A- Pours a cloudy, yeast hazed copper color....almost muddy like. The head is off white in color, not too thick but it is rather a densely populated film over the brew. Lacing isn't overly impressive but I am finding this is the case with all S-W products so far....better than average but nothing special overall.

S- Caramel sweet malts are ever present upfront, with silky smooth yeasty biscuit aromas wafting into my nostrils. Toffee/molasses semi sweetness is noted as well with clean raw wheat and barley kernels and as expected, this has muted spice and fruit....cloves and banana come to mind. The finish is just ever so bitter but more leaning towards dry baking spices.

T- Ok this is a very traditional tasting Hefe brew, with very prominent citrusy spice appearing on the palate.....grapefruit rind tartness, bananas, cloves and nutmeg are detected...pumpkin pie like, and it is creamy....I like a previous reviewers analogy....yogurt/yeast roundness. Perhaps there is some pear fruit cleanliness and the finish is slightly sour and grainy.....very interesting and tasty for sure!

M/O- Creamy carbonation and a solid medium body would be the best description I can give. This would be a great dessert beer to enjoy with some lemon or lime pie, or fresh berries.....as well, I'd have no problem enjoying this throughout an evening on it's own, and might share with some friends as well! I recommend and will definitely seek this one out again! Another great job by Schneider Weisse!

A - Relaxed pour from a 16oz bottle into a Weizen glass. Quickly dispersing 1 finger head. Moderate to high carbonation. Color is reminiscent of a dark cream soda.

S - Dialed back hefe notes of the typical banana and clove variety. Hints of bubble gum.

T - Very, very subtle banana notes. Bread and biscuit flavors come through, as well as a slight sourness. Light spice.

M - Amazingly clean.

D - Absolutely fantastic. This one is an absolute winner. It's not overly sweet like some hefes. In fact, it is an amazingly refreshing beer. It is so refreshing that I can see having this one during a hot summer day or at a barbeque. It's actually quite shocking in that I've never heard of this beer among fellow connoisseurs or other beer enthusiasts. In fact, I've never heard of this beer at all. Regardless, don't let that stop you. Do yourself a favor and skip the typical hefe standbys and stuff this one in the cart. I'm betting you won't regret it. I certainly didn't.

L: Rusty colour, slightly hazy, thick, white head
S: Banana, sweet bread, cloves, nutmeg, white flour
T: Banana bread, lightly toasted bread, toffee, floury, slight spice notes
F: Medium body, rich, luscious mouthfeel, fairly well carbonated, slightly sweet finish
O: World class hefeweizen! A little on the malty side, but a great balance of banana and clove/spice.

(16.9 oz bottle, code 17.097... poured into a standard weizen glass)

L: hazy-to-cloudy amber liquid - no speckled sediment with a careful pour... tall, tight, cottony off white foam, with a subtle silky shine... medium-thick cap hangs on till the end, but the suds don't want to lace

S: bright, deep dried grass and fresh pale malt, light white bread crust and crumb... it doesn't jet out immediately, but once it does, a bold combo of a stronger bubblegum and softer banana peel esters... subtle smoky phenols in the background... overall, hints at depth, but shows restrained intensity

T: banana comes more to the fore with a soft, citrusy, almost orange peel essence... the malt is clean and subdued, sitting more in the background, lending a subtle dark toastiness... fairly low bitterness, staying rather mellow even after the dregs are added... bit of a perfumy, flower petal, vaguely herbal, seed-like aromatic note in the aftertaste, perhaps slightly metallic as well... the dregs lend a dirty yeast note, adding a pleasant, if delicate grit

F: taut foamy film atop as it flows across the palate, notably light underbelly, virtually no back-end viscosity to speak of... the later addition of the yeast adds that touch of silk it needs... dangerously gulpable

O: dependably solid, arguably densely-layered in flavor... perhaps lacks a bit of depth or definition in character (aside from its 'darker' grain quality)... this was made to drink easily in large quantity, but I would probably always choose their edel-weisse, if given the choice (and a fresh supply)

Darker than I would have expected for a hefeweizen, and I poured it into the wrong glass. But a nice wheat beer.

This pours an orange color with a fairly thick, white head and a high amount of carbonation. The scent is fairly sharp with wheat and banana notes. There are some fairly strong wheat malt flavors with banana and a little clove. Despite this the finish is actually quite light if a little astringent and dry. Overall I would say the body is on the light end of medium, but most of that is in the initial taste and the finish is for sure light. Schneiderweisse in my opinion is kind of a mixed bag. It has some beers that I really love like Tap 1 and 6, but also some that I really didn’t like such as Edel-weisse. I think this is a pretty nice summer beer if you want to drink a hefe, but don’t want to feel full. That being said, it is closer to the lower end of the Schneiderweisse spectrum in my opinion. The negatives are for the most part the same as Edel-weisse, but not as pronounced. It is still a solid beer.

I'm not going to get into all the details of beer advising. I'm only going to say that this beer makes me thing of the modern traditional German song, ""Im Himmel gibt's kein Bier" (i.e., "In Heaven, There is No Beer".) There is no better Weissbeer, period. I'd drink more of it, but it's hard to justify paying 3.5 USD for a 1/2 L when unemployed, even when it's this good.

From the bottle, poured a dark golden brown cloudy color with a thick fluffy white head. The head stayed around for a while, and there was a little lace on the glass, not much. Smells typically of bananas and cloves. Taste begins kind of grainy, sour, and then slight clove-spice. Pretty light body, which helped it seem so refreshing. This is fairly light in alcohol, and very thirst quenching. A summertime favorite of mine for sure!

Poured into its own 500ml glass, which I got from the sales rep when I complained about his Edel-Weisse being stale. Thanks.

Hazy burnt orange/amber, with good effervescence. Head forms an uneven off-white pillow, which slowly sinks.

Aromas of wheat malt, flour, banana esters & cloves. Touch of citrus twang.... smells like a banana cake with lemon icing. Some late caramel hints.

Chewy mouth full of true-to-style flavours, with some sherbet/candy/toffee notes. Slight acidic tingle, no bitterness to speak of.

Curiously dark for a wheat beer, hazy, looks a lot like apricot nectar in colour and appearance. Big bubbly off-white head at first, but it subsides rather quickly. Clove and banana in the aroma, a bit of bread. Tastes like drinking liquid banana/nut bread, no fooling, that's something you don't come across every day. Pretty hardy for a wheat ale, I couldn't handle more than one in a sitting, this is pretty close to a meal in itself (and some people think Guinness is filling--they have no idea).

Pours a nice straw yellow with a serious fluffy head that is very large and hangs around the entire drink.Sweet smells of clover with a bit of malt and corn. Flavor is awesome taste like bubble gum with a clover after finish, spot on for a hefe and very good one of the best wheat beers that I have ever tasted, very flavorful and goes down really smooth. This is one of my favorite summer drinks, I can drink these all day long on a hot afternoon.

I recently decided to have a bit of weiss bier tasting night and decided to pick up a bottle of schneiders.

Poured into a traditional Weiss beer glass. It poured a lot darker than I remembered but left a nice fluffy white head on top and had a very good life to it. The colour was a darker amber almost like maple syrop or a darker honey. Had nice mouthfeel with lots of citrus and spice notes to it. Not as strong of a banana flavour compared to other Weiss Biers but still fairly good.

I would recomend it having it with a Weisswurst and spatzel with gravy or a snitzel on a bun.

The beer pours a hazy orange color with a thick frothy white head that slowly fades. The aroma is great. It has a nice creamy clove and banana scent that is quite intense. It has a wonderful fruity yeast finish. The taste is great as well. It has an awesome wheat flavor and an equally good fruity yeast finish. It goes down smooth and quick with excellent mouthfeel. It is a medium bodied beer with adequate carbonation. This is a perfect drinking hefe. It has everything: aroma, flavor, and mouthfeel. I think I'll have another.

A thick haze clouds its copper/light amber color. It's interesting for Hefe. Definitely on the darker side for the style (at least in my experience). An off-white head easily rises to two fingers and falls nearly as fast. Lacing was on the lighter side of the fence.

Clove spice is very heavy on the nose. It remains pretty aggressive throughout. Light pepper backs it up. There's a little banana in there, but it's not as prevalent as could (or should) be. Grains and earthy notes are present and linger. There's some malt sweetness in there, but it's fairly faint. Spices rule the day with this one. Not bad at all.

Whoa. This is aggressively spicy. A clove and pepper combo assaults the palate and doesn't seem to relent. It's not a bad flavor, but it's a tad much for Hefe. Banana clearly plays a supporting role. I was expecting it to be more at the forefront, but that's not the case. It's a little sweet and malty. Grain and a grassy flavor hang in there for duration. Spices seem to come back around on the tail and give it a very spicy finish. It's pretty good, but a little too spicy to be an ideal Hefe. Still far from bad though.

The body is very light and thin. Carbonation is very active and buzzy. It's not exactly smooth. It's not out of whack for the style, but it could be better. Drinkability is good. I could toss a few of these back, but the flavor makes me long for a Weihenstephaner. Ooops...did I say that out loud?

Schneider Weisse Original is a pretty solid Hefe. It doesn't offend me in any way. I'd like it a little better if the spices were a little more restrained and allowed the other flavors to shine more. They're there, just muted. Overall, it's pretty good, but clearly plays second fiddle to Weihenstephaner's Hefe. Definitely worth checking out nonetheless.

Schneider Weisse Original has a very thick, light beige head and an initially clear, amber appearance, which clouds up once the bottom bit is swished and poured in. Then, little gray chucks float about. This beer is very bubbly, like Champagne. There is a small bit of lacing left behind. The aroma is of clean water, grain husks, and some sweetness. Taste is of white wheat bread, sourness, sweetness, a touch of mild hop bitterness, yeast, and a ghost of coriander. Mouthfeel is light to medium, and Schneider Weisse finishes dry and quite refreshing. Overall, this is a very good beer.
