Superfuzz Blood Orange Pale Ale brewed by Elysian Brewing Company, with an ABV of 6.40% This American Pale Ale pours out a nice cloudy amber color with a nice white head. There is a decent amount of lacing to this brew, it sticks to the side of the glass well. The smell is rich with hop bitterness, earthy grains and malts. You also pick up a nice amount of citrus tart sweetness from the orange. There is a lot going on in Superfuzz Blood Orange Pale Ale. Now for the taste, it is Bold with flavors. You first pick up on a nice mild hop bitterness with some sweet citrus flavors. You also pick up on some nice earthy grains and malts in the taste of this American Pale Ale. The body is a nice medium. There is nothing overpowering about Superfuzz Blood Orange Pale Ale it has a super nice balance to it. It is really hard to pick up on the 6.40% ABV in this brew, it is just that smooth. The mouth feel of this brew is Bold, Smooth, Hoppy, Citrus and Refreshing. Overall I'm giving this brew a 4.25 out of 5. I would definitely look this brew up again giving the opportunity to. Elysian Brewing Company, did a real nice job with this brew.

Outstanding. Really solid APA with just the right balance of hops and blood orange.

A - Very cloudy sediment-rich pour. Not much head to speak of.
S - Orange peel of course, dry hoppy smell. Notes of pine and malt.
T - Light tropical/citrus hints. Quite bitter at the outset, mellows out as it warms.
M - Very light bodied, more so than I prefer for an APA. Clean finish and nice carbonation balance though.
O - This seemed like a run-of-the-mill blood orange APA (not that I've had any outstanding ones). I think the "blood orange" variant (for any brewer) is overplayed anyway, so this is just a "good" APA to drink on any occasion.

This one pours a very cloudy orange/golden color. The pour is extremely cloudy with particles of orange pulp floating in the beer. The head is rich and creamy with slow settling and mild lacing.

The nose is strong with pine, citrus, bread, cumin, rainy forest, and camphor.

The taste is powerfully a pale ale with a very strong bitter hop finish and citrus peel being very prevalent, camphor, eucalyptus, sweet malt, fructose and hops.

The mouthfeel is slightly more watery than I was expecting, but too much so.

Overall a very delicious and joyful beer, the citrus interacts with the hops to deliver a potent assault on the palate that is surprisingly clean in the finish. Yummy!

Well, this was an interesting experience...

From the floaty chunks in the orange-ish colored liquid to the slightly bitter aftertaste, this was probably one of the weirdest beers I have had in recollection. It actually tasted decent enough, but the rest of the brew was okay to marginal at best. I would be interested in trying Superfuzz with out the "blood orange" in it and floating around menacingly...

Had this on tap at Nick's Pub in St. Louis, MO. Hazy, orange color and tastes orange citrus and floral (?). Fairly sweet and light to medium body. Would drink again.

Elysian Superfuzz has a thick, off-white head of foam, an almost opaque, orange appearance, with lots of gray sediment chunks, throughout and moderately-heavy glass lacing. The aroma is of dry hops (oddly), white bread crust, and, perhaps, some orange notes. Taste is of all those elements, in a mixture, with remarkably-strong bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium to heavy, and Superfuzz finishes medium dry.

Love the color. Not blood but light orange and hazy...good look. Oh yea on the flavor, but you really get the blood orange in a good way before the hop bitterness kicks in. Like this pretty well. Well carbonated and medium in body for this brew.

Blood orange pale ale pours a light orange and amber color into the glass, solid 3/5" white head on the top. Aroma is citrus orange like and sweet, then you pick up a little bit of hops.

Taste was a much sweeter than average experience for a pale ale. The blood orange really is the driver flavor wise on this. The hops and bitterness to a lesser extent get lost in the shuffle. Its plenty drinkable but it also obscures the most pale ale parts of a beer. I like the label art. But other than that it is just another one of those fruited pale ales or ipas that just seems like it would be better without the fruit.

Basically they make these for non hop heads who still want to drink a pale ale I guess.

Light brown in color with a fingernail of dishwater white. Moderate lacing. The aroma is of faint blood orange. I'm tasting just a suggestion of blood orange with a quick citrus hop finish. The mouth is smooth and crisp.

Elysian's Summer seasonal beer is one of my favorites! Personal rating: 9/10

It is the perfect summer beer: refreshing but not too light in flavor. Not quite a perfect 10 for me, but dang close.

My favorite thing to do is mix this half and half with elysian space dust IPA

Picked up a sixer of bottles at Kroger.

A: Holy cow, there are little chunks of fruit. Small head, didn't last. Decent lacing. Pours orange, for sure. I don't know what to think about the little chunks. Kinda cool, so I am kicking the rating up a little.

S: Muted orange and floral. A little bread. A little pepper? I'd like a little more, but no real complaints.

T: Seems to get more of the sour part of the orange, not juicy. But there's little zest kick, either. It's just off a bit. Malt undertones. I think a bit more hops would be good, more Citra hops especially, but there's enough for IPA drinkers to like. A little aftertaste of that rind.

M: Sometimes you feel a little chunk on your tongue. Slick, not dry. I don't taste the alcohol as some other reviewers did.

O: I've had a couple different blood orange pale ales now, and maybe it is just me but it seems a difficult style to nail. There's better pale ales, and there are worse. It's a good taste for a hot day, and I am going to kick in a little rating bump for the chunks: as silly as this may seem, it makes it seem a little more crafty, and any chef knows appearance counts. I would drink again, would like to try some fresh from the tap.

Look: Orange coloring with some particles in the drink that really looked interesting as it was poured.
Smell: Smells a lot like oranges and more of them.
Taste: A very bitter orange flavor.
Feeling: Little alcohol felt here with a hefty amount of carbonation to it.
Overall: An enjoyable beer that reminded me of a glass of orange juice at breakfast.
