Immortal IPA pours a hazy straw yellow with a massive, rocky head on top. The foam dissolves slowly leaving a netted pattern of lace on the glass. On the surface sits a thick blanket of foam all the way down to the bottom of the glass.

The aroma is rather faint with bready notes and some citrus hops. There's no date on the bottle so I'm starting to believe this is an old beer.

Each sip of this medium bodied beer is smooth and oily with mild carbonation. The flavor is niceliy balanced between sweet caramel malt and bready yeast plus lemon and orange citrus. It finishes with a flowery earthyness and mildly bitter. Once gone the lemon citrus and flowery flavor lingers on the palate.

This is a descent beer, but I think I have an old bottle. The hops seem faded, but still have enough flavor to balance the malt. I'd like to try this fresh some day.

150th Review!!! Picked up a replacement six-pack from LCBO after cardboard gave away and 4 bottle were destroyed int the parking garage.

Served cold into a pint glass.

Appearance - Clear golden / copper colored beer with tons of effervescent bubbles. 2.5 fingers if creamy mountainous white head and very good retention time. Good streaky lacing too.

Smell - Grapefruit and other citrus scents that are not overwhelming but sufficiently bold for my nose. Sweet caramel and toffee smells but subdued. Melds nicely with the aroma of grapefruit and hops. Also a few grassy notes there too.

Taste - Touch of tropical fruit maybe banana and melon before getting into the grapefruit taste. Some sweet caramel malts most pronounced in the middle of the sips. Also some pineapple perhaps. Quite tropical, in spirit but really it is just faint hints of these the grapefruit and malts are the stars here.

Mouthfeel - Smooth and refreshing, creamy feel, medium carbonation. Slight lasting burn / tingle in the back of the throat.

Overall - Very nice IPA, one of my preferred choices that i have any sort of access to here in Ontario. Very good representation of the style.

I had this beer in an airport (SeaTac), but it was so perfect I was disappointed that this would be my only encounter with it. Ah!- to be surrounded by such greatness! Lovely grapefruit and hoppiness, perfectly balanced. I am still dreaming of it, happiness in a glass.
