APA is my favorite style. This one is original, and worth trying.

A: Pours a deep amber color, with a midsized off-white head that fades normally and leaves only a little lace.

S: The aroma is too faint. Some grassy hops, caramel malts and citrus. Grassy.

T: The taste follows the smell but is much more interesting, starts out honey sweet with a nice arc of sweet citrus, fresh flowers, and bitter piney hops.

F: The finish is lightly hoppy and slightly sweet, sticky.

O: Easy beer to enjoy, wish I had another.

I purchased this beer because I have had and enjoyed Elysian, in the past, and was drawn in by the awesome title.
Pours an amber orange color, not much head and a thin ringlike lace. Smells sweet with lots of caramel malts in the nose; also some biscuity malts. Initially the taste is sweet on the tongue, the caramel malts mirror the aroma. Soon enough though, the hops really come through. The bitterness is medium to low but has a bite to it. The hops flavor is floral and lemony. There is a bitterness in the finish and aftertaste that is a bit too much at times. The mouthfeel is medium. The carbonation is generally soft but has a crispness to it when cold. Pretty easy to drink.
Overall I'm glad I got this. It has some minor flaws in the aftertaste but is generally tasty.

2 of my all time favorite things, delicious craft brew & Sub Pop records. Ahhhh, I remember getting those lousy 7" records from the local record shop, throwing them on my old crappy turn table & having many beers with friends. Back when Red Hook was actually made in Seattle. Mudhoney(1 of my all time faves, who are still rockin today) grace the bottle label in awesome circa 89 fashion.

Loser Pale Ale. Brewed to celebrate 20 years of Sub Pop Records. What losers. I seeked this brew out via a trade after hearing about it. Unsure if Jack Endino was involved in the engineering of this brew. This brew was a limited release on marbled vinyl.

I threw on my old flannel, LOSER t shirt, ripped jeans, my AFGAN WHIG, docs & beanie, and found some SUNNY DAY REAL ESTATE for this tasting. Let's go. Come on down to GREEN RIVER, let's BOTTLE UP AND GO.

Pours a nice caramel color with frothy 1 finger head. Oh, SWEET OBLIVION does it look nice. I cant wait to GET INTO YOURS.

Big sweet malt aroma with a faint citrus hop presence that is HUNTED DOWN as well. Just a TAD though. I'm guessing that's no MALFUNKSHUN by the brewer.

Nice hop bite in the front before a tidal wave of sweet maltiness SPANKS THRU like a MURDER CITY DEVIL. Lingering hop bitterness that is DRY AS A BONE.

THE FLUID feels smooth, creamy, and more medium bodied than Chris Cornell's sexy hair.

Line em up BIG CHIEF. I could drink these all night long. Until I have a nice LOVE BUZZ. Or maybe until I THOWN UPS, or maybe until I'm DOUBLED OVER AGAIN, or RUNNING LOADED, or FLAT OUT FUCKED. All I know is that WHEN TOMORROW HITS, it will be a bummer.

I'd give my right MARK ARM for a couple more bottles of this stuff. Even Steve Turner and his Bad Ideas couldn't keep me from having more. This beer is HARDLY ART. MINUS 5 for not being available in Northern California, it's an UGLY SUNDAY for me.

Sorry for all that.

Got this bomber from a visit from a friend from WA. Thanks, Mike! I slipped this into my tumbler, so I'm not sure of head. Smells of malts and grains first, some floral hops, but a bit masked by the malt presence. Tastes like it smells too, but a bit more hop forward than what was expected, for a pale, and might really make this more in line with an IPA than anything else...but a good thing too, given the long sustain of the hops and terrific carbonation, mouthfeel and satisfying afterward. Might turn some off looking for a tamer ale, but I though this terrific and fresh and good!

12 oz bottle poured into a nonic glass.

L - medium-dark color with a hint of grapefruit pink. Not a whole lot of head and no lacing on the glass.

A - juicy grapefruit aroma with hint of pine. Toasted malts also

T - cross between juicy citrus and bitter pine. Slightly dark taste in the malt character. Kind of similar to strong IPAs.

F - bit of a slow-sipper. Medium body feel. Dry apple cider feel.

O - pretty sure this is a jab at their new business partner AB-INBEV. Very pretty tasty brew from Seattle's city limits and a cool tribute to Sub-Pop Records. This beer does not suck, despite the label.

Received as an extra in a trade with cannabanaceae. The beer pours a dark copper color with a reddish tint to it. The head is about an inch high and there's some nice lacing clinging to the sides of my pint glass. There is a mild citrus hop aroma and the malt smells of freshly baked bread and some caramel. The taste is initially bready, nutty malt, which segues into a surprising (and much welcome) hop bitterness. The alcohol is present but the 6.5% is understated. The finish is dry. Loser is well carbonated and medium bodied.

Appearance is an orange amber with a thin but still head leaving spotty lace. Aroma of rich bready malt that makes up the backbone, orange note with citric hops. Taste again has that big malt backbone with just right amount of hops to keep it interesting, leaving a light dry finish. Mouthfeel is medium with good carbonation. A good malt ale without being heavy and easy to drink.
