Pours a clear bright gold body with a smallish white head that is held aloft for a long time by highly active carbonation that gives the whole beer a very lively appearance. Aromas and and taste are perfectly aligned: predominantly grainy (but nearly as "wheaty" as the average hefeweizen) with very gentle hops. Lightly sweet, but overall just not very interesting to dissect. Its strongest point is its texture, which starts off tingly before breaking into a creamier mass of bubbles.

This is a nice beer. Not overpowering in any area. You can drink more then one of these. This beer would probably appeal to a lady who is not into the fuller flavor and cloudiness of many Weiss biers.

Pours a real nice head long lasting lightly tan colored head. Clear rich gold color to the beer itself. Soft wheat and malt smell, clean and light. Flavor light but fills the mouth, very balanced, wheat little fruit, a little body, not heavy, feels nice in the mouth. No after taste.

Refreshing.

Traditional hefe appearance just nice and clear as advertised. Lots of grass with banana in the taste and nose.

Pours a very clear medium yellow color with a huge, foamy white head that takes about 3 or 4 minutes to fade enough to pour more, leaving tons of lacing on the glass. Excellent looking kristalweizen.

Smell is bananas, nougat, cloves, cinnamon bread and some of that pre-sweetened coconut shavings. Has a grainy nose to it that I have not found in any other kristals, or hefes for that matter.

Wheat and malt flavors outduel the yeasty esters in this beer for the most part. Cloves are the foremost yeast derivative on my buds and has a bit more spiciness than some other versions. I like this one quite a bit, but not as much as the Weihenstephaner Kristalweissbier.

clear honey gold colored, with a thick white head that settles to a film.
it's got a soft aroma, but has plenty to offer. it's a got a bready banana clove smell, with some other spicy components. i find a little bit of sweet lemon too. a little grainy.
the taste is like a very clean hefe. grainy banana and clove round it out. the bread doesn't make the showing in the flavor to the same degree as the aroma. a little undefined bitterness at the finish shortens it up.
the body is fairly light with soft delicate carbonation, very suiting of the beer.
drinkability is good, it's very quenching and disappears pretty quickly. overall, seems to be pretty spot on for a somewhat lackluster style.

Pours a very nice clear golden color with great initial head, that rapidly diminishes to almost nothing, and a little bit of lacing, not bad for a wheat beer.

It has a subtle aroma, very nice, very malty and sweet, with slight fruity/sugary tones to it.

Very nice taste, a crisp and clean, well balanced beer with the types of grain used. A very nice, light hint of banana-clove, just enough to taste.

This is a near smooth and sweet tasting beer, very refreshing. It would be great to cool down with.

Appearance: Pale golden color, typical of a kristalweizen with a nice frothy-ish head that has decent retention. Looks like the style. Good so far.

Aroma: Mild aroma..banana, cloves, some lemon. A pretty soft aroma really. Expected from this style

Taste: Pretty light, some lemon, some banana and cloves. Much milder than the hefe version, as it should be.

Mouthfeel: Clean, nice carbonation lending itself to crispness. Goes down well.

Drinkability: Good, considering the style. Light and refreshing.

Overall, I would prefer the Weihenstephaner version over this one, which is much softer on the palate. This one is still pretty good though

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 1pt 0.9oz bottle into a weizen glass. The bottle has a freshness date but no abv%.

Appearance: The body is clear, golden yellow in color and toped off with a tall loosely packed head. Most of the larger bubbles settle out quickly leaving a thin creamy covering. This holds on well and makes some slick lacing which slides right down the glass as I drink.

Smell: Its nose is lighter than most wheat beers but offers some mild fruity wheat with light notes of clove, banana and hop spice.

Taste/Palate: The flavor starts with a base of light grain and wheat mixed with mild notes of clove and fruity yeast. There is only a slight banana note and mild sweetness. Hops add a nice floral spice and crisp dryness to the neutral finish. On the tongue it has a fairly crisp light feel with balanced carbonation.

Notes: Its very drinkable with good clean wheat beer flavor.

Poured from a 16.9oz bottle into a weizen glass.

A: The beer is a light gold color, with a large white head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.

S: The aroma is of wheat, lemon, light malts, some spice and a little bit of hops.

T: The taste starts with a light wheat flavor up front and some background flavors of lemon and spice. There's a light malt character that brings in a mild sweetness. The hops presence is also mild but provides a good balance. However, there is a little bit of a metallic bite that sneaks in occasionally. The after-taste is slightly bready and slightly sweet.

M: Smooth and very crisp, light body, medium carbonation, finish is very clean.

D: Tasty, goes down easily, not filling at all, decent kick, very good representation of style, this is good beer to drink for a long time especially if you're in the mood for something light that still has some substance to it.

Pours a deep golden colour, kristall clear, with a large amount of big-bubbling carbonation. Head is frothy, but rather flat. No rockiness, and although it retains rather well, it doesn't have the tension to retain its shape. Looks like a decent enough Kristalweizen, and I really enjoy watching the carbonation in the style.

Light spicy notes on the nose, clove being dominant, with a bit of earthy pepperiness, and a slightly rank odour . Nice enough, but there's some odd characters to it.

Taste lifts this to a better level. Crisp wheat notes, and a light spice, but with a clear sweetness on the back. Finish is a very slightly metallic, but it adds a slight crispness that clears the palate nicely. Feel is classic for a kristal, smooth and soft for the most part, with just a crispness on the end.

A good kristal, a style which is often overshadowed by its more favoured sister style, the Hefeweizen. This doesn't quite show it off to its full potential, but it's a clean, refreshing and drinkable beer nonetheless. Good stuff.

Picked this up at the Oak Barrel in Hagerstown. Decent looking beer that lives up to the Kristall, pristine looking. Not much to offer to the nose but very tasty, not special but tasty and very smooth. Overall a pretty strong offering that I will gladly have again but not one I will be Jonesing for.

.5L Euro bottle with a clearly marked freshness date.

Clear and golden with a nice head of white frothiness atop.

Lots of grainy wheat and warm bread notes with a cutting lemongrass hoppiness and very mild yeast-derived notes of vanilla and clove. Clean and flavorful. Could be mistaken for a well-made German lager if not for the distinctive wheatiness.

An easy drinker to start the day off.

1 pint, 0.9 oz bottle poured into a Weizen glass.

A = Very clear, golden yellow, large white head with good retention, lots of medium and small carbonation bubbles.

S = Crisp light scents of fresh grains, light fruits bananas, lemons, and light hops, as it warms gets some more yeast phenols showing through. Pleasant smells, but too subdued.

T = Very refreshing, lemon tastes blend with white toast, very subdued banana pudding in the background, subdued but present yeast phenols show up mid-palate, nice dry finish.

M = Medium-light body, good mouthcoating, good amount of carbonation.

D = Very easy drinking and refreshing. Good drinkability, especially on a hot Summer day.

From an Erdinger five bottle gift set which came with the glass I used to drink this. Not 100% sure this is the same beer others have reviewed here, the silver-colored label reads "Weizen/Kristall" all in large script lettering on two lines, while the small middle strip label is blue and reads "Prickelnd Frischer/Weissbiergenuss." The beer itself was a darker gold than other reviews have noted.

Poured into an Erdinger Weissbier glass from the 16.9 oz. bottle.

a: Deep clear gold with a tall white head which dissipated slowly to thin surface foam and spotty lacing.

t: Wheat malt well balanced. Went well with oven baked chicken dinner.

m: Medium, more body than most weissbiers, perhaps from Crystal malting if that's what "Kristall" refers to rather than simply the clarity.

o: Exceptional and enjoyable to the end.

Presentation: 0.5l bottle purchased and consumed in Berlin, Germany. Freshness date. "Die Prickelnde Frische" = "No Yeast For You" on the label, which is important to note.

Appearance: Poured into a proper Erdinger Weisbbier glass, it produced a crystal clear golden beer with a thick white foam head -- awesome stick and stay!

Smell: Clean overall, with light aromas of steel and grain. Mention of spice.

Taste: An even, medium body. Soft malt flavours and sweetness cradle a subdued fruity character. Very faint banana. Thin floral hop flavour with a citrus edge and touch of spice. Mineral character throughout the beer. Finish fades into a palatable dryness.

Notes: A helluva beer, and spot on for the style. A clean, clear, tasty and very drinkable wheat beer. Exactly what it should be.

Appearance: Pours head head. Crazy head. The beer poured as almost all head. I filled my large Weizen glass -- and waited -- but the meringue thick white head had the same retention of my Grandmothers pies. It never went down. Finally I set my glass in the sink and just poured the rest of the 16.9 oz bottle into the glass letting the head run over and down the drain. Big head is good but this was nuts. Oh yeah, when I could see beer it was a clear golden color.

Smell: Pale malts a hint of wheat and grass and a pinch of banana and fruit squeeze through the overall clean aroma.

Taste: This is a simple drinkable beer. The banana cloves and yeast are all present and yet it is reserved and clean. I am new to the Kristal Weizen style. This one is a clean and easy as a lager. Maybe that is the signature of this style of Weizen. This one seemed to have a Mia/Bock Dortmunder - esque quality about it. nice.

Mouthfeel: Smooth and slick and very malty medium body with a clean finish.

Drinkability: This is an easy chugger beer. Refreshing and guzzelable, it was a perfect beer after 13 hours of construction work today. Goodness it went down fast and easy.

Hope this is helpful.
Cheers!

This was poured into a weizen glass.
The appearance was a fairly clear, pale golden yellow color, with about a three finger puffy white foamy head. After the head dissipates, there's some stringy lacing sliding into the beer nicely.
The smell starts off with a bready sweetness and lets in some of the typical "bubblegum" notes of a krystalweizen. Banana esters become faint with light cracker details, and is somewhat wheaty.
The taste was mainly sweet through the previously mentioned flavors adding a light earthy to semi-grassy hop bite closer to the aftertaste. There's a light sweet wet finish.
The mouthfeel sat about a light on the body with a nice smooth carbonation running about.
Overall, as a krystalweizen, it works, but I think I'd rather go for a Weihenstephaner one first.
