First brewed by Harvest Moon in 1998, this wheat ale is a mild version of a Belgian classic, with perfect amounts of malted barley and malted wheat, hopped with Czechoslovakian Saaz hops, and finished with a touch of coriander and orange peel. It soon developed a faithful following and has become the brewery's most popular beer, winning many people's choice awards. It is an ale for every season with a hint of fruit in the nose, subdued malty flavor and a slightly orange (citrus) finish. Often it is seved with a slice of orange! Why the name "Beltian"?Because it's a Belgian-style ale brewed in Belt - BELTian white!

Think of a Blue moon Light beer and this is pretty much it. Nothing great but not bad. A nice summer brew. Drank on tap at The Brewhouse in Helena, MT.

L: Golden rod in color. Somewhat hazy appearance. Little head formation but does sustain ring around perimeter. Leaves some lacing behind.
S: Very subtle notes of orange, black pepper, lemon and bread. Orange seems to be most pronounced, but the smell is very subdued.
T: Orange peel flavor is dominant, following the bready/wheat flavor. Coriander is present is the residual flavor. Finish is malty sweet with lingering citrus flavor.
F: Low carbonation, soft and full bodied. Really enjoyable.
O: Not the biggest fan of wheat beers, but I can roll with this. I appreciate the flavor that the orange peel and coriander provides. I would drink again. I am very glad to have tried. Cheers!

I pick this beer a few months back and finally got a chance to rate it. Poured into a wheat glass at 46 degrees. A monster three finger bright white head. The head of the beer is billowy, rocky, and firm. Lacing on the glass is abundant as the slowly dissipates. The color of the beer is SRM 3 a straw color with golden hues. The clarity of the beer is hazy with a few carbonation bubbles visible. Overall, a beautiful appearance of the beer.
Nose:
A strong wheat aroma, grass, coriander, orange citrus, crackers, and lightly toasted malt aromas. Typical aromas found in these styles of beers.
Taste:
A mellow but firm wheat flavors with grass, orange, coriander, orange citrus, crackers, and yeast. Classic witbier profile.
The mouthfeel of the beer is clean, a light creaminess, and crisp. The body of the beer is medium, medium carbonation, and a medium finish.
The beer does have a slight phenolic herbal taste. The beer's profile is a standard witbier.
A flavorful beer and a must try.

An aggressive pour from a 12 ounce can into a 10 ounce Pilsener sampling glass produces almost no head- just a slight ring of suds and a couple of forlorn bubbles. There is no freshness date visible.
The aroma is of understated minerals, with a light floral hop note. The flavor is quite good and refreshing, with delicate floral notes and a base sweetness reminiscent of honey. The mouthfeel is nice and frothy, befitting the style (weird considering the lack of head).
If not for the pathetically reduced head (surely, for a wheat beer), I would rate this as excellent all around. I will review again at some point from the bottle.
