(on tap at Skeeter's Pub... served in an immaculately-clean shaker pint)

Tastes like a diluted malt liquor back-sweetened/colored/bolstered by malt syrup... clean, almost watery, rather dry... lingering flavors of malt syrup, dried acorn, tree bark, cedar water... I guess $3.50 a pint is a deal... its dull, woody bitterness lingered through the salad I had with it, lingered part of the ride home... thought it smelt of Yuengling lager initially, if that adds another facet...

Pours a very deep amber color.

The aroma is non-existent. It's water with a hint of malt.

The flavor is as standard as it comes for the style. Not bad, per se, just uninteresting and muted. Sort of like a session version of a marzen.

The feel is light and with way too much carbonation. It's drinkable. That's about it.

Overall, an entirely mediocre lager. It has absolutely no aroma and the flavor is only so much more. That said, it's not a bad beer. I just wouldn't drink it ever again.

Appearance - Big offwhite head with decent-low retention and virtually no lacing. Clear medium-light amber brown body with decent carbonation. 4

Smell - Nutty and faint caramel. Slight wet cardboard. 4

Taste - Smooth, nutty, bitter cardboard. 3.75

Mouthfeel - Medium bodied, slightly creamy, with an astringent finish. 4

Overall - Just about the most rounded, least offensive oktoberfest beer I've had. Though, despite rating in style, I still can't give myself to give this thing any 5's. Oktoberfest beers will probably never get my true respect until they can somehow get rid of that wet cardboard character. 3.5

L-The beer pours an attractive clear copper. The head is 2 fingers of off white foam which recedes to a ring and irregular central island. Lacing is absent.
S- Nose is pretty typical for a marzen. There is a light caramel malt presence. Spicy hops are present over the top of the malt presence.
T-Malt presence here is stronger than in the nose. The malt however is not as sweet as in a Sam Adam's Okto. Hop presence does a good job balancing the beer.
M- Mouthfeel overall is light, bordering on watery. Carbonation is prickly enhancing the light feel. This is one you can drink multiples of easily without feeling weighed down.
O-This one is ok. Mouthfeel is a little watery for my personal taste. It is better balanced in terms of sweetness than Sam Adams is for those who don't want a sweet Okto.

this beer is a very deep amber color to the point where it affects the transparency. the smell is a rather muted mixture of roasted malts and a hint of hops in the back. the taste wasnt eye opening to me. mostly a repeat of the smell with roasty kind of flavor with a hint of sweetness and hops in the background. very light bodied beer this is easy to drink all day even if it doesnt taste the best.
