A -Golden, amber, traditional beer pour and color.

S - Nothing particularly overpowering. Slight spring like smell.

T - With a name like Hoppin' Helles, I was expecting quite a bit more of a hop taste. It isnt that hoppy. A very good refreshing beer. Slight lemon aftertaste.

M - Smooth. Slightly overcarbonated.

O - I cannot complain about what is considered a "premium beer" at my local supermarket marked down to $4 a six pack. I have had this before and am not disappointed. A good beer that doesnt stand out, but not anything I would turn down either.

A decent Helles, especially if you're not a huge fan of dark, heavy beer.

On-tap at Maryvale Ballpark in Phoenix, AZ during a Diamondbacks-Brewers game. Poured into a souvenir Brewers pokal glass. On to the beer:

On-top is a creamy head, and below is a bright yellow beer which makes the beer style proud. Lots of carbonation bubbles run through the beer. Hoppin Helles is right in name, as the aroma is well hopped. However, the hops aren't as fragrant as other hoppy beers. In this case, the nose is a singular spicy note with a kiss of diacetyl.

Taste....well, you tell that there was an effort to make this beer hoppy. Like the aroma however, the hops don't provide the same stimulation to the senses as other breweries manage to pull off. Vague hoppy flavor throughout the taste, leafy, some graininess from the malt, a steeley and slick bitterness which at least distinguish it from a normal blah lager. It's a light/medium bodied beer, with a somewhat creamy and cool feeling.

Decent beer on its own with a few rough patches. With its level of hops, it could be confused as a pilsner. Nonetheless, Hofbrau and the rest of Munich have little to fear here.

A - Poured a gorgeous gold with lots of carbonation and great head retention. Looks almost like a more vibrantly colored ginger ale. Actually leaves a decent amount of lacing for what it is.

S - Very vibrant hop aroma, some hints of citrus and fresh lemon. Hints of lemon zest, some corniness, and a whole mesh of flowery aromas. Smells like spring.

T - Not bad at all for the style. Very refreshing, with just the right measure of hops and citrus notes. A few hop notes greet the first sip, they're washed away by a zesty lemon-orange burst, and finished off with some hints of pine, corn cereal, and sugar cookie.

M - Smooth and slippery, very smooth. Just a hint of stickiness that lets the hop and citrus aromas linger for just the right amount of time.

O - Very refreshing and invigorating! Leinenkugel's has definitely put forth a very refreshing and drinkable spring beer. I can literally taste spring. It's nothing that I would write home about, but it is definitely a beer I'll drink again whenever I have a chance to!
