Served in a snifter, beer is yellow and clear with almost no head, low carbonation, low retention, no lacing.

Beer smells like sweet malt, a little corn, some malt, no hops.

Beer is thin to medium in body and sweet, with a vegetal aftertaste, a little corny but not bad. Overall for a malt liquor is was quite drinkable, I somewhat enjoyed it but I'm not sure that I would do it again.

Always a lark when a craft brewer takes a stab at this 'style'.

This beer appears a clear medium golden colour, with one finger of soapy white head, which melts away quickly, leaving a few remaindered specks of lace. It smells of cornbread and leafy hops. The taste is hope-shattering up front - a silky alcohol edge, that flirts with gag-inducement, followed up by some sugary pale malt, and confused earthy hops. The carbonation is mild, the body only somewhat cloying in its tracksuit smoothness. It finishes sweet, more sugary corn overriding the booze echoes.

Actually quite grand for its ilk, but that's only saying so much.

The grandaddy of them all! Not the Rose Bowl, but the American malt liquor. One of the noblest of styles, requiring the use of advanced brewing techniques and astounding aggressive nomenclature.
Great to see this beer back in my life...How long has it been? 4-5 years? Pours with a very light head and a straw color. Smells of corn and barley, a whiff of the farmer's buttocks, the good soil, a faint touch of hop. It tastes much more than any malt liquor should.. only slightly sweet, a balanced hop finish, a very smooth delivery. It goes down too easy.
Try not to drink 3 of these with a flask of whiskey. It's only Tuesday.
