From a 500ml bottle.

Pours crystal clear, russet colour with a small head that disappears quickly and leaves no trace.

Smell is toasted malt and alcohol.

Tastes of caramel, raisins, spiced apple juice, and alcohol. Sweet & boozy.

Soft, velvety mouthfeel with an alcoholic bite in the finish. Surprisingly drinkable.

Listed in the "1001 Beers To Taste Before You Die".
MJ's "Guide" gave it 3 of 4 stars and called it "a honeys, but quite dry, pale, barley wine."

Poured into pint.
Pours clear deep dark copper beer with nice2,5 finger off-white head, good retention.
Smell - rich, dark fruits, woody notes.
Taste is similar to smell, remarkable alcohol, definite bitter finish.
Full syrupy body, moderate carbonation, warming.
