The 'Tap 7' variety, is not a patch on the 'Tap 6' variety. Similar in looks, chestnut grey and cloudy. Thinner, with a harder and rather spear-like on the palette tinniness (in comparison, between the two).

This one cost me e0.95 from the local specialist beer shop; the #6 was e1.19.The e0.24 premium is very well spent is my advice!

Hazy amber color with a sweet, banana, and earth spices, slight lemon and wheat flavor, starts sweet but is balanced by wheat and banana flavor with some earthy spice.
Smooth, creamy, medium body, a great Hefeweizen, very nice smell and flavor and is pronounced in this beer. It is an enjoyable beer overall.

500 mL bottle poured into a weizen glass

A- A hazy amber color with a small one finger white head.

S- Sweet, banana, bubblegum, some earth spices, cloves.

T- Bananas, slight lemon tartness, nice wheat flavor, starts sweet but is balanced by the tartness and the wheat, some earthy spice.

M- Smooth, creamy, medium body.

O- A nice Hefeweizen, but it doesn't wow me. I enjoyed their Weizenbock and Eisbock more.

Poured from 500 ml bottle into red wine glass.

Appearance: A cloudy, yellow-brown. 3/4 inch white head which disappears fairly quickly but 1/4 inch head remains clung to the glass due to adhesion. Nice lacing.

Smell: Medium smell of banana bread, esters, malts. Not overpowering but not subtle either.

Taste: The taste of banana bread isn't as pronounced as the smell but is still there. Tasty.

Mouthfeel: Medium carbonation. Taste lingers for a short time after the sip. Really tasty burps!

Overall: I don't like this quite as much as Tap 6 Aventinus. The banana smell and flavor is VERY pronounced in that beer and it is fantastic. This beer is not quite as heavy as aventinus either. Still an enjoyable beer overall though.

Poured with a lovely one finger head that lingered for a little bit but then subsided to a fairly modest white top.

Beer is a medium hazy light amber color, much redder than I would have expected, you can see about half-way through this one.

This beer smells great! Very fruity in the nose with hints of warm banana bread, but not over-poweringly fruity to the point where it is too much, warm and nicely balanced.

Beer has soft mouthfeel, not overly carbonated. I get a lot of yeasty flavors and breadiness, not in a bad way though, its very warm and inviting quite delicious.

This is a wonderful example of a german Hefeweizen, definitely something I will be buying this summer!
