From 12 ounce bottle dated 29Aug16 into a snifter. A cloudy golden color with a small head. Strong hop aroma and almost a soapy taste that dissipates into a creamy hoppy flavor that goes down easy. Still not an IPA I would enjoy, but I'll keep trying.

This beer has a grapefruit (hoppy) flavor. The flavor is fresh and delicious for all NW IPA fans.

Reviewed from (long-standing) notes. Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a Cigar City Brewing goblet.

A: Hazy gold, with a half-finger of white head fading to spots of floating foam. Good visible carbonation.

S: Melon, dank, and resin, with lesser tropical fruit notes. Light biscuit malts. Not a huge aroma overall.

T: Resin, melon, and bitter citrus. Biscuit malts that add a good bit of sweetness and are more present than most "West Coast" IPAs, but no caramel flavor here. A significant bitterness with flavors of citrus rind and a touch of naked alpha bitterness in the hang.

M: Medium body to maybe a little lighter than average. Good carbonation sensation and average alcohol presence.

O: Not my favorite. It isn't awful or anything, but hop flavors seem low, and overwhelmed by the bitterness. This could use a different dry-hopping recipe I think. But it's not undrinkable by any stretch.

I find the aroma on this pedestrian at best. It holds the hop oil excess, stinky cheese like and a blah muddled presentation. The flavor on the other hand is quite good. This drinks wonderfully. While the hop flavors remain a bit muddled the overall experience of malt based, rich hop flavors, smooth yet prominent bitterness and full sticky feel is all quite wonderful. It captures the experience of a DIPA that I find most pleasing. Solid gold and enjoyably cloudy.

Picked up a single 12oz (Bottled Apr 10, 2017) to try... Poured into a SN IPA glass... Golden with a touch of copper... clear / no haze - frothy, two-finger head of eggshell white foam, which leaves considerable bands of sugary lace... Looks like a great IPA / DIPA. Smell is resinous, citrusy hops - but quite muted - doesn’t smell particularly fresh, despite being just over a month old. Taste is also a bit bland for a DIPA / 8% IPA... Some tropical fruit, muted like the aroma, and grapefruit. Bready malts on the finish with a bit of alcohol and a balanced hop bite. Mouthfeel is medium-full with fairly high carbonation. Overall, this is not the most interesting DIPA... Nothing really stands out, I guess. It’s good, but there are plenty of other options out there with much more character. Probably wouldn’t choose to have it again in the future.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle with a bottling date of Feb 26, 2017. Sampled more than 2 months later on May 13, 2017 and it showed.

The pour is a hazy orange-amber with a long lasting white foamy head.

The aroma was less about the herbal and fruity hops and more about the bready malts; again due to the age I expect,

The body was light to medium and reasonably smooth.

The taste was more of a malt bomb, unfortunately, due to its age although I did get some lingering hints of fruity and spicy hops. But it was more about the stale malts. I had hoped BA rating no. 3,100 would be more of a success. Oh well.
