Came in a standard pint a clear brass color with with a thinner white head atop.Leafy/herbal hops stood out in the nose along with some biscuit malts, very soft aromas but appetizing.A nice cramier feel wich may have come from the oats used.Pretty standard flavors of mild fruity and herbal hops mixed in with doughy malt.Easy drinking for the size, not bad.

12 oz bottle. Pours amber with tall, long-lasting, fluffy white head. Aroma is of herbal hops and pale malt, some sourness. Body is medium and crisp. Herbal, earthy hops dominate the palate, while pale malt and spicy yeast provide support. Finish is long and earthy. Drinkable, average PA.

I wish I were more eloquent, so I could praise this beer in proper fashion. As it is, I can only offer my limited store of adjectives. I love a good pale ale and when I saw this "oatmeal" pale ale, I had to try it. I'm so glad I did! What a delightful combination. Malt, hops and oatmeal in good balance, with each well represented. The oatmeal hits you first, then the hops right after. The malt comes in last, right before a little lingering hop bitterness. All around, very drinkable. Nose is fairly sweet, not really giving away the complex flavor that awaits. But an excellent offering from my local brewer.

Poured from bottle into a pint glass

Appearance – The beer pours a clear golden amber color with a one finger head of fizzy white foam. The head fades very fast leaving almost no lace on the sides of the glass.

Smell – The aroma of the beer is light overall. Its heaviest smells are those of a lightly toasted malt smell and some caramel along with some lighter aromas of fruity nature with some peach, apple, and pear. A very light oatmeal smell and a bit of a hop smell of an herbal and earthy aroma are there as well in the background.

Taste – The taste begins with a rather toasted malt flavor bill and a good showing of a caramel sweetness. While caramel is the sweeter flavor upfront, this flavor fades some as the taste advances being replaced by fruit flavors of peach, apricot, and pear. All the while, a bit of a toasted oat and oatmeal cookie like flavor come to the tongue. Toward the middle to the end, a surprisingly large amount of hops come to the tongue with them being almost entirely of an earthy and herbal nature. These hops blend nicely with the oat and toasted malt flavors of the beer to create a rather pleasant hoppy toasted oat flavor to linger on the tongue.

Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the thicker and creamier side with a carbonation level that is on the lower side. The lower carbonation and thicker body are quite nice for the blend of toasted, oatmeal and hop flavors of the brew and make for a nice creamy feel for the flavors to sit upon.

Overall – A rather interesting and rather tasty brew. A nice combination of hops and creamy pale ale. Quite tasty.
