Enjoyed from the small bottle in a snifter. This nice tripel pours a
beautiful clear amber tinged golden with a nice head of white long
lasting foam that subsides after a long rest to a thin ring, thin pool, and
features some nice light lacing. Nose of honey and candy malts,
earthy Belgian yeast with light fruity esters of banana bread and crackers,
and subtle herbal hop notes. Flavors follow the nose with cracker and
yeasty goodness mingling with banana and light farmhouse funk mixing
nicely with candy sugars and light grain notes and a light herbal hop note
on the rear. Very nice mouth feel; light body, dry finish, and medium high
carbonation. Overall a fantastic ale worthy of trying.
Cheers

a fun collaboration i never knew existed. its nicely made beer, somewhere between a traditional tripel and a strong belgian pale ale. it does a lot of things well. for one, its crystal clear for the style, richer honey colored, and holding over two inches of airy white head that only fades after a long rest, really pretty brew. the nose is belgian yeast driven, ripe banana, green tea, and a little baking spice, delicate and pleasant though, not one of those high ester fermented too warm bombs. there is wheat in here, maybe some pils malt, more body than grain flavor though, aside from a little residual sugar, maybe a candy sugar spike. the yeast leads the way the whole time, with a slight tang to it, almost tannic, not sharp but lively, and cutting the sugar well. if its unintentional, its a good miss. white grape and sour cranberry in the finish, balances the grain sweetness. slight oxidation from being a little lost in the cellar, but it works in styles like this most of the time. fine carbonation and an exuberant zesty finish, a trace of hops linger too. a robust belgian beer, with well hidden abv and a very unique flavor profile overall. fun beer, neat and unlikely partnership.

Bottle purchased at BJ's in Burbank, CA.
Pours a hazy yellow with a foamy white head that settles to a small cap on top of the beer. Small swaths of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, grain, white grape juice, and fruit aromas. Taste is much the same with grain, white grape juice, and spice flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of earth and spice bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer with juicy fruit aspects that come across well in both the smell and taste.

A: Light orange in color with very little head.
S: Lots of orange and other citrus in the nose.
T: Hoppy, citric, a bit bitter, but pleasantly so, with some typical tripelesque spices.
M: Light bodied, but flavorful. A great beer for summer. Typical tripel carbonation.
O: A really good beer, perhaps not the best tripel (certainly not characteristic of the style), but really tasty. Definitely worth a try.

Pours a clear golden with a huge white head. Aromas of grain, and some vinegar. Taste begins with tart, almost green apple flavor, then some phenolics. After that is some light cracker. The finish is dry, but acidic. Mouthfeel is average. Overall a good tripel, a bit more tart and funky than most.
