This stout was way more chocolate-y than I imagined. The pumpkin flavor is there but it's overpowered by the chocolate notes. I also taste a bunch of the cinnamon too. Overall, quite an enjoyable stout to drink but don't expect a bunch of pumpkin.

22 oz bottle with a packaging date of 14 Sept. 2016 served in goblet. Pours essentially black with a modest size tan head that soon reduces to a ring. Near minimal lacing.

Delicious, bready aroma with cinnamon and faint signs of other spices. The flavor follows but does not have quite as much cinnamon as the aroma suggests. The flavor contains notes of cinnamon, brown bread, nutmeg, allspice, baked pumpkin, and brown sugar, with faint coffee and chocolate. Lightly sweet but neutral by the aftertaste.

Feel: full and creamy smooth body with excellent, soft medium+ carbonation.

Overall: a pleasant surprise, one of the best pumpkin beers I've had. Notably similar to the Buffalo's Black Pumpkin I had 2 nights ago, but more spicing and less bitterness.

Look: It pours black with a dark brown head that is quite frothy.

Smell: The initial aroma is sugary sweet. It has strong aromas of cinnamon, pumpkin, and roast.

Taste: It has a smoky, roast cinnamon and pumpkin tastes that are prominent. There are hints of fruity esters, a wee bit of chocolate, and slight spice.

Feel: It has a moderately-heavy body with a smooth creaminess to it. The finish is somewhat bittersweet with the roasted flavors being forward.

Overall, this is a roasted stout with enough that it gives the impression of smoke that highlights the cinnamon and pumpkin.

Poured from a 22 oz. bottle into a chalice.

Appearance: Pours midnight black with a moderate amount of bubbles. Slight finger of tan head that settles into a thin creamy layer.

Smell: A roasty and spicy aroma with a scent of pumpkin spice and chocolate. Big upfront scent of pumpkin spices with some cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, and allspice. Good hints of pumpkin. Roasted malt with hints of chocolate, coffee, toast, biscuit, and nuts with yeast. Subtle hints of earthy hops. A pretty nice aroma.

Taste: Like the smell hints at, a roasty and spicy taste with notes of pumpkin spice and chocolate. Upfront mix of pumpkin spice with notes of cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and clove. Some nice notes of pumpkin. Roasted malt with notes of chocolate, coffee, toast, biscuit, and nuts along with some yeast. Light earthy hop bitterness. A very good taste.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Creamy and smooth.

Overall: A very good Pumpkin Stout. Nice mix of pumpkin spices and roasty malt.

22 oz. bottle - packaged on 9/6/16:

Pours black with a light brown head. Lacing sticks. Resembles an espresso.

The smell is of cinnamon-spiced pumpernickel bread with baker's chocolate.

The taste is of semi-sweet chocolate pumpkin pie. Cinnamon stands out as the main spice. Some roast in the sweet and spicy finish.

It has a smooth, rich, full body.

Nice drinkability fora pumpkin ale.. Rich chocolate and spicy cinnamon linger. A well-done pumpkin/cinnamon spiced stout.

Paid nine and change for the bomber at Safeway in (west) Bremerton, WA.

Not one for these types of beers usually, but it was free. Dark beer with thin head that diminished quickly. Aroma is pumpkin, cinnamon, cocoa, and toasted malt. The flavor is similar with the spices, nutmeg, pumpkin, cinnamon and hints of coffee. Not much in the aftertaste, but nonetheless a flavorful treat for the season.
