A twelve ounce bottle dated 19DEC16 with the code DA17 following. Elysian was recently introduced to Indiana and I've heard great things about this beer.

Look- Pours a brilliant super transparent gold leaving a generous two fingers of creamy white lingering foam. Heavy lacing is left in it's wake.

Smell- Grapefruit, pine, malt and yeast.

Taste- Grapefruit, pine, orange zest and floral notes.

Feel- Resiny hop oil with a bitter crisp dry finish.

Overall- A stellar IPA that drinks like a DIPA even at 5 weeks old. The hefty 8.2% abv. is very well hidden. Being a hop head I'd love to try one off the bottling line! A fine example of the style that proves the great ones don't have to always be hazy. This will be a regular in my future beer purchases.

Space Dust pours a copper color with a small, long lasting, lacing head. Nice dry and floral aroma. Taste is bold, noticeable malt undertones, with a floral and dry finish. Good body . Overall, a little more balanced, but strong flavors, and good dry aftertaste.

Appearance: Hazy golden glass holds a solid cover of white the leaves heavy lacing on the glass.

Aroma: Hawaiian punch tropical fruits, melon, and a sharp bitter edge of lime peel and hop acids.

Taste: Heavy hop load comes across as somehow mild in the beginning. A little grassy, almost balanced until the sweet base drops away and leaves a deep bitter burn that encourages the next sip.

Mouthfeel: Medium body has a gritty carbonation and a hot, oily finish.

Overall: Hop monster. I like hop monsters so I'll be looking for another, but it starts to walk the line into "too much hops" even for me. Nicely made, clean, strangely balanced without getting heavy. I don't think the Citra is to my tastes, but there's enough going on that I'm giving a thumbs up.

Color is like fresh honey with a bit of haziness. Little to no head but the color of it is off white. Smell definitely has a strong hop presence. First taste was nice with a hint of the hops I smelled. Nice finish.

Crystal clear golden beer with a nice, thick, mostly white foamy head that leaves nearly a full curtain of lacing.

Nose is immediately bitter with onion, garlic and an almost funky, sulfur tainted earthiness. It all melds together to create that "dank" thing very nicely. A little bit of warming unlocked a citrus element as well.

Taste brings the citrus thing immediately to the front while following it up with garlic onion dank. Big-time bitterness throughout.

Finish is moderately dry with a big layer of bitter lingering on the tongue, like a pungent gossamer.

Pours pale almost green with a tall white head.

Floral, citrus, hops backed by slight malt notes.

Big citrus lemon and orange followed by bright floral notes backed by solid biscuit malt notes.

Pretty desperate for good IPA's on MN shelves, and this was around 2 weeks old at time of consumption. Yes I know we have Todd and Abrasive, but not willing to spend $20/ 4pack for some months-old stuff. Might have to start trading (but what could I send back??), or just wait until summer so I can try this WLP644 yeast. Anyway, onto this beer:

A -Pours out a bright, clear golden straw color with very faint carbonation.

S - Because of the low carb it's kind of hard to pick up on any aromas. If I inhale extremely deeply, I get faint notes of corn and pine, along with very faint grapefruit rind notes.

T - A bit more of the sweet corn which is a turn off (New Belgium's Rampant DIPA also has this problem), but more pronounced pine bitterness and citrus (grapefruit, orange pit, faint pineapple). Lots better than the nose!

M - Maybe if there were more carbonation it would smell better? Just a thought. It does add to the drinkability though, and the alcohol is not noticeable.

O - I've had better and had worse. Overall it is well-balanced, and the taste is the strong point of the beer - just enough bitterness to keep true hopheads happy, while not offending those who aren't. Considering the good value ($10/6er) I may buy some more of this.

Edit - I think my palate was ruined from eating spicy indian curry the first time I reviewed this. I picked up more citrus on the nose next time, and bumped it up to a 4 across the board. Decent stuff here.

I love a great IPA and this ranks as one of the best. Typically, I won't buy it since it is overpriced at the grocery store when compared to other very good IPA's. But when it's on sale I'll snag a six pack and savor the excellence of this fine IPA.
From the first sip of the fruity head to the bottom of the glass, this beer is a delight to drink. It's even better on tap but finding it is a huge challenge.
If you love IPA's as I do and you haven't tried this beer, do yourself a favor and find it. Even if it's not on sale, treat yourself to one of the better IPA's that you will ever drink.

I picked up a six pack of Elysian's Space Dust IPA a couple days ago at Meijers. I've been wanting to try this beer for a while and now that it's in Michigan I have to the chance to see what it's all about, so lets see how it goes. 2017 Vintage. Poured from a brown 12oz bottle into a IPA glass.

A- The label looks good, it has a nice design to it that goes well with the name and it makes it eye catching. It poured a slightly darker orange color that takes on more of a golden orange color when held to the light and it a finger and half worth of fluffy and slightly creamy off white head that died down to a thin ring that stayed till the end and it left some nice rings of patchy lacing behind. This is a good looking beer, I have no complaints.

S- The aroma starts off with a higher amount of medium sweetness with the hops being the first to show up and they impart some nice fruity aromas with some apricot and grapefruit aromas seeming to stick out the most and there's a little bit of a berry aroma along with some light green, dank and slightly floral hops aromas showing up in the background. Up next comes a slight bit of doughy yeast which goes into the malts which impart a pale malt, light grainy and sweet malt like aromas. This beer has a very nice aroma, I really like the hop aromas.

T- The taste seems to be similar to the aroma and it starts off with the hops still being the first to show up and they impart all the same aspects that it did in the aroma, but this time it's just slightly less fruity and a little more dank, green hop and resinous hop flavors coming through this time. Up next comes a slight bit of doughy yeast which is barely noticeable and it goes into the malts which impart all the same aspects that they did in the aroma, but they are a little lighter this time with the sweet malts seeming to the show up the most. On the finish there's lower amount of high bitterness that lingers a little and it has a fruity, dank and green hop like aftertaste. This is a good tasting beer, the hops dominate this beer and the hop profile is good.

M- Fairly smooth, slightly creamy, medium bodied with a higher amount of medium carbonation. The mouthfeel is good and it works well with this beer.

Overall I thought this was a good beer and a good example of the style, it had pretty much all the aspects I expect from a West Coast IPA and it really delivered when it came to the hops. This beer had nice drinkability, but one might be my limit, since the bitterness might start to wear on me after more than one. What I like the most about this beer is the aroma, it's very nice and it's the highlight of this beer. What I like the least about this beer is that the taste didn't have that same fruity intensity that the aroma did. I would buy this beer again and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good and fairly intense West Coast style IPA. All in all I was happy with this beer and it was pretty close to being just how I thought it would be and I can why so many people on the west coast like this beer. It's one of my new favorite beers from this brewery and it's a good example of the style. Good job guys, this is one tasty and intense IPA, keep it up.

On tap, outside at Super Bowl Live in Houston, served in a plastic beer cup. One upside to A-B's micro acquisitions: better beer selection at sports events. Hazy, orange gold with a nice, retained head of white foam. Nicely rounded aroma and tase of citrus (lemon and orange), tropical fruit and melon - great balance. Slight darkness creeps into the flavor; crisp herbal bitterness keeps everything clean. Smooth, medium body and boderate carbonation. ABV remains well hidden. A very solid IPA with really nice fruit notes.

Picked up a sixer of this IndIanapolis for $11...cheaper than I've seen it anywhere in Seattle area...where it's brewed. Anyway, this is what I think of immediately when I hear someone say "west coast IPA". A little to boozy to call it a session beer and not quite a DIPA. A truly fine brew.

Excellent IPA and Elysian beer. I love this one! Pours a great bold gold color with a very healthy head. There's a whole bouquet of fruit on the nose and taste. Nicely carbonated feel and a good bitter hop character. Truly a fruity, citrus, hop taste with a piney bitterness and a malty sweet resiny finish on the back end. A very drinkable IPA and the 8.2% is surprising. Excellent job Elysian Brewing Co!

Peachy golden color with nice head and lace.

Apricot, mango, passion fruit, papaya, and grass on the nose.

Nice Balance of dankness and fruit on the profile, but herbal sharp bitterness wins out. On the malt side of things, it's calm and buttery, with cracker and pale.

Feel is nicely carbonated, with a resiny finish.

Overall, on par with many $6 bombers we have. A steal at $11/sixer. Solid effort.

Solid, middle-of-the-road IPA. Solid malt backbone, lots of grapefruit and resin on the tongue, semi-strong bitter finish. Body is surprisingly robust and oily.

Pours a wonderful golden hue, with an inch or two of thick white head. The head falls to a thin cap, but it takes around five minutes to do so. Lacing is thick, coating the glass as I drink. This brew is completely clear, featuring lively carbonation crawling up the sides of the glass. The scent is sweet tangerine and bitter grapefruit and little else. It's fairly fragrant though, with helps make up for the simple scent.

Flavor starts off sweet, floral, grassy, and goes to bitter grapefruit. Once you swallow the bitter citrus continues up until the very end, where you get that sweet tangerine flavors. The after taste is bitter, grassy, and only lightly fruity. The hops completely covered up what ever the malt base was, but you still be the sweetness from it to help balance the beer out.

The beer is light, with high carbonation. It finished pretty dry, making you want to re wet your lips, but doing so makes matters worse. A good IPA, and one I'd revisit or order at a bar/pub.

I got a bottle at the Double Eagle in Decatur, IN. Very good IPA, bitter but not much citrus. No alcohol taste even though it's 8.2 percent. Crisp and clean finish.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle.

Pours a hazy golden orange color with a finger of bright white head. Has solid retention and leaves a little lacing.

The aroma brings notes of grapefruit and lemon, with touches of pine. Has some sweet malt on the back end.

The flavor has a fair amount of grapefruit and bitter pine, as well as some more subtle notes of lemon. Finishes lightly bready.

The feel is medium-bodied with moderate carbonation. The alcohol is well-hidden but there's an extraordinarily bitter and chalky lingering aftertaste, akin to chewing on a tablet of aspirin.

Overall, a solid, if uninspiring IPA. It's nicely bitter with plenty of malt presence, however the bitterness coats the mouth and refuses to let go. Otherwise, a pretty drinkable brew.

Poured from bottle to tulip. Hazy orange color, with a couple fingers of foam that settles to a white cap. Layers of lacing left behind. Aromas of tart citrus and pine resin. Taste follows, with bright citrus, pine, and caramel malt following up the rear. Bitter, dryish tea-like finish.

This immediately followed Uinta hop nosh. Space Dust is not as good. I like Elysian's Immortal IPA better as well.

Aroma is pine resin and caramel. Hazy yellow color. Smallish head. Taste is mild fruit. Pine, cedar, pine, a whole forest. Hard to describe, but only the unpleasant part of a woody taste. Middling. Go ’hawks.

Nice color, good flavor, strong in the hop category, decent malt backbone. Good carbonation, generally pleasing but nothing outstanding really. Probably one of Elysian's best efforts but then they don't have anything that would get a 5 star rating out of me. Totally drinkable, I could drink this whole 6 pack by myself tonight. In fact I just might.

12oz. bottle served in a Spiegelau IPA glass. 05DEC16 printed on the label. Pours a tawny gold with a slightly hazy clarity and a creamy, quarter inch, bright white head. Noses expresses citrus rind, a suggestion of mango and light malts. Taste is a bit medicinal with the addition of some piney notes towards the back. Mouthfeel is light-medium in body with an assertive carbonation that leaves a residual burns between quaffs and a light oiliness to the texture. Overall, this beer has a very well-hidden abv. The malt balance is pretty pleasant; however, the hops blend doesn't do too much for me. Not bad though - I'd definitely revisit it again; especially on-cask if the opportunity presented.

I started out liking this beer a lot but as I drank it went downhill. I love hoppy beers and all with a nice bitterness however, this was overly dry in the finish. Too dry for me. I had trouble finishing this beer due to the unpleasant taste it left in my mouth. I definitely will not be buying this beer again.
