For a non-alcoholic beer this is the bomb! It would be unfair to compare it to beets with alcohol, but comparison to other non-alcoholic beers is another story. It has more body and a richer flavor compared to American non-alcoholic beers. It has a clean finish and almost tastes like Asahi Super Dry. It can be found at the larger Asian Markets and at Japanese specific markets in the United States. Like other non-alcoholic beers the prices is higher than it's alcohol containing bretheren. If you want a beer but can't have the alcohol, this is the "go to" beer.

Can purchased at a local Asian grocery, poured into a pint glass. Pale straw body, very clear, topped by a dense head with little retention. Spotty lacing and no head after a few minutes. Slightly sweet and vegetal nose. Vigorous carbonation that goes flat quickly. No malt flavor to speak of. What is there is an idea of hopped beer, a hint of yeast, and thankfully true to dry style, little sweetness. There's an interesting finish I can't place.

Not great, not bad, not something I'd want to drink normally, but I can see its appeal given the utility. At zero calories and zero alcohol, this is a beverage engineering marvel.

At a restaurant in Sapporo, Japan, poured from a bottle to a water glass. Very carbonated and pale in color. Not much in terms of flavor, especially given that the carbonation takes over. Not something I'll choose to drink again.
