Trying to find beer stops on the way back from Hartford to Providence that might have different offerings from what we get in Rhode Island, I checked BeerFly and found the Oxford Liquor Shoppe.

I was a little worried as I pulled up, given that the most recent review of this place was almost 3 years old and the outside looked a little dilapidated. But the truth is that this place is a gem!

I'm not sure if the ownership has changed since the previous reviews, but Travis who was stocking the beer shelves was helpful and offered up some beers he hadn't brought out from the back yet. He also helped me steer clear of a mistaken beer identity (Bad Elf is not Mad Elf!).

Given the overall size of the shop (fairly small), I was impressed with the diversity of beers that were packed in to the craft beer section. Looks like this is going to have to be a regular stop-in for me!

Been living in Manchester almost my whole life especially o n the 384 side. Always had to come out to Buckland to find some decent wine or beer. I guess there's a new ownership, really nice people and the beer is OUTSTANDING! Six point , clown shoes , Ghandi bot, every Belgian and trappist beer, rochefort, chimay, orval, gouze, st bernardus 12, for the hop heads they have even more, stone limited release 420, larrys, high resin, bakyahd, just to name a few.

I have been coming here for years. They introduced me to G'knight which in turn started this hobby. Ironically they don't turn over the higher quality beers like stone, Oskar blues, blue point, founders so they can be slightly old. they do have belgions (no ours I think).

I stopped here looking for east coast beers to take back to Ohio. It sounds like most of what I was after is available here but not all year long (various beers from Southampton, Hooker, etc). Too bad, but the guy running the store was really helpful and allowed me to buy singles of other beers instead of trying to lug 6-packs onto a plane. I was happy to get Smuttynose and a Hooker IPA for my troubles.

The beers I saw include Chimay, Rogue, Hooker (several), Southampton (porter), DFH, and maybe 50 other breweries to choose from.

Overall opinion: Friendly staff and reasonable selection make this a good stop.

Little store right off 384 Keeney St. exit. Now crammed with the Dunkin Donuts next doorI pass by it every work day and somehow neglected it as a source for nearly four years. They have a decent selection, in proportion to their size, of beers. Keeping a lot of local mixers in stock, a few 750s of various less common beers from Southampton, Rogue, Japan, Chimay, etc. And reasonable prices on everything. The few guys who work their are helpful and run a tight ship. They're chatty and happy to share new ideas and places with you.

Oxford liquors is a great little shop a few miles from me, and more importantly, on my way home from work. This may or may not make me stop more often. This place though small, has a much better selection than most bigger shops in the area. Chances are also that you will be buying fresh beer, as well as good beer. These guys seem to care about your purchase and even love to talk shop. I've been offerered help on what to buy based on weather-seasons, whats new, etc. Good job, all around. Hope their business grows.

The Oxford Liquors is a small shop just up the street from me, but not to be overlooked. They have an excellent selection of beer year round and always a great selection of seasonals and special brews. Very good support for any local and Northeast brews in this store. The staff is also very helpful in lettign you know what's coming in, just ask. Prices are actually very reasonable for a modest liquor store, and actually better that a couple of the other larger package stores in the area. Located just off I-384 at the Keeney Street exit, worth the stop!
