Our Belgian style RPA has an inviting deep tawny copper colour and a spicy nose from the hefty quantity of malted rye married with the estery profile of the imported Belgian yeast. Light bodied, fruity and spicy with a lingering crisp finish.

Had at Barnyard BBQ on Mill St. in Moncton. All their beers are served in Mason jars, a different touch than other places.
A- Deep amber color with orange highlights. The small off-white head dissipated quickly and left limited lacing.
S- Not much offered here. Just the malts and an oak profile.
T- Roasted malts and Rye came first and a caramel/toffee flavor finished it.
M- This beer was creamy and smooth to drink. It quickly made the tongue tingle before leaving the mouth bitter for about a minute.
D- I was pleased to find this was 6.5%. A pretty decent beer that was easy drink and enjoyable.

Tasted at the Pump House in March 2006. My friend lives about 2 blocks away from the Pump House in Moncton, and so late one night we walked down. The seasonal was this Rye Ale. A style I have not tried before, and certainly a style not attempted very frequently here in Canada. It was nice to see the province of New Brunswick(lesser known for being craft beer rich in Canada) trying this unique style. The beer is a cloudy orange-copper colour, with a minimal cream-white head. Very nice colouration. The aroma is extremely sweet and buttery. Some smokiness is present too. The taste is also sweet and very salty, like seasoning salt. The body is definitely full, and the carbonation medium. The malts are smoky, and the hops barely detectable. The taste is quite different from other styles of beer, and this is a beer I could drink happily all night. It is rich, but drinkable. Cheers to the Pump House for brewing this style.
