A- Pours a dark cola color that seems reasonably clear. There is a caramel colored head that retains very well....almost nitro tap like. It's too hard to tell how much carbonation is in this beer but the rich dense head suggests that there is a lot of fine bubbles contained. The lacing is decent, if not a little thin, but nothing too much to worry about.

S- Smells like a sweet porter! Definite vanilla aromas, not necessarily natural smelling either. There is lots of roasted malt happening as well, perhaps slightly burnt but not overly. No real hop notes either. Nothing offensive at all about it, but it isn't anything super high end either.

T- Not the greatest flavor in the world, but it's ok overall. The alcohol is noticeable and there is a bit of a metallic note in this but it has the general context of what a porter flavor should be. The vanilla is very subtle and doesn't add much to the brew itself...im kind of disappointed actually. This reminds me of a generic porter with a hint of artificial flavoring.

M/D- This is a smooth, full bodied beer that while it does have flavor, I don't feel that it delivers fully in what it is trying to be. I don't hate it and would probably buy it again, especially at it's price point, but think this is a good intro into the style. I'm sure there is better out there but at the same time I'm sure there is much worse!
