Look: Cloudy brown. Tan head dissipating quickly.
Smell: Caramel, malty sweetness.
Taste: Super sweet. Caramel. You can taste the underlying alcohol.
Mouthfeel: Packs a punch on the tongue. Feels oily in the mouth. Finishes with a touch of dryness. No hops to speak of.
Overall: Great beer to share with a friend. Sweet and smooth.

The appearance was a nice dark brown to almost black color with a decent one to two finger white foamy head that dissipated within about thirty seconds and ends up leaving a decent amount of foamy lacing. The smell was wheaty yet had a nice allocation of dark chocolate malts and some nice banana coming out to assist in a wonderful aroma. The taste was basically sweet through the chocolate and banana and the wheat ended up backing all of that up in a decent manner. There was no aftertaste and yet there was a slight dry sweet banana finish. On the palate, she sat about a medium in body and wanted to show a decent sessionable quality to it, but for the most part, it really wasn’t. I sipped this and enjoyed it thoroughly that night I had it. Overall, super nice Eisbock well worth my time and money.

Brown color, beautiful off-white foam, not longstanding.
Full and entrancing smell, with dried fruit, candy fruit, raisin, malt and caramel.
A bit of alcohol, but it's 12%.
A lot of dried fruit in the taste too, plums, caramel, toffee. Full and challenging. And still a weizen.
Alcohol quite well hidden after all, but it is definitely a warming beer.
Somq liquorous notes, porto-like.
Again dried fruit in the aftertaste.
Full, challenging, structured. But satisfactory.

2013 vintage boxed version.

Poured out with a generous bone-white head, faded quickly but some of the lacing stuck around, coating the glass nicely. Beer is a lovely hazy mahogany/ruby colour.

Oh man, sugary as hell on the nose, but I love it. Figs, coconut sugar, over-ripe bananas, molasses, maple syrup, hints of chocolate, candied pear, prunes....amazing. Phenomenal. The booze is there for sure, but it's completely eclipsed by the sugary dark fruit.

Flavour is full on sugary maltiness.Dark fruits, prunes, figs, brown sugar.

I love sweet beers. This is in my top 10 for sure.

Pours a deep color with a fluffy head that dissipates quickly. Aroma has some mild vestiges of dark fruit & semi-sweet phenol (the usual date / fig variety) but there is also a weird tomato / vegetal smell underneath as well. Maybe some odd malt / fusel alcohol bastard? Flavor starts out with a little sweet phenol / candy, like a grape Jolly Rancher but old, with fuller phenol notes opening up in the mid-palate bringing in your plum & wet fig, maybe a little star anise. There is definitely a pronounced fusel note but it is hidden pretty well, though certainly noticeable in a husky blackstrap molasses note. It ends with more of a spicey note with more of that anise flavor. Good flavor notes though it somehow lacks a certain impact, can't quite put my finger on it but nothing really sings. Mouthfeel is pretty thick and syrupy. Solid beer but didn't blow my mind.
