16oz draft poured into a pint glass shows a bright orange leaning amber colored body that briefly floats a light tan soapy head.
Aroma is a nice mix of malt and bitter, but subtle.
Flavors include a darker bitterness, not so much a bite, but rather a chomp.
Not a taste on the tongue, but more a mouth filling taste.
Mouthfeel is medium and leans full, but not remotely heavy.
Overall it was the perfect foil for my smoked salmon sandwich.

From a 500ml can served at 6 degrees Celsius into a tulip. My fridge is apparently colder than I thought so I'm waiting for the beer to gain a few degrees before going at it. Best before date: 30.11.2017.

Look: The beer pours a brilliant medium amber with 1.5cm of dense, creamy, tan head that settles into a thick cap within 3-ish minutes.

Smell: Faint pale malts with moderate dark fruit esters. Caramel/toffee and a faint alcohol note. There's no doubt the malts dominate, but there's enough hop-character to balance the aroma.

Taste: Moderate intensity and well-balanced following the nose seamlessly. Malts and esters rule with support from the hops. Notes of nuts, caramel/toffee, toast, and some floral, earthy hops with estery dark fruit.

Feel: Medium body with mild carbonation. Very smooth, wet, and round. Faint alcohol warmth.

Overall: At this point I haven't had that many British ales. There seems to be a trend for solid brews that don't really stand out in terms of flavour or aroma and Fuller's ESB is no exception. Malty-forward yet good overall balance. Nice texture but relatively uninteresting. I'd like to try this fresh from the source.
