(Served in a chilled bourbon snifter)
A- Dark auburn color that is slightly translucent at the neck of the snifter. A few bubbles at the top but no head to speak of.
S- A bit of roasted malt and some nice floral hops as well
T- Roasted malt with spicy hop bitterness. Grapefruit hop flavor mixed with a hint of alcohol warmth and sweet aftertaste finish the beer.
M- medium mouthfeel with a sweet warm finish
D- It tasted like a young ABW in the sense that the flavors were very separate but it didn't have the malt complexity to stand to much aging. I would like to taste it after a year or 18 months more on the cellar.

Poured at cellar temp. Not much carbonation but the body is a pretty amber color with just a touch of haze. Never had this fresh, but this is tasting great at 6-7 years out. Lots of rich toffee and plenty of caramelized brown sugar plus hints of figs, molasses, and black licorice. This is disappearing quickly.

A - Clear, ruby red coloreed ale with dense, cream colored head.
S - Very pleasantly intense aroma, up front. aroma reminds me of rum and raisin, and ripe red berries. All this combines to give the nose a nice, vinous quality. From there the nose proceeds into a gentle sort of woody aroma, as though it had been barrel aged. then, just a hint of tobacco before fading into the distance.
T - Olde deuteronomjy is full bodied and smooth, its flavors are even bigger and bolder than the nose led me to believe. Again rum, raisin, and flavors of barrel aging. Subtle flavors of alcohol are softened by hints of molasses or brown sugar sweetness. Then, fading into a subtle, but lasting dryness.
O - Overall, Olde deuteronomy is full flavored, complex, and balanced giving a barleywine that is truly great, and at the same time, accessible and drinkable.

Ruby red and filtered with light carbonation and a finger of beige head.
Smells of caramel, stanky foot, coke, cherries and toast.
Tastes of toasted malt, toast, creme brûlée and orange pith.
Medium, syrupy body with little carbonation.
I got this in Banff, AB Canada, and am drinking it in Redding, Jan 30th, 2020.

This is a good sipping beer, standard in some ways for a barley wine. Not the best I have had - this one had some off putting flavours as I supped. Sort of fennel/licorice that seemed to linger. But ignoring that, it was fine, and in no way a bad investment of a few dollars.

2016 Vintage.10.3% ABV. Poured from a 341mL bottle into a snifter.
L- Burnt caramel in color with a slight cherry tinge. Cloudy with minimal carbonation. Their is a rim of head on the outside due to the high abv.
S- A variety of fruits, burnt caramel, and spice
T- Smoky bacon, sweet oranges, lemon, burnt caramel, dates, pomegranate, vanilla. So much flavor going on here so to say this is a slow slipper is an understatement. Their is a bit of an off putting licorice/molasses taste that works against the hops here but it could probably mellowed with age.
F- Incredibly full bodied with the flavors dancing on your palate long after it leaves your mouth.
O- This was introduction to barely wine and that big flavors are almost to large for me. Going to buy another bottle and age it for a few years to see what happens.

2017 bottle poured in 2023. Poured from fridge temp. Pours a murky brown with a solid amount of tan head. The lacing is significant. Smell isn't overly strong - dark fruit is dominant. Cherry, blackberry. A bit of honey, and some toffee. Taste is fantastic. Fruity, a bit bitter, malty, and some really nice caramel notes. Mouthfeel is super nice and creamy. Lovely aftertaste with a floral note mixed with toffee.

341ml bottle poured into tulip. 2016 vintage.
Pours a clear, dark amber red with a thin ring of tan bubbles around the edges of the glass.
Smells of sugary dried fruit, sticky caramel malt, soft leather, old wood, sweet tobacco and faint citrus zest.
Tastes of dark toffee, more sweet dried fruit, candied citrus peel, roasted caramel apple, faint cold coffee and mild floral hops.
Feels big and silky. Full bodied with mild carbonation. Finishes mostly sweet, the hops asserting themselves after a while.
Verdict: Vigorously recommended. Not all that pretty, but delicious.
