22oz bottle poured into glass.
This beer is black with a thin tan head. The smell is cinnamon with a hint of chocolate.
The cinnamon taste almost overwhelmes this beer. Chocolate and roasted barley are faintly present. The pumpkin however is not. This beer feels like a stout, but slightly spicy because of the cinnamon. Overall, if this beer wasn't called a pumpkin stout it would be alright. Too much cinnamon is used.

$4 bomber. Dark brown-black color with a 1/2 finger of head to start, thinning out to a small ring.

I'm getting aromas of pumpkin candy, candy corn, clove, brown sugar, toffee, cinnamon, and allspice. Very nice.

Flavor is not overly pumpkin-y, which can be a good thing depending on your preference. It's mostly earthy, coffee, vegetables, hot chocolate, with some mushy metallic pumpkin hanging out. A little underwhelming but nothing too far off the mark.

Feel is calm, creamy, mildly carbonated, with a roasty, sticky finish.

Overall, a decent Pumpkin stout - not as good as Wasatch's Black O' Lantern, definitely doesn't hold a candle to Punkacchino, or some other pumpkin choices out there, but it's still a decent seasonal.

Smooth with no aftertaste. One of the best pumpkin beers I've enjoyed. Nothing overpowering. Great body.

Bottle to goblet.

LOOK: Dark and thick. Big Brown-orange head.
AROMA: Nose is clove, cinnamon.
TASTE: is chocolaty, veggies, spice, brandy like finish. Touch of char. Very tasty. Yum.
FEEL: Tons of sediment which seem to coalesce into a gelatin. That’s a bit off-putting. But otherwise, this is excellent.

Really nice pumpkin stout.

stamped bottom left corner of the bottle - "pkg 09/03/14." This was poured into a tulip. The appearance was a nice dark brown close to black color with a slim finger’s worth of off white to tan foamy head. Light lacing traced around the glass in a slight foamy way. The smell started off with a decent strong cinnamon pop over top of a light silky smooth chocolate coated pumpkin spice. This followed through on the taste in a sweet sticky fashion. On the palate, this one runs over in a sweet to spicy and sticky cinnamon over my tongue. It’s about medium bodied with a good sipping quality about it. Overall, I say this was a pretty good pumpkin beer to have again, though not as stout like as I had wished for. Still worthy!

Black as night with no light penetration. There's a fingernail of creamy brown on top. The aroma is full of pumpkin, cinnamon, and dark chocolate. I'm tasting dark malt, pumpkin, and a light amount of chocolate. The mouth is lightly chewy and sticky.

22oz bottle from notes
10/20/15 – Stone IRS snifter

Pours dark as night can be with a smallish layer of espresso whipped foam. Some minimal amount of dotted stick decorates the glass.
Smell is of dark roasted malt, cocoa powder, light roast coffee, earthy with cinnamon accents and some accompanying pumpkin pie spice aromas. Not getting much actual gourd here but all in all it comes together nicely. The flavor blooms with initial cocoa powder and modest earthy charred coffee. The holiday spices assert with an emphasis on some Saigon cinnamon stick, then the lightly roasted pumpkin, and some more earthy roast flavors at the finish. There is a mild amount of spice bitterness on the palate and overall a nice creamy feel. A tad on the thinner side. I would love to see a more Imperialized version of this with a bit more robusto in the body but the flavors are still nice.
