Such a great, unassuming light beer. If you want a light, refreshing beer, with a minimal taste this is the beautiful Pilsener for your taste buds to enjoy. Reminds me of Whittkerke!

This is the only Light beer, I think I can drink. For a Pilsner, it's one of the few that I think travels from Europe, and tastes like your actually Drinking one in Czech. I can drink this from 9Am to 9Pm straight and have zero hangover. A masterpiece in light beer.

Apperance: Exceptional because of it's color, plae with a greenish Hue, the true colors of a PIls
Smell: Slight malty smell
Taste: Excellent and refreshing, lots of Honey noted
Mouthfeel: Perfect Carbonation
Drinkability: See above (all day long, baby)
Belch: Non existent it seems

Bavik has a medium-to-thick, soapy, white head, and hazy golden appearance, some lacing left on the glass, and an enormous amount of bubbles. When I swished the bottom 20% of the bottle, a cloud was seen descending in the glass and lots of little brown specs were visible in the beer. The aroma is of sweet, full, lightly-roasted barley malt, white bread, and a slight hop zing. Taste is of the same elements, with a wonderful, somewhat piney (if you can believe it) hop bitterness showing up mid-sip. Mouthfeel is light to medium, and Bavik finishes crisp, clean, refreshing, and wonderful. Each sip gets better, and I recommend, in the strongest way, trying this delightful beer!

This is my first review.

I was compelled to review Bavik. I discovered it by accident at Trader Joe's. There was a single bottle floating about so I thought what the heck.

This beer goes down very easy and tastes great. Has a lovely feel to it.

Certainly a step or two above the macro euro lagers.

Straw color with a light haze, a nice full white head, very active carbonation, and some lace. Nice grainy aroma with some earthy hop notes. Grain flavors dominate with a nice earthy hop balance. Light-medium bodied and smooth with a dry earthy hop finish.

A solid refreshing Belgian pils and certainly better than Stella from memory but I would like to taste them side by side...

This beer pours a healthy white head that slowly fades to an island of foam. A respectable lace clings and stays. Macro yellow in color with a greenish haze. The smell is pretty clean except for a faint belgian mustiness, which i really liked. Taste is more of the same fairly clean, crisp and really easy to quaff. All in all bavik is a great beer, even if it isn't quite true to style.

Served in a Bavik pilsner glass.
A very light golden coloured beer with a rustic bubble.
Nice white head with round shaped lacing on the glass. Fresh and creamy on top.
The scent is German hop and oxidised.
Soft and satisfying taste, very refreshing. This is how I like my pilsner. Dry, hopped, bitter and not sweetened. Well hopped with a nice bitterness. Fresh grain after a rain storm, the sun brakes through. Malt after tones.
The mouthfeel is semi-dry. Medium thickness, a bit creamy.
Aftertaste is bitter dry, a bit sticky. Lingers on.

Great Pilsner.

Overall, I have had this beer on tap once before, and kind of liked the on tap version a little better, but that was a long time ago. This happens to be my favorite tapwerks (local pub) beer on tap. Overall the bottle seemed to be good to the taste, also had the white beer as well.

I used to serve this at Brewology in Speonk, NY. This was our best seller by a good margin. I would agree with some posts that this beer is better on tap. For me, this is a good example of the style. I also agree with some posts indicating a smooth banana, apple, and a hint of bitter hop in the finish. What sells me on this beer on tap is that it has a great color and it has a crisp and clean finish.

Bavik Pils / Lager brewed by De Brabandere, with an ABV of 5.20% This brew pours out a could amber color , with a nice white head. This is a unfiltered brew, you can not see though it. The smell is rich with grains and malts. There is also a nice sweetness in the smell of this brew. Now for the taste, it is nice with grains and malts. Bavik Pils / Lager has a nice balance to it , there is nothing overpowering about this brew. The mouthfeel is rich, smooth and bold. I like how smooth this brew is. This is a nice drinking brew. Overall I'm giving this brew a 4 out 5. De Brabandere did a nice job with this one. I would buy this again.

A: Poured from a bottle to a pilsener glass. Had a pale yellow color and a hazy consistency. There was a half inch of creamy, long-lasting head. Excellent lacing.

S: A decent amount of hops in the aroma, with traces of citrus as well.

T: Tasted of light, bitter hops, a little lemon, and some malt in the finish. There's a slight grainy aspect as well. A typical German Pilsener flavor - very straightforward and easy to drink.

M: A decent amount of carbonation with a crisp, clean finish. Light-bodied.

O: Not exactly a groundbreaking beer, but pretty well done nonetheless.
