Golden amber appearance with a small off white head and good lacing. Floral hops and dough pop up in the aroma. A mixed bag of hop flavors: resin, citrus and spice. Aftertaste has a mellow, bitter quality. Medium bodied, decently carbonated mouthfeel with a finish that lingers.

Great IPA. Floral notes, subtle malt flavors. Tastes like it’s not very strong but comes in over 6%. Taste develops. Somewhat sticky mouthfeel. Good lacing.

Pours an amber color with an orange tint with a small head and minimal lacing. Has a mild smell of grassy hops, and some pale malts, almost like a hoppy lager. However the taste isn't any more exciting than the smell. It actually tastes like someone took an IPA watered down and added a mildly unpleasant aftertaste, and the carbonation is also inline with being watered down.

Overall, this is something I would drink if I didn't have any better options, but there are so many better choices out there that I would not buy this again. Let's say I'm glad I got it in a mix and match 6.

Exceptionally drinkable IPA, so well balanced. I don't have a bad thing to say about it. No orange juice, lemon, grapefruit, passion fruit, or any of those other fruity tastes that have no place in good IPAs. The hops are only slightly spicy and piney, not overpowering in either department, and they make for an ultra-fine brew in this critic's opinion. This is a go-to, a beer to buy anytime you're on the fence and not sure what to get. The Immortal won't let you down. Big, honkin' kudos to Elysian for this one.

Mildly hazy copper body with a few delicate bubbles rising, soapy eggshell head that leaves only a few spots of lace. The nose is... unexpected. It's mostly the malts, which are raw and woody in nature, with only a mild glimpse of fruity or piney aspects. The hops represent themselves better on the palate, but still are surprising; they're mostly earthy, like loam or tree bark, with a dosage of piney sap on the finish. Apart from that, the grainy, bread crust-esque malts still loom large. The balance is here, but in an IPA that means it's not balanced. The body is full, slick like oil, perhaps undercarbonated.
This was not what I was expecting, for better and for worse. The earthiness was an uncommon focal point for an IPA, and while acceptable, didn't make for a hugely enjoyable brew when its main accompaniment was run-of-the-mill malts. There was more going on than just this, but not enough to make it very compelling.

Amber orange color with a thick off-white head with decent retention and leaving some laces.
Aroma with predominant notes of caramels, mild pine, tea and grapefruit.
Flavor with notes of grapefruit, pine, orange juice, lots of caramel, yeast, tea bags, a bit of white fruit and lemon rind. Dry and quite bitter aftertaste from its 62 IBUs.
Medium body with appropriate carbonation.
Beef up English IPA but still with mostly traditional notes of the style. More herbal than earthy. Although it has lots of caramel malt, it was packed with hops to counterbalance it.

A 12oz bottle with a label date of Sept 2017 - it doesn't specify whether this is a packaging or BB date so I will assume the former. Generously gifted to me as part of a secret santa beer swap. Described on the label as a Northwest take on a classic English style and loaded with New World hops.

A: Poured into an IPA glass. A bright orange-amber hue with slight suspended sediment and fantastic carbonation. Produces a large head of creamy white foam with good retention; this slowly reduces to a persistent surface layer. Nice lacing.

S: Aroma of spicy, grassy hops with hints of herbs, pine resin, weed, citrus rind, leafiness, hay, caramel malt and subtle ale yeast. Crisp and distinctive - very nice.

T: Tastes of intense herbal hops with notes of pine resin, dank weed, mild citrus peel, grass/hay, spice, leafiness, caramel malt, faint barley sugar and ale yeast. Slightly sweet, followed by a powerful hop-driven bitterness upon swallowing.

M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with lively carbonation and good body. Pretty astrigent; hop oils coat the tongue and dry the palate. Aftertaste of bitter aromatic hops, pine resin, grass/herbs, caramel malt and ale yeast.

O: Nice - punishingly bitter yet possesses a balance that makes it very drinkable. Looks great, while the aroma and flavour are stuffed with grassy, resinous hops, caramel malt and ale yeast. Lovely body. Packs a hoppy punch that goes down a treat. Well worth sampling if you have the chance.

I hate to write this review. I've quaffed my fare share of Elyssian brews at the brewery, stadium, and Capital Hill locations for years. I've drank them with friends who work at the Georgetown plant who swear nothing has changed.

I bought a six pick at the store and quickly looked at the packaging which stated Seattle and Fort Collins. It tastes like watered down shit but maybe I am overreacting about their buy out a few years ago.

Pours OK with some head. Smells better than Georgetown nearby. Good ABV. Some hops are there. All I tasted was water. Watered down wannabe craft beer like Sam Adams. All I can think of is English people making fun of American beer. Like I said, I love their stuff on tap. Is Space Dust their local beer while this junk gets brewed in Colorado?

Massive head and lotsa lacing over clear golden body.

Flavors are balanced, which surprised me given the northwest origins. Hops upfront with pine and citrus followed by bready malts and slight yeast.

Mouthfeel is thick, juicy and chewy. Really good.

Overall pretty awesome.

Poured from bottle into tulip, 2 finger cream colored head, recedes to a pool after a few minutes, great lacing. Amberish golden in the glass, would be clear, but I emptied the bottle, so there is some particles in suspension. Smells of sweet caramel malt and pine, lots of pine. Taste initially of sweet caramel malt, then flows into the pine, resinous, there is some small amount of citrus in the middle, and it finishes with a nice bitterness. Mouthfeel is good. Like a little malt forward IPA every now and then and this one delivers

Pours a clear gold with a nice white head. Smells of citrus, hops, and some malt. Tastes of slightly bitter hops, citrus, a little malt, and some dryness. Medium-light bodied with medium carbonation. Overall this is a good beer, just a little lacking in the flavor.

L: Medium golden pour with 2 fingers of white head. Fantastic lacing.

S: Citrus hops and fragrant herbs.

T/F: light malts give some sweetness. Relatively mild bitterness... good fruity/citrus and floral character. Bitterness mostly at the finish. Medium to light in body.

O: A very pleasant IPA. Nothing earth-shattering, but easy drinking and tasty. An IPA for people that aren't quite sure they like IPA's.

Smells malts, light citrus and floral.

Tastes pale malt, citrus peel and a light amount of floral. Plenty of bitterness. Finish is dry with a piney and citrus peel linger. Medium body and fizzy higher medium carbonation

Elysian is new in my area- this is the best beer I've tasted from so far.

Pours a clear copper color with a 4F head which takes a while to resolve.

Excellent aroma: malty, toffe.
The aroma transitions well to the taste. Toffee, sweet,

Pale, Munich, Crystal and Cara-hell Malts come through giving this beer a rich
smooth old world style., good head retention. It does remind me of a English beer.

Amarillo and centennial add citrus and a floral character.
Smooth finish- only light bitterness.

I will definitely buy again.

Appearance: poured out of a Crowler into a 20 oz mug. Medium copper color with very little head that dissipates very quickly with little lacing.

Smell: mostly malts and a little citrus.

Taste: I get malts and pines but I can't quite put my finger on the aftertaste I'm getting- it's almost a resin taste.

Feel: carbonation seems a little light but otherwise a crisp IPA.

Overall: I like this IPA. It's not in my top 10 but I would buy it again.

Poured into a half pint glass: color is straw, transparent, moderate effervescence, head is brighter white, fine bubbles, good lacing on the glass.

Smell is malt forward, with light toast and hint of caramel, then crisper fruity/lemon aroma with earthy aroma backing.

Taste is also malt forward: light toast, touch of caramel, similar to the aroma fruity/lemon flavors follow; hops are crisp, earthy, bitter.

Mouthfeel is a bit crisp and stronger bitterness than strength would leave to believe.

Overall a good beer, well hopped, cleanly fermented with moderate malt forward flavor and aroma.

Lots of hops but not too bitter. Really good...this brewery is consistently brewing well-crafted brew. Although I have only been able to try 3 of theirs.... living way out here in the sticks on Bass Lake in northern Indiana.
*** ADD ON I am now really appreciating this as it's my last one after getting a great deal(past dated but still good) on 2 cases for half the normal deal. Great after dinner brew as I am now enjoying.

L---Clear golden orange color. Nice white head with good retention and very good lacing.

S---Citrusy hops. A little bit of malts show up as well.

T---Citrus (grapefruit) with a balancing malty backbone. Hops are first, though.

F---Medium body, good carbonation. Alcohol not noticeable.

O---Very nice IPA. Wouldn't seek it out, but I wouldn't turn down another one either.

This beer pours a pale clear amber with an average head. The aroma has lots of pineapple with cedar, grapefruit, tangerine, and a hint of mango. The flavor features mild caramel malts, shifting to pine, bitter grapefruit, and a touch more caramel at the finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with a high level of fizzy carbonation.Overall this is very tasty - nothing special, but complex and drinkable.

Picked up at Downtown Crown in Gaithersburg. Beautiful head and lace above a cloudy golden body. Nose is various citrus with a touch of biscuit themed balance. Definitely hop forward, Solid start.

Pineapple inititiates and then gives way to pine. This is flavorful throughout. The bitterness isn't overpowering, and extends steadily through the finish. Texture holds up pretty well. You could do much worse if looking for a sessionable west coast IPA.
