Bottle. Cellared for five years. Awakened with a soft "thut". Nearly black with a thin vibrant head.
Aroma of roasted chestnuts with sweet caramel toffee sauce.
Malt and dark autumn fruits when tasted. Rum and raisin chocolate fudge. Sweet at the front with a light bitter finish.
Soft bottle conditioned feel.
Sublime and well worth the ageing. Must be at it's peak.

A- Pours a deep Ebony with some light visible. The head is thick and creamy and stay the distance
S- Sweet caramel and toffee aromas
T- Up front some nice hoppy flavours closely drounded out by milky caramel chocolate flavours, the finish is milky
M- Medium to heavy body with minimal carbonation
O- Extremely well rounded beer. And somewhat a work of art. I love the concept of the past masters series. Its literally tasting history, and a massive thumbs up for that.

500ml bottle emptied into a..... glass.
Looks great - very dark with a nice creamy tan head - lots of lacing and good retention.
Nose isn't expressive but has a bit going on - some expected coffee and chocolate but with a little bready malt.
Palate is lovely - lovely creamy mouthfeel and lots of lovely coffee malt - just a hint of bitterness at the end - great balance.
This beer really sang for me - I'm not a huge fan of Fuller's beers but this is great.
Highly recommended.

Dark brown color with tan head. Aroma is quite tame, just some toasted malt. Taste follows, slightly roasty, a bit of coffee bitterness, quite simple. Not really as good as I am used from other Fuller's beers.

The colour is black; the two finger head is airy and off-white. It sinks slowly leaving some lacing on the glass.
The smell god some red dried fruits, fried meat, black chocolate and a subtle touch of vanilla. It is lighter than expected.
The taste is surprisingly dry; almost harsh. Dried red fruits/berries, passing metallic bitterness. Crisp bread and orange candy. Medium body. The aftertaste got growing hot alcohol, harsh bitterness, old fashioned fruit candy and some barrel-aged oak notes. Alcohol, charcoal, rolled oats and prunes in the finish.
The carbonation is medium strong; lots of very small long-lived bubbles. The liquid is semi-smooth.
I had hoped for more and stronger flavours in this one. Clean and drinkable, but not very complex.

Opaque dark brown with decent tan head, good retention.
Smell is rather weak, oatmeal, chocolate, licorice.
Taste is better - cognac, oatmeal, cream, coffee, molasses.
Full body, soft carbonation.
Delicious.

The beer looks delicious! Very dark brown with a one finger high, beige-brown, creamy head.
Nice lacing lingers on the glass.
Nose: Roasted malt, dark chocolate, oatmeal, whipped cream, hazelnut, red berries and licorice.
Taste: Sweet chocolate, caramel, roasted malt, brownie, grain, wood and sweet molasses.
Mouth: Light carbonated. Medium to full body. Sweet creamy texture. Light dry ending.
Great porter!
