It's the art of brewing in its purest form for true wheat beer connoisseurs: "Original" – the traditional wheat beer brewed unaltered in accordance with the original recipe of Georg I. Schneider since 1872 – and since then simply marquee. Of a deep amber colour, harmonically balanced and strong. That's what Bavaria tastes like. And that's also what coming home tastes like - in the comfort of your own four walls as well as at your convivial "Stammtisch".

From the bottle, it pours a hazy amber color with a nice off-white head that slowly reduces. The scent is bready with notes of banana and spice. The mouth follows with a smooth bready brew with notes of banana and spices.

Holy heck, this is one bangin' Hefe! I guess I shouldn't be too surprised as they also brew the Weizenbock that's possibly my favorite beer of the 1,072 I've tried thus far. There's a semi-sweet maltiness to this that just lets it shine on my tastebuds more so than even some of the best straight up wheats. Wowzers.

The beer is quite dark in color and is not very carbonated due to the bottle conditioning, I presume. It's a little different for a hefeweizen. The head doesn't stay for long so it doesn't look too attractive.
I thought it to be a little more acidic than other hefeweizens, but it has a healthy wheat palate.
All in all, the mouth feel is really hampered by undercarbonation, feels flat. But the hazy, unfiltered wheatiness is something I would come back to again.

500ml bottle
Pours hazy golden brown amber orange with a dense creamy lasting white foam head. Smells like toasty bready wheaty cereal grains, light caramel, apple, pear, banana, clove, pepper, apricot, citrus, with floral earthy herbal hops. Tastes like creamy wheat, caramel, honey, toasty bready malts, cereal grain, banana, sweet cinnamon clove spice, subtle apple, pear, white pepper, apricot, citrus, with floral earthy herbal hops. Feels crisp, dry and refreshing, medium bodied, creamy smooth with moderate carbonation. Overall a really great Hefeweizen.

This one packs a punch. Darker than expected. Heavy flavours of malty bread, cloves and a nutty feel. Dense but delicious!

Pours a deep amber color with a minimal head. The aroma is doughy and slightly sweet with hints of banana and clove. On the palate, the flavors of bready malt, fruity and spicy yeast esters, and subtle hoppy notes of citrus and apricot are balanced. The mouthfeel is soft and the carbonation is a little light. Overall, a solid choice for fans of the style.
