, medium to heavy body, nice mouth feel. Has everything I want in a coffee stout, with very nicely integrated chocolate and coffee and a pleasant, slightly smoky toasted malt body to support it. Mouth feel is excellent. Well rounded and flavorful. Elysian's Dragontooth was my go-to stout for many years; these guys know how to brew stouts and this is one of their better ones.
