Had this a few years ago. From my notes:
Poured from the bottle into a glass.
Semi-opaque orange appearance.
Nice off-white head; nice lace.
Nice floral hop aroma. Orange is the dominant smell.
Pleasant orange peel flavor. The hops hit you on the back end with a nice bite. Alcohol is fairly well hidden. This is a real nice IPA, easy to drink but packed with flavor. I'd have another, no question.

Another darker than average ipa, this is an imperial ipa, but still, did not expect to see brown be the main color descriptor on a beer in this style range. Aroma had a heavy malt presence, some Cascade hops.
Taste went for the big beer bitterness and maltiness to round it out vibe. Pretty thick body and mouthfeel. The hops in this imperial ipa seem only there for bitterness and offer next to nothing in terms of flavor. Plenty of malt flavor though, do you like toffee? Wood? Caramel? Walnuts?
The commercial hand job brags about 5 stages of hopping, but it seems like they may have forgot to do 4 of them.

Dark clear amber with a white head. Really this isn't bad, I think people are quick to dump on it because of who the brewer is. Definitely a little more malty than most dipas, but the herbal and vegetable hops are there, especially in the smell. Little sweet with toffee like malts, but brings out the citrus more. Overall solid just needs a tweak in the malt work

L: It pours brilliant amber with a slight red hue under a 3” cream colored foam collar that dissipates to a thick film while hugging the side of the glass.
S: Complex hop aromas with citrus, grass, resin and pine.
T: Starts bold with big malt flavors that suggest cola, anise and citrus when they hit the hops. Lingering hop bitterness on the finish is mellowed by rich malt flavors.
F: Big luscious body with medium low carbonation.
O: Everything is big and above average on the palate but surprisingly in balance that knocks off any harsh or sharp edges.

2012 vintage, this pours a semi-cloudy, dark amber color with a slight head. The aroma is fairly sweet which might have happened with the aging. The taste starts fairly sweet and ends with a pine, bitter finish. Very easy drinking.

At 8.5% abv and $8 a 4 pack I certainly can't complain. At the price point this Imperial IPA was on the mark.
