Poured from bottle into a pint glass

Appearance – The beer pours a hazy golden orange color with a one finger head of thick off white foam. The head has a great level of retention, slowly fading over time to leave a nice level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.

Smell – The aroma is big and bready with a strong doughy aroma mixed within. Along with these aromas comes some smells of a grainy nature as well as some sweetness of orange and harvest fruits. There is a little bit of a grassy and hay smell rounding it all out and giving a nice aroma overall.

Taste – The taste begins with a very doughy taste mixed with some flavors of harvest fruit and an orange sweetness. The bready stays very strong with the sweet changing a bit as the orange gets more potent and the harvest fruits get lighter. With these taste transitions comes some flavors of hay and grain at the very end, leaving one with a rather sweet and doughy taste to linger on the tongue.

Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is slightly thicker and chewier with a carbonation that is average. For the doughy and sweet taste the chewy feel is great and makes for a nice thick medium for the rich tastes to be sensed.

Overall – I really enjoyed this pale. It is very malty and thick for a pale, but very tasty none the less. An enjoyable brew overall.

2/20....pours dark copper rolling to amber. Light white foam. Nose has malts, oranges fruits citrus, all lighter. Slightly strong bitter to start, soapy, rinds. Some tropical notes. Fruit mellows out the bitter. Doesn't suck itself.

2-7-16 (22oz, Ventura CA) yeasty mushroom thingy in the nose but not so much in the taste, found it to be very consistent and a pretty solid pale ale overall
