Very Good
Petrus Chocolate Cherry Nitro QuadPetrus Chocolate Cherry Nitro Quad
Notes: This unique beer obtains its complex character thanks to the roasted malts and the cherries, but what makes it truly unique, is the technology our brewers used to add nitrogen into the bottle. The delicious notes of chocolate, coffee and cherries will take over your tastebuds!

A: The beer is black when viewed from afar but when held up to a bright light there are traces of reddish hues. It poured with a quarter finger high dense light tan head that has very good retention properties and hardly died down.
S: Moderate aromas of black cherries are present in the nose.
T: The taste is more balanced and has flavors of sweet, black cherries along with notes of coffee and hints of chocolate.
M: It feels medium-bodied and rather smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This quad really has a lot of cherries in both the smell and taste and makes for a nice sweet and smooth dessert beer.

On tap at Yard House in Greenville SC.
Near black reddish-brown body topped with a excellent off-white head. Looks and retains like a nitro pour.
The aroma is sweet with plenty of cherry.
Flavor. Much like a chocolate cherry cordial with a load of hop bitterness. A touch medicinal.
Smooth full body and medium carbonation.

Roasted malts with strong chocolate cherry flair. Good nitro strong dark Belgium quad with very sweet (too sweet?) flavor of candied maraschino cherry and chocolate with subtle coffee splash.

Saw this on a recent trip to Trader Joe’s. First time I had seen it and I was all in because it was a quad and had cherry AND chocolate. Online description read, “This unique beer obtains its complex character thanks to the roasted malts and the cherries, but what makes it truly unique, is the technology our brewers used to add nitrogen into the bottle. The delicious notes of chocolate, coffee and cherries will take over your tastebuds!”

Poured a very dark, almost pitch black color with 2-to-3 fingers of khaki white rocky head. No bubbles could be seen underneath the chaos. Excellent uneven foamy lacing. Perfect retention. (Sight - 4.75)

Smelled chocolate covered cherries, Ben & Jerry’s Cherry Garcia, vanilla, milk chocolate, chocolate syrup, black cherry and cherry candy. Straight cherry from the bottle. Not really any quad notes. (Smell - 4.25)

Tasted at least as good as the nose, maybe better. Very sweet. Got chocolate covered cherries, Ben & Jerry’s Cherry Garcia, vanilla, milk chocolate, hints of cinnamon, black cherry, chocolate syrup and sugary cherry candy. (Taste - 4.50)

Full body. Sticky texture. Average carbonation. Long, sweet finish. (Feel - 4.50)

Wow. About as good as I thought it could be. Just tremendous. (Overall - 4.50)

Presentation: Draft, served in a snifter.

Appearance: The thick, tan colored, one finger head stays around for a long time and leaves big sheets of lacing that coat the entire glass. It's pure black.

Smell: There's a strong cherry scent up front with some dried fruit and malt notes in the background.

Taste: It starts with some sweet, fruity cherry notes and then moves towards the warmer and darker milk chocolate and malty sweetness.

Mouthfeel: It's thick, creamy but not that robust. It has low carbonation (which is normal for nitro beer). Not cloying despite being mostly sweet.

Overall: The cherry and chocolate flavors are presented in the right amounts, with the cherry showing a bit more on the nose and palate without being overwhelming. A wonderful beer overall.
