Appearance A saturated orange golden yellow pour with a two finger bright white cap leaving frothy and airy lace sliding down the sides of the glass.

Smell My nostrils are filled with a rich and light malt note but also butter and bread undertones.

Taste This pilsner taste buttery, sweet and has light but distinct flavoring hops. I notice citrus and a hint of metallic as well. A hoppy bitterness comes after a while and stays on thorough the aftertaste.

Mouthfeel It feels like a rock solid pilsner this one, a whole lot more of a body than I’m used to when drinking pils. So I’d place the mouthfeel somewhere between heavy light to light medium. It also has a round and oily style. Packed with an evil but nice fizz.

Overall It’s one of those classic last-summer-day-of-the-year atmospheric evenings in Stockholm. It’s also Friday so people tend to get off work a bit earlier and wind down in time for the weekend. My family, a couple of friends and myself decided to meet up at Babylon Bar in the center of town. The bar’s owned by a family that operate a few Czech influenced restaurants and bars so naturally I felt inclined to order something Czech off the beer menu. Sitting in the sun in the outdoor section of the place I really wanted something mellow and easy and the pils was therefore the perfect match. A traditional and well crafted old-world pilsner from the heart of the Czech republic. Na zdraví!

The beer pours the archetypal limpid golden yellow color with the stereotypical bright white and large spumous head, and as it desiccates the lace a forms a fine covering upon the glass. Nose is thee quintessential lager nose, malt that is somewhat sweet, citrus crisp and clean, the prototypical lager start that is nicely malted and lightly sweet, top is fair to middling in feel. Finish is almost astringent in its carbonation with the hops apropos to the style and the aftertaste dry and lingering, in all honesty one of the better lagers I have sampled.

This rich, golden beer pours with a thick, snow white head that ever so slowly fades to a layer of white film atop the very slightly hazy liquid, while leaving a nice lacing on the glass. The aroma is slightly bready, with pepper and lemon notes, and a malt character to it as well. The taste is rather sweet, with notes of lemon and pepper, almost to a point of sourness. Very unique. The finish is fairly crisp, with the citric tartness lingering behind. The mouthfeel is very full and satisfying, and supports the sweetness of the beer well. The drinkability suffers a little from the sweetness, a little from the tartness. This beer almost seems like a cross between a dortmunder lager and a weizen of some sort. While cetainly not one of my favorites, I'm glad I experienced this beer.

Had in a pint glass from a 500ml. Is a pleasant yellow with a thick white head. Has a malty smell, grassy and yeasty.

Relatively smooth taste, like a typical European lager. Decent, but in an already crouded genre, there are better choices. Probably won't find it in my fridge again.

A malty, metallic Bohemian pilsener, pouring a slightly tarnished brassy color with decent head, leaving stagnant pools of foam and minimal lacing. Strong malty aroma with elements of bread crust, cracker, and vague boiled vegetables. The beer goes down quite easily, with a generous sweetness from the malts balanced by typical pilsner hoppage: heavily herbal, a bit of grass, and maybe even a twinge of black licorice. A large gulp reveals a sharpness and slight sourness that is most likely the result of time and travel. Hops taste slightly stale but I am inclined to hold that against the importer, distributor, and vendor, rather than the brewery. Easily avoided by taking smaller sips and revelling in the malty qualities up front. Mouthfeel thin and refreshing; drinkability decent if not through the roof.

Barely copper colour with little carbonation, filtered with 2 fingers of yellowish white head.

Fresh hay and malt, smells like my gerbils' straw he slept in, or even more so the fodder our chickens lived in, seriously and this is not a criticism, just my honesty. Slight honey, honey biscuit.

Honey biscuit, fresh cut hay, slight fodder, malt, light sweetness.

Light body with a slightly syrupy consistency, subtle foamy carbonation.

A fair one for the style, but hey they should have this one down as its their local brew. Drank in Chiang Mai June 19th, 2015.

Out of the Czech republic. Golden in color, fluffy white head, not very consistant. The flavor from this beer (and also the smell) is a pretty malty one. Very slight hop bitterness.

This one is brewed in accordance with the german purity laws. Of the other beers that i have had that also comply (the green monsters) this is probably one of the better ones. Not as generic as some other european brews ive had, pretty decent.

500 mL brown bottle poured into a pint glass.

A: golden-yellow beer with a very thick and rich foamy head of off-white (mostly white). Beer underneath has complete clarity.

S: for some reason I always get lentil/legune/sprout scents in pilsners, and this is no different here; mixed with sweet grains.

T: Creamy and smooth though not as sweet as some Czech pilsners I've tried.

M: Very smooth, rich, creamy.

D: A nice pilsner that I had not tried, nor even heard of until a friend brought one round the house. Glad he did!

My bottle was a "boy beer", meaning it foamed out the top when it opened. This may have reduced the aroma when I did pour it, or else it just doesn't have much of one. What I could detect was more malt than hops. It did have a nice clear dark golden color and a big foamy head. A smooth malty quality predominates the flavor with a backing of hops. I usually think of the opposite with Czech beers. The hops quality is light and in the short finish. The mouthfeel was smooth and rich, but a little flat, possibly from the issue when opened. My brother referred to this as the Miller of the
Czech beers, referring mostly to its lack of uniqueness compared to others. This is not a hard beer to drink.

Finger of head on a clear medium straw colored body.
Excellent aroma of grain and honey.
Pretty good tasting too. It has medium bitterness throughout with a touch of sweetness in the middle.
Crisp and medium body, moderate carbonation.
A delicious lager.

The colour is medium gold, the three finger head is off-white, airy and firm.

The smell is fresh and malty (sweet) with lots of noble hops; bitter, buttery and flowery flavours.

The taste is hoppy with butter, a passing bitterness and lots of sweet malts. The aftertaste is rather sweet with creamy notes of butter/cream, some minerals and a mild pleasant bitterness in the finish.

The carbonation is fresh and medium strong. Small bubbles. The liquid is mid-smooth.

A fresh Czech beer with the hops of a pilsner and the maltyness of a lager.

I am a fan of the tall can filled with Eiro lager as I find it maintains the freshness over bottles. This is a nice Czech Pils that compares with Urquell et al. with its hops bite and fresh finish. Big enough in body to satisfy but smooth enough for summer drinking. Worth the purchase.

Pours pale Yellow with some oranginess, nice thick head in my pils glass that faded a bit but not completely, left a nice white layer.

This thing has some aroma, a hoppy floral scent was evident from a couple feet away on the pour. Upon closer inspection I picked up on some grain as well.

Flavor was good, pretty close to other czech beers i've tried, however it went down a bit watery and there was some sugary sweetness in there that i did not expect.

Overall, pretty tasty, but I know there are better czechs out there for my palette

Pint bottle poured in a Pilsner glass on 10-15-11

A: 2.5 finger head, not very thick, fizzled away quickly. Light yellow color, very clear and no cloudiness. Well carbonated.

S: Spicy and crisp smell, enjoyable and summery with buttery notes.

T: Very light, I'm getting fruit essences but for a thin beer it is very flavorful.

M: Like mentioned above, very thing. Enjoyable for the flavor and surprising.

O: Not bad, but probably wouldn't order again. Would be better if I had enjoyed it during the summer, it is light and flavorful enough to be enjoyed by even casual beer drinkers.
