From a 12oz can:
Appearance: Dark brown, good head.
Smell: Nice chocolate aroma, sweet.
Taste: Sweet chocolate but not cloying. Light body and easy to drink.
Overall: I'm pretty impressed by this chocolate dunkel, way more chocolate flavor than I was expecting. Not "candy bar in a glass" level like some pastry stouts, but a solid, sweet chocolate flavor that isn't over-the-top.

Poured from a 12 ounce can into a shaker pint.
Look - Deep brown body with a crisp looking bone white head. Very soft, fluffy, and inviting. Definitely looks like something I'd want to drink during a winter storm.
Smell - Lots of chocolate. Not really much else. Good chocolate though.
Taste - Again, lots of chocolate and not a ton else. Very crisp and clean though.
Feel - A little thin for what I would want, but the carbonation is spot on.
Overall - Yeah, it's fine. It's a chocolate beer that isn't an overpowering stout, I can get behind this.

I really enjoy this beer. It actually tastes exactly as advertised. Being a porter/stout fan I have a bad habit of rating beers too low on mouthfeel so I hd to bump this one up a bit. The smell and taste of chocolate is fantastic. There is a slight sickly sweetness I don't care for and it could be a tad dryer.
Great head(never a bad thing). A lot of lacing but still thin(watery?)
Very easy to drink In fact I finished my entire can just while typing this!

Poured into a grip shaped goblet: color is light brown, amber edges, head is light tan and presented 2 inches thick but then dissipated to thin and solid top, spotty lacing.
Smell is like malted chocolate balls - actually somewhat pleasant and reminiscent of steeping malt and melted chocolate.
Taste is similar with malted chocolate blended with some lighter barley malt flavors, limited hops, not overly sweet but also not overly 'dunkel'.
Mouthfeel is moderate carbonation, moderate sweetness, limited bitterness but more carbonic bite lingers.
Overall a fairly chocolatey brew but the base is solid.

Pours out of the can a very dark brown with a half an inch of head with strong lacing. Smells like roasted malts fused with a chocolate bar. Tastes very sweet like the fragrance but feels slightly thinner than I was expecting. This was a pretty solid job by Leinenkugel!

Pours a clear dark brown with a reddish tint when held to the light. Thick long lasting tan head leaves nice lacing, Aroma is cocoa powder and roasted malt. Flavor follows the nose, a touch sweet. Feel is light bodied and adequately carbonated. Overall, a nice drinkable beer, nothing fancy just refreshing.

Nice foam head when poured from a can. Heavy dark chocolate taste, aftertaste has hints of vanilla. The body was a little on the thin side. It's rare for me that a chocolate stout is too chocolatey but this is the case here. I'm curious if the tap version is different. I'll finish out the six pack but probably won't get it again.

Appearance: Pours a clear, brown to deep amber color with a strong tan head. SRM of 21. (4.00)
Aroma: Strong aromas of milk chocolate and strong cocoa powder upfront. Some wafer behind that with hints of black cherry and vanilla notes. (4.00)
Flavor: flavors follow with strong flavors of rich chocolate syrup with hints of vanilla and black cherry notes. Booze after that with a sweet finish. (3.75)
Feel: Medium to heavier bodied, average carbonation. Finish is smooth, thick, rich, boozy, and sweet. (3.25)
Overall: An okay beer here. Calling it a dunkel is a bit of a stretch. Lots of cocoa powder here with some hints of vanilla and cherry. Booze shows a bit too much and sort of a weird after taste similar to most Leinenkugals beers that remind me of cheap beer and adjuncts. I feel like Leinenkugals uses added flavors to hide the natural flavors of their beer which are definitely not up to standard. I don't know if I could tell a difference between this and their vanilla porter. (Rating: 3.73-)
