Formerly Primator Premium Lager

Medium-fermented beer with a full body, a fine distinctive bitterness, high zest, and pure hop aroma.

A taste sensation leaves you waiting for the next sip. It is typical of all types of Pilsner beers and for which Czech 12°lager is famous all over the world. Premium is the Pride of our brewery and uses only the highest quality ingredients. The lovingly controlled process ends with prolonged maturation at 1° C. It has a zesty taste, sparkling golden color and a long lasting white head. It leaves a feeling of slowly fading bitterness on the palate. It is suitable for all occasions - simply anytime you want to really enjoy beer. It is perfect with grilled meat, salads, and steaks. Serve thoroughly chilled in a tall glass. This prestigious beer stands for the unique art of brewing in Náchod.

DATE: January 20, 2023... OCCASION: watching Rocky III with the family with a gift beer from Uncle Mark--many thanks! GLASSWARE: PSU pilsner... pours a golden yellow body with small, active bubbles... its head begins thickly with a three-fingered thickness that reduces over time to a soapy froth, spitting random clouds along the glass... thick, meaty musk of garden hose, spicy bread, flowery esters, and cereal malts... not entirely off-putting, but not alluring either... approximates the average lager... buttery, oily, slippery and swift, it sips way too easily, though it finishes with a beefiness that approximates unsweetened tea... light grains, cereal malts, fresh flowers, a bit of metallic garden hose, honey, and sweet hard fruits... serviceable and sweet, with a cleansing presence... a bit better than I expected it to be, I would drink this again if it were put in my hand, but not if I were buying it...

This is a relatively unique beer to be having here in California. It's a Czech pilsner, but the malt bring more amber/copper hues. Carb as expected, lacing lasts minutes but not a fingers worth at pour. The surprise (that could also throw ratings) is in the flavor - the hops are substantial for a pils and the types bring a woody, spicy, earthy, and minty finish.

This is a quality beer. It's refreshing, a bit muddy, dusty, and very drinkable. However, there's really nothing special about it, and I only buy it when it's the best option on the shelf at the time. They make a "dark lager" version of this beer that is not very good in my opinion; so be watchful and make sure it's the Premium Lager if you decide to try this beer.

500 ml bottle, ABV is 5%. Might be imported to Norway. Golden colour, big and lasting white head. Moderate "dusty" aroma, notes of hay. Fresh and soft mouthfeel, moderate carbonation in the glass. Medium sweet flavour, hints of honey and butterscotch, moderate bitterness, very drinkable but not exceptional.

Dark burnt orange with a big off-white head. Grassy and leafy hops, with honey and doughy bread in the smell and taste. The taste has a sweet resin note in the middle of it all that seems misguided, botanical notes are dulled as a result. Feel is malty but not very crisp, hops are decent but don't change the feel by much. Not the best representation of the style

500ml bottle served in a nonic glass.

Look- Clear golden color. Solid off white head with good retention, moderate lacing. Very active carbonation streams visible.

Smell- Caramel and honey malt, red apple and citrus, a bit of other generic fruit and spice, herbal/grassy and floral notes.

Taste- Lemony citrus and red apple, sweet bready malts, floral/earthy hops and light spice.

Feel- Medium bodied. Crisp with a lightly sweet finish. Medium/heavy carbonation on the tongue.

O- I really don't get the low ratings. The Euro deli I purchased it at gets fresh stock frequently, must be the case. I find this one really solid and at $2.80 a bottle it's a nice deal.

This is kind of what I learned to like beer as in the 1960's. My parents were German immigrants so we had lots of European style things like this around the house when I was growing up. My dad's taste went all downhill from there.

This one pours a nice appetizing light color with good head. The aroma is unmistakable, one of my favorite smells. And the taste is nowhere near as good. And before you know it, you are refreshed.

Recommended. Thanks to my neighbors for the bottle (fee for using the pool on a 90 degree day).

Taste: crisp, chalky, stale, airy finish. Dusty, earthy nose. Dull golden hue, mostly clear, white foamy soapy head. Medium body. Stale and dusty notes.

Pours a clear tan gold with a hearty foam head. That might be the most impressive thing about this beer. Light grassy aroma, faded orange peel and candied grass on the finish. Nicely carbonated. A curiosity pick from the Russian market.

Primátor makes quite good beers, but this is the first "Czech" type that I drink from them.
Although it is not as rich and intensely hopped as your good old lezák, it's still quite okay, nothing unpleasant, easily drinkable. The only comment I could make is its slightly excessive carbonation, otherwise a good, "light" lezák.

Poured 500ml bottle into Pils glass. It is a deep gold with a 2 finger white head that leaves a foamy cap and minimal lacing. Biscuit malts dance with light spicy hops along with some grain and hints of grass. The flavor is heavy with malt and some cereal grain. There is a mild spicy and bitterness to it that manages to balance the malt. Light bodied with soft carbonation that finishes clean and crisp. A nice and enjoyable Czeck Pils.

This is a great and very flavorful lager. The nose is fresh and full of sweet malts aroma. The taste is surprisingly bitter but with toasty malts that offer a nice flavor profile. Easy to drink but also satisfying to the taste buds.
