A spin on my favorite local offering!

A- Darker color than the original, this one is a clear amber with a smallish off white head. The lacing is somewhat spotted.

S- Wow! This isn't anything like what I'm use to, much different but not in a bad way. Loads of bready malt with a hint of toffee. The hops are citrusy, fruity and there's a definite sweet component here as well.

T- Much more bitterness in this one throughout the entire mouth. More malty towards the end, the finish and aftertaste are awesome! Nice pine bite and smooth toffee malt just take this over the top.

M- Carbonation has a nice crisp bite, mouth is almost lager like. Medium bodied, smooth, smooth, smooth!

O- So refreshing, I think this is Alley Kats best to date. It kind of reminded me of Rogue's Dead Guy Ale with how much bready/toffee malt was in here, but it definitely had more bite. Wish my wife wasn't sharing this one with me. Excellent!!!

Very pleasant beer. Malty aromas, only a faint hop. Not only very fresh hops used, but these were not green hops as usual, rather citrus and a balanced and good drinking experience.Smooth mouthfeel. Golden bodied with a generous off-white head in my anti-gravity glass. Thanks for hooking me up Presario.

A - a clear deep copper, mountain or creamy head kept building from the bottom, looks amazing with gobs of lacing all the way down
S - very toasty and biscuity with light caramel and fruity aromas
T - out of the gate malt heavy with toffee and biscuit flavours, moves to a nice hop mix of grassy and earthiness
M - medium bodied and creamy, smooth with a light dry bitter finish
O - a nice twist on an already worthy pale ale, this has a little bigger malt backbone, a different hop mix, and a creamier feel, very well done

Appearance - Thick white head with cloudy pale copper/amber hue.

Smell - Fruity notes (citrus and tropical fruits), sweet aroma (perhaps like honey).

Taste - Bitter at first, but then goes to a palatable taste balance. Very hoppy in flavour. Aftertaste is slightly bitter with a hint of the tropical fruit that is picked up in the aroma.

Mouthfeel - Medium bodied ale with light bubbliness. Fresh hops add a unique feel to it (perhaps from the bitterness it leaves). Despite bitter qualities, has easy drinkability.

Overall - Good session brew from Alley Kat. Unique twist to this style of beer by using fresh hops. Good on its own or with a warm autumn meal.

650ml bottle poured into tulip 12/10/11

A clear copper with tiny bubbles almost moving in waves, thumbs width of creme colored foam has great retention and leaves several partial rings followed by lots of unorganized lace

S vegatal notes with some toffee and a mild tropical fruit smell with a little honey

T what I smell but stronger and there's a little pine but faint, nice herbal notes and at the end of the day there's heaps of flavor

M prickly bubbles and a fairly full body for the color, mild bite to it and a piney earthy finish

O the fresh hops add a unique aspect to a already great beer, this would make for a great session with plenty going on in a beer that wont put you on your back

At 5$ a bomber I'll be grabbing a few more of these for sure, a great pale and something everyone should try if they get the chance

From a 650 ml brown bottle, brand new label for this variation. Pours out a clear deep copper hue, tight creamy white head with good retention.

Bready and toasty malt on the nose, notes of Fruit Loops, hints of pine and some mild citrus.

Malt seems more prominant in this version, or at least more noticeable. The hops in the flavour seem softer and rounder at first, but carry more punch late into the finish and lingering on in the aftertaste. Some spicy notes from the hops in the aftertaste as well.

Medium-bodied mouthfeel, brisk carbonation, texture gets a bit sticky from the fresh hop oil.

Beautiful results from a happy accident--that of Alley Kat accidently being delivered a whole lotta fresh hops by mistake instead of the pellets they had ordered. I heard this is selling fast and furious, it's worth seeking out and stocking up on.

A 650ml bomber of Alley Kat's Full Moon pale ale! But wait - it's made with fresh whole hops, and a fresh new look. Toss in the new CSPC, and this is a new enough beer, IMHO. Let the detractors have their say, Imma gonna just go kill this twist on my favorite local offering...

This beer pours a clear medium copper hue, with two fingers of tight creamy/foamy off-white head, which leaves a nice pock-marked wall of lace around the glass as it slinks away. It smells of caramel nougat, a bit of lemon, and citrusy, leafy hops. The taste is bitter citrus rind up front, which gradually gives way to some bready pale malt, a bit of creamy toffee, and clean leafy hops. The carbonation is on the tame side of average, the body a lower middle-class medium weight, and quite smooth. It finishes more on an even keel - the nice, sweetness-restrained malt keeping the varied, lively hop essences from overreaching.

Well, the appearance and nose are spot on for the original FM, but once the flavour hits, we're talking peppy, slightly bigger hops, which isn't to say that this is lacking normally, they're just more prevalent in this incarnation. Everything is still kept well within APA territory, which is one of the selling points of this bitchin' brew in the first place - no hop fatigue. In this case, just a hop sidestep, tune-up, whatever. It's quite, quite good.
