Look: A medium golden hue with some haze and a nice two-finger white foam top. Nice lacing and retention.

Aroma: Pine, light citrus, and lots of grassy notes. Sweet malt more at the forefront than hops.

Taste: Really well balanced, some piney/citrus hops up front along with sweet malt.

Feel: Slightly resinous and sticky. Bitterness lingers a bit on the finish.

Hazed pale orange color with three fingers of thick and lasting off-white head that leaves impressive heavy rings of lacing. Modest aroma of pineapple, mango, a little pepper, water-cracker malt and a touch of yeast. Taste is only slightly more pronounced, with the flavors from the nose well blended and the peppery notes standing out the most. A little pine and floral hop flavor is detectable, too. There's a kiss of juicy sweetness coupled with a moderate hop bitterness, and a fairly clean finish. It's medium bodied, with a prickly edge to the mouthfeel. It's a pleasant all-around IPA, although what's lacking in big flavors isn't necessarily compensated for in fine-tuned balance or subtle complexities either.

A pretty clear gold color. Pretty good-sized white head with a bit of lace.
Mostly pine aroma, a little citrus. Strong malt background.
Taste followed the nose. Pine, a little grapefruit. Caramel malt.
Subdued hops, malt-forward.

12 oz. Bottle
PKG: 1/6/16

Pours a very nice clean/clear dark golden orange color, very nice carbonation, with a pretty nice small thick/creamy off-white head, which leaves some nice sticky lacing behind. The nose is hoppy, slightly malty, with some very nice citrus notes, slightly piney. The taste is hoppy, malty, very nice citrus, and pine notes. Medium body, ABV hidden pretty well. Overall, a very nice brew, surprised me.

12 oz can poured into snifter. 12/30/15

L. Nice golden color that is crystal clear with a nice light finger of head.
S. Not much smell on the nose. Light citrus and light pine.
T. Light hop and bitterness up front with some tropical fruit flavors mixed in. Bitterness comes back on the finish, but relatively short. Very clean finish.
F. Lighter mouth feel and very clean finish, I'd imagine they used some Pilsner malts.

Appearance - copper in color. Ok retention. Smell - zesty fruits and mild hops. Taste - follows the nose but the fruit flavors stand out more. Overall - good beer. Even if it was bought out. Girlfriend said it smells horrid and took a sip and her lips curled.

BOD 10/12/15. Clear light copper pour. Almost outstanding head volume, outstanding lacing and retention.

World class nose of orange, a bit of zest, pineapple, pear, mango/passion fruit and a hint of tangerine over biscuit with a touch of caramel.

Medium body with a rich smooth texture that is oily and slick with a touch of creaminess. Superb carbonation with a nice effervescent middle and a finely bubbled prickly finish.

The flavor profile is world class. It is perfectly balanced, very complex and hits just the right amount of intensity. It begins with a burst of blended hop flavor that leads with the sweeter notes (orange, pineapple, mango etc.) that flow into the harsher notes of tangerine zest and pine at the middle. Bitterness is on the light side of moderate and is perfectly balanced with biscuit and soft caramel. The finish is dry and has a touch of uncovered alcohol that is slightly astringent - but for a 8.2% IPA, this is masterfully constructed. The finish yields a final pop of sweet tropical hops that fade into a lingering bite of zest and pine.

Gold to light copper in color with just a touch of sediment. There's a quarter inch of bright white resting on top. Moderate lacing. Aroma is intense citrus hops along the lines of grapefruit. I taste a very bitter grapefruit bitter citrus hop flavor with some light Club cracker malt to back it up. The mouth is lightly syrupy and chewy.

Medium to deep golden in color and almost completely translucent, this is a pretty awesome looking pour. A medium sized head forms and retains very well, also leaving a ton of lacing. The scent of this one is mildy floral and fairly strongly piney. Just a hint of citrus is followed by a good dose of pine and cedar bitterness. The back end of the scent eludes to just a touch of balancing malt.

The taste follows the scent almost exactly. A mild bang of hops bitterness kicks off the drink with a bit of orange and other citrus flavors. Next comes stronger and more intense cedar and pine characteristics, which are really satisfying to my hop-craving palate. Light sweetness makes a brief appearance at the end of the drink. On the palate, this beer is surprisingly drinkable for the alcohol content.

Overall, this is a pretty great IPA. Great hops bitterness that is fairly balanced and incredibly easy to drink. Glad the distro is expanded!

Pours a hazy, maize color. 1/3 inch head of a white color. Good retention and great lacing. Smells of citrus hops, floral hops, hint of pine, alcohol, sweet malt, and slight resin. Fits the style of an American IPA. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of strong citrus hops, slight floral hops, hint of pine, slight resin, alcohol, and sweet malt. Overall, strong aroma and body, good blend, and good appearance.

The beer is light amber/orange in color with light carbonation and a thin creamy head on top. There is a citrusy smell of orange with a hint of grass. The flavor is a of citrus with a light bitter finish, very balanced flavor. The carbonation is present when drinking and the beer has a hearty feel. Overall the beer is very drinkable and enjoyable and fit well within the American IPA style.

Bottle poured into a BarrelHouse Brewing Co pint glass

A: Pours golden yellow with a frothy off white head that settles to a light layer and laces well.

S: Light tropical fruit, citrus zest, a bit grassy, and a little caramel sweetness.

T: Bright citrus, lemon, lime, grapefruit zest, tangerine, some tropical fruit, passion fruit, a bit grassy, pine, and a some caramel sweetness.

M: Medium body, moderate carbonation.

O: I've had this one on draft before but the keg must have been off because it was all citrus zest. Out of the bottle the tropical fruit really comes out. I'm a bit sad that for a beer named Space Dust they didn't use Galaxy hops, but oh well. Still tasty. Probably should be counted as a DIPA though.

Poured from the bomber into a snifter glass, no observable freshness date. Comes out a bright amber, clear, with a great head that leaves some lacing on the sides. Smell is tropical fruit with some grassy hoppiness, balanced malt bill. Taste is a little more malt than hops, starts chewy with a big fruit sweetness. Has some tropical fruit near the end and you get the hops finally punching through with the bitterness. Neutral mouthfeel, smooth, heavy in the stomach, but with no alcohol presence. Overall a nice DIPA, though I'm worried it might be old given the lackluster hop flavor.

Beer Review # 1,100!
Bottling date of 09/11/15

Appearance - Pours slightly hazy and orange in color with an off-white, finger width head. Fair retention, dissipating to a thin, broken layer of surface suds. Lacing consists of a few streaks with a handful of spots here and there.

Smell - Juicy orange with a bit of peel and a hint of bready sweetness.

Taste - Follows the nose. Hops come across as almost all orange in character, from juicy notes to bitter pith and peel, and is backed by a lesser amount of bready malt sweetness. A touch of grain peaks in as it warms. Finish lingers with that orange pith bitterness.

Mouthfeel - Medium in body with moderate carbonation. Dry finish.

Overall - Pretty good IPA here. It's not the smoothest or most flavorful, but it holds its own. Careful; that 8.2% doesn't come across in the beer at all!

Pours a hazy light orange with a thin white head. Lots of carbonation that sticks to the glass. Smells of a nice, citrus hop. The Bo is nice and piney with citrus notes. The malt makes a very balanced IPA. That balance leads to a great mouthfeel in which resin sticks around. Great effort with my first Elysian beer.

Awesome. Even better than the Immortal IPA, which is saying something. The 8.2% is nothing on a beer crafted by the Elysian masterminds. Well worth the extra dollar for an exceptional Seattle based IPA.
Honestly everything I want in an IPA.
Will come back and evaluate the qualities (since I know I will be buying this one again ; )

Also the label and name are amazing! The six pack cardboard has shiny!

Clear golden amber colored ale with a medium sized white colored head.

Smells fairly sweet with a citrus scent. Scent of sugar on grapefruit with some fresh cut pine board. Fainter scent of orange.

Starts out sweet and a bit savory. Noticeable chest warming. Flavors of citrus and peach. Slight taste of lemon. Medium level of bitterness.

Mouthfeel is good.

Overall a tasty IPA that probably should be listed as a DIPA.

This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was amber in color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within less than a minute. Some light speckled lacing clings to the glass nicely.
The smell starts off with juicy citrus and gets resinous and then has some melon along with sweet grass.
The taste was basically the same without the sweet grass. There's a lingering juicy resin in the aftertaste and finish.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a nice sessionability about it. Carbonation runs light
allowing the resin to be the force of the bitterness.
Overall, this was a pretty awesome AIPA that I'd have again even if AB/InBev owns the rights to it now. I'd have it again.

I love this beer. It was a bit better the first time it was released as a special release. I would give it a 5 if they hadn't sold to the big bad Beer Conglomerate.

22 oz poured into snifter bottled on 9/11

A: amber in color with a small soapy head that settles to a film fairly good clarity a little bit of haze

S: cantaloupe and honey dew a little grass

T: very much honeydew and cantaloupe with a nice sweetness and a little bit of peach flavor a little bit of bitterness and some crackery malts

M: a little syrupy too medium feel coats the tongue nicely and is very juicy

O: fantastic beer very reminiscent of White Rajah, but bigger bolder juicy cantaloupe flavor. This is something I would seek out very good beer. Not very balanced but its huge fruit flavors

22oz bottle with my FW Imperial Nonic Glass
Notes taken from 05/15/2015

A: Clear golden caramel color with a mass of khaki billow frothing out the top. Superior retention efforts here and tons of patchy lace left clinging to the glass. Looks clean and well crafted.

S: Pungent citrus and musky dank aroma. Actually getting a quite bit of Citra hops to this with hits of grapefruit zest, melon, gooseberry, and a dash of green onion. Then comes in the tropical passionfruit with a bit more dank spice at the finish.
Picking up some malt traits by way of biscuit and bread with a swirl caramel sweetness as well. Much more intense than I was expecting.

T: Taste is so damn juicy with an aggressive amount of bitters to it. Has a solid sharp hop bite. Bready malt abounds with a balancing touch of caramel sweets while still letting the hops run rampant. I get a vibrancy of tangerine with grapefruit, gooseberry, prickly pear, melon fruit, and an herbal spice dankness in the finish. This is damn tasty albeit bit aggressive on the palate with a touch of spice alcohol in the finish.

M: Moderate heft with a nice creamy feel of some creamy texture. There is a big resinous pucker and some alcohol warmth in the finish. Nice lingering astringency to this one.

D: Man I have been missing out with this one. Solid brew with a great abrasive hop profile and the proper malt base to stand up to it. Dare I say a thanks to AB/Inbev for bringing Elysian into SoCal? Will be on repeat here.

Drink this as fresh as possible!

Got ahold of a 3 week old bottle. Poured a beautiful, rich golden amber color. Very hop-forward with not a whole lot of malt going on - just how I prefer my IPA's. Smell's of citrus, grapefruit, tropical fruit with some floral notes as well.

Taste is very flavorful and intense. Basically a DIPA (especially with an ABV of over 8%). Nice pleasant bitterness on the backend with great hop character and grapefruit/lemony notes as well. Smooth and definitely doesn't drink like an 8.2% beer. Very dangerous.

A very well made beer, and probably my favorite Seattle IPA that's relatively easy to find.
