Had this at Elysian. This was pretty smooth, good for its style, but for me I like more bite.

09/11/13 On tap at Rattle n Hum, NYC. As luck would have it I found myself looking for a session beer for the Monday Night Football & stumbled on this joyous brew. Extremely well balanced & full bodied. Creamy but not buttery. I have a new friend. There was a loser this night, but it wasn't me.

Acquired via trade from Donkster46 so a big “Thank You” goes out to him. Poured from a 22oz bottle into a mug glass.

A: The beer is a deep amber color, with a large off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a spotty lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains grassy hops, caramelized malts and citrus.

T: The taste starts out sweet with a quick burst of hops bitterness that is quickly followed by sweet flavors of caramel and citrus. Then the piney hops presence returns as the sweetness fades some. The malt character is hearty but not too heavy and brings a good balance. The after-taste is slightly hoppy and slightly sweet.

M: Crisp and smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.

O: Tasty, goes down easily, not too filling, good kick, good representation of style, this is a very solid beer to drink for a long time.

Pours a dark amber with a large lasting off white head and good lacing. Aroma and Aroma is of caramel malt some earthy citrus hops, yeast and mildly fruity. Palate is a medium body, smooth mouth feel with good carbonation. Finishes with caramel malt sweetness, yeast, fruity citrus notes balanced by some earthy citrus hops bitterness. Overall a good, all around solid and enjoyable drinking Pale Ale.

Definitely not a loser. Great representation of what a pale ale should be!
