A- Pours a nice hazy orange. 3/8 head. Can easily see carb bubbles. Minimal lacing. Fine sediment in second pour.

S- Varying fruit smell and even bubble gum. That gives way to wheat.

T- Starts with varying fruit taste including banana, apple, apricot, orange, and mild cherries. Mild clove, mild hops, and slight alcohol taste give way to a tasty wheat and malt finish . Extra flavor in second pour probably due to sediment.

M- A lot of carbonation. Medium bodied. Semi-dry finish.

D- Highly drinkable. Nice to relax and enjoy this one.

1/2 litre bottle. I think this is a date-code of some type.
08.189 1-2

This poured out a bright, slightly-cloudy, golden color. It produced about 1/2" of creamy head that quickly faded. Very little lacing. Very attractive, and tempting looking brew.

Smells like orange-blossoms and apricots. It has a very pleasing aroma.

I'm detecting flavors of honey, dried apricots, blood-orange, and biscuit-flavored malts. The fruity yeast compounds are there, start to finish. Very little hop bitterness. Nearly perfect!

Moderate-light carbonation. Alcohol is more noticeable on the tongue than the nose. In short, this is complex, delicious, and very drinkable. I can say. This is one of the best (maybe the best) Hefeweizen I've had.

Gorgeous looks: thick, pale, fresh squeezed oranges, some lacing. A nice complex aroma, initially light fruit such as oranges come to mind but then wheat, alcoholic undertones. Thick, wheat taste: notes of light fruit (oranges, peaches, pears), light alcohol, creamy, some vanilla esters echo as aftertaste. Medium-heavy in body with a fizzy mouthfeel. Hefeweizens always bring back memories of summer...I close my eyes and enjoy.

(Served in a weizen glass)

A- This beer pours a hazy yellow body with a sl orange hue to it. There is a sea of tiny bubbles that support a thick spongy off-white head that last for about half of the beer.

S- This beer has a floral edelwiess flower aroma with a soft doughy aroma which is quickly followed by a crusty bread note. The finish has a green herbal note with an apple cider aroma that grows as the beer warms. There is also a perfumed club soda quality that comes through as the beer warms aswell.

T- This smooth fresh dough flavor has a faint green flower note with a pleasant soft citrus quality to it. The tosted bread crust flavor comes through softly at the finish and adds a nice note to the malt flavors.

M- This beer has a medium mouthfeel with a slippery texture and a very delicate fizzy finish.

D- This beer is smooth and soft with a subtle complexity that grows as the beer warms.

500ml bottle

08:276 1-3
0544 2722

poured into weizen glass

big gusher! lost a lot of beer! :-(

murky, orangey straw. lots of fluffy foamy head, but fades upon drinking to a thin yet constant layer. one big half-ring of lace on top, then nothing for a little bit, and then lots of lace again later in the 2nd half of the glass.

fruity pears and banana esters in the nose. spice note is light; clove, nutmeg and also herbal, bordering on minty. bread and yeast, with a hint of grassy hop rounding things out.

similar fruitiness and yeasty bread in the flavor, with even a hint of cherry bubblegum. clove spice meets crisp, light phenols in the finish, with a moderate bitterness that helps to finish pleasantly in a mix of all the above flavors.

smooth, almost creamy, faint resins or acidity in the finish. moderate but complimentary carbonation.

a shame about the gusher. seems schneider needs to work on this. not the first time with their brews for me...

Picked up a 500ml bottle from BevMo in late November for $3.99.

Beer poured a cloudy orange with a white head that retains well. Carbonation keeps yeast floating like snow in a Christmas ornament. Nose is lemony wheat and hints of banana. Taste is light lemon wheat, hints of banana and clove, and a hint of alcohol. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, carbonation is nicely active, and it is pretty smooth. Overall drinkability is good. This is a nice hefe with enough qualities that make it a beer worth seeking.

Pours a cloudy peachy orange with lots of sediment and dark floaters. Suprisingly not much head at all, which is sad.

Smells of cloves, banana bread, spicy, citrusy, sweet and malty, very nice.

Tastes like it smells, lots of cloves, banana, maybe some cinammon, subtle hoppiness, yeasty, a bit winey, very nice hefeweizen, better than their original IMO.

Average low carbonated mouthfeel, nothing special. Very drinkable, I really liked this.

500 ml bottle I picked up at Green's off Ponce in Atlanta, GA. I am always a sucker for a good German brew, so I figured why not. Plus Schneider has yet to disappoint me. Served up in my Weihenstephaner Weizen glass.

A: Pours a pretty good looking dark yellow to light orange color. Has that really nice and deep looking Hefe look. The initial pour took on a really nice finger of clean, white head. The only bad thing is that the head has almost zero lasting power whatsoever. No lasting foam, means no lace on the glass. A redeeming factor and a pretty impressive quality this beer has is its incredible carbonation activity. I don't know if I have seen a beer with this kind of crazy and fast carbonation that just doesn't quit. I have been working this for well over half an hour, and this carbonation does not quit. Good looking brew going on in this here Weizen.

S: Holy Hefeweizen, Batman. This definitely has the hefe chops in this aroma. So much of that beautiful wheat goodness in here. Big chunks of fresh banana just pour out of this glass. The bubble gum is just all over the place. This just has that really traditional bubble gum smell that easily reminds me of some big league chew. Nice sugary goodness. Then you get some nice spicy goodness with some clove and nutmeg. At the end it pulls some tropical goodness with some pineapple and citrus. Good, God, I think I love you.

T: This beer is damned good and the flavor almost perfectly mirrors the nose. That wheat is so clean and earthy its crazy. The banana is so clean in here and just easily reminds me of fresh peeled and cut banana. The spices are a nice compliment with some subtle and tasty nutmeg and clove oomph. Tropical flavors mingle in here to jazz it up a bit with some citrusy orange and pineapple presence and just a faint touch of coconut. This all rounds out with that big time and classic bubblegum tasty goodness. Lip smacking fantastic.

M: This is medium in the body department, but it is absolutely the light side of medium. It does at times have a touch of wateriness to it that at times makes you think this could be a fault or possibly a good thing. ABV has a touch of warmth to it but no worries because it stays cool and refreshing. The carbonation is on with some huge crispy goodness. Aftertaste is all some good bubblegum tastyness.

D: As a hefe should be, this beer is very much in the drinkable category. All around this beer shines but those flavors and aromas kick ass. I can see myself keeping a few bottles of this in the house during the summer months for an easy drinking a tasty hefe. It is a nice stand up to the Weihenstephaner Hefe, and acts as a good sub for some slightly different flavors. Will buy again and absolutely enjoyed. Get some.

500ml bottle poured into a weizen glass.

A = The standard hazy, swirls of sediment in the liquid are there, but so are a lot of little floaties that are much more substantial. The head forms quickly but is very fizzy, almost like soda and it dies pretty quickly.

S = Strong banana, nutmeg, light hints of coconut, this is a very fruity tropical smelling beer. Good balance between the funkier yeast notes and the nice bread malt scents.

T = Strong, sweet flavors of a banana malt milkshake, light white pepper notes, some other spices, especially nutmeg. A very good hefe.

M = Medium body, very good mouthcoating, frothy steady carbonation feel without to much foam nor to much sting.

D = This is a very good drinker. I find the appearance less than spectacular, but it is otherwise a very god experience and I can see having this often on hot afternoons.

Poured browinsh cloudy with yeast bits from a colorful green bottle. High active foam that disappates quickly.

Smell is classic hefe - citrus/banana/clove. Very noticeable and pleasant.

Clean crisp taste - wheaty, citrusy - all told delicious. The carbonation is active in the mouthfeel from the bottle fermentation.

This is a solid brew, highly recommended.

I really enjoyed this one. One of the better German beers I can find. It's also Organic which is a nice bonus. Bottle fermented and unfiltered is always a favorite of mine.

A - Nice looking wheat beer. Honey color, light carbonation, nice and unfiltered which makes me think it's going to have some nice flavor.

S - The expected Banana and Clove. Crisp apple. Clean.

T - Clean and flavorful. Very full and round in flavor but not overpowering. Very Bavarian in style and just plain good. I couldn't pick out any complex notes on this round, suffice to say that it tastes like you'd expect from the smell, but it was just so smooth.

M - Creamy and very smooth, light carbonation, soft and a touch of dry. Very nice.

D - Great. It goes down real smooth. 6.2% abv really creeps up on you. It's easy to drink this fast and easy to reach for another, which is rare for me with these Bavarian styles.

Nerd Notes:
Organic Cascade and Hallertaur Hops. Organic Barley and Wheat. 6.2% ABV. Bottle Conditioned.

Half-liter German bottle with some code on the label; brewed with organic wheat, barley, Cascade and Hallertauer. It pours a nice, appropriately-cloudy golden orange, with lots of carbonation, and topped with two fingers of fluffy white head that doesn't lace, but never fades away. Hops and bananas in the nose, with yeast, a touch of clove, wheat, and bready/toasty malts. Tastes of bananas and wheat, lightly sweet, with spicy phenols, citric hops, and a late, but mild, bitterness. Bready malts and a breath of alcohol are in the mix as well, leading to a mild phenolic and grainy finish. The body starts light with prickly carbonation, but it mellows nicely, thickening the beer in the process, coating the mouth and demanding another swig. A delicious, well-balanced hefeweizen that is packed with flavor and quite easy to drink despite the above-average alcohol. A damn good brew.

Appearance- a cloudy golden yellow colored beer on the pour, high carbonation with lots of bubbles streaming all through the glass, lots can be seen in terms of yeast ect. in the glass, a moderate white thinning head, really beautiful bubbles can still be seen as it calms from pour, really alot going on even right from the get go of the appearance

Smell- Aromatic all around, lots strong yeast, corn, wheat, freshness, great odor, citrus hops

Taste- VERY DELICIOUS, long lasting finish and extreme balanced beer, alot of zesty wheat flavors with a definite slight citrus or lemon fruit kick, even some definite slight malts and hops balancing each other out, a complex beer in the flavor department that just tastes so very fresh and so pure impressive for sure

Mouthfeel- Light and crisp, with some carbonation but nothing crazy or over pouring,

Drinkability- I thought crazily highly of this beer, even keep in mind I am someone who in many cases have not really loved wheat beers in the past but I think this may very well be the one that has won over a new found love and respect for the style, its so fresh, so complex, and extremely refreshing, this is a beer where you can just taste and feel the purity and quality of the ingredients that must be being put into the beer, a beer I am glad I have found and will have many more times to come, give it a try I hope you will enjoy as much as I have

Poured from a 16.9 oz. bottle into a weizen glass.

Appears hazy golden-orange with a one inch white head. It falls to a cap and leaves little in the way of lacing.

Aroma is quite citrusy, probably since they used Cascade hops, with the typical banana and bubble gum, some breadiness, and a very low profile clove character.

Taste is bready up front with notes of banana and bubble gum then it ends up becoming quite citrusy, like lemon and orange, with a slight hint of clove spiciness in the finish.

Mouthfeel is light bodied, this one's easy to drink, and pretty smooth and creamy.

I'm not sure I really liked the citrus character in this one so much. At least not as much as regular Hefeweizens. It was quite good either way though.

Pours a dirty mustard yellow with lots of haze and a generous head that dies quickly and doesn't leave much lace. While it looks fine, it doesn't look extraordinary. Love the yeast-sediment haze though...love it.

Aroma is one of the best of any German beer I've ever had, hefeweizen or otherwise. It has similarities to a fresh, quality Belgian wit--lots of clove, citrus, exotic spices sweet and sharp, and an undisclosed (of course) yeast strain lending a lot of character to the beer. The requisite hefeweizen banana presence is here, neither dominant nor wimpy. Add the cascade hops this was brewed with, which show themselves clearly the nose (you read right--a German beer with cascade hops) and you've got a winner.

An intensely flowery, spicy jumble of flavors hits the tongue first, followed by mellower malt elements, particularly butterscotch, banana and caramel. Tart lemon dances on the tongue and rides into the finish, where the exotic spice/flower elements continue to work their magic. Earthy and balanced, this is one of the best-tasting hefeweizens I've ever had. The hops really do their thing here, taking a more defined role than many others of the style, yet not catering to inveterate hopheads either.

Mouthfeel is almost unnoticed, really. The carbonation lends a mild sting, contrasting the flat smoothness of the body. Compared to the lively characteristics of the aroma and flavor, I expected more from the texture, but oh well, it does the job well enough.

Brewed according to the Reinheitsgebot--no kidding!? I suppose I should never again complain how the German brewing law of 1516 is restrictive. This is just plain wonderful, and puts a little twist on the style while staying true to it. Highly recommended to one and all.

The beer was chilled and served in a pint glass.

Appearance: The beer pours a light orange to peach coloration. Particles hang in suspension in the body of the beer. The head is a finger and a half high with a biege coloration.

Smell: Cloves and more cloves lead the charge to my nostrils. If you arent sure what cloves smell like in a beer this is it. Very subltle bannana and topps bubble gum from the trading cards aroma. It may be my wishful thinking but I think I am smelling citrus.

Taste: The beers flavor is spicey cloves, prickly pepper to begin with. Then the beer delivers a bit of banana. This beer never goes over to the sweet realm. Very nice wheat sour dough type notes.

Mouthfeel / Drinkability: The beer has a smooth well carbonated medium body. The beer is easy to drink. I could see sessioning this beer on a hot day.

Pours a hazy orange color with white foam that quickly disappears.

Very fresh nose with lots of yeasty character, tangerine fruit and mulling spices comes through despite brewed according to Reinheitsgebot which means it must come from the choice of malts, yeast and hops. It is a very inviting nose with quite a bit of complexity.

High carbonation, dry mouthfeel and slightly bitter. The yeasty components comes forward in the taste as well with a nice green herbal bite and clove spice at the end. I find this very refreshing and invigorating. Alcohol is barely noticeable and there is no funk whatsoever on the finish.

This is one of my favorite hefes so far, highly recommended!

Very nice pale color, slight cloudiness and great carbonation. What a great fruity yet rich taste. I love this hefe, it is sometimes a little hard to find but well worth the hunt. Take your time and enjoy with some fruit and like every beer (in my opinion), great with some German mountain cheese and dark bread. WOW, what a hefe!

Purchased from Beers of the World, Rochester NY. Everything a Hefe should be, and then some. Great spiciness, not too bitter or malty. Wonderful mouthfeel. Nice head retention. Cloves and Cinnamon. A great beer to relax with. Plus, it's organic, and how many brews can boast that claim?

Poured from a 1pt .9oz bottle into a Weiss glass.

A - Poured a cloudy brownish color. The pour produced a thick head of slightly off-white foam with a good amount of sediment.

S - Yeasty. Aromas of sourdough bread, cloves and a bit of citrus.

T - Malty/Yeasty. Flavors of dark bread, clove and a slight bit of banana. Slightly herbal.

MF&D - High quality and easy drinking. A must try.

500 ml bottle into a Hefe glass.

The initial pour is quite foamy at first but it doesn't take too long to get it all into the glass. Pours a hazy orange with some straw colored highlights and several fingers of poofy brite-white head. Settles down into a solid creamy layer that retains well, leaving some solid lacing down the sides of the glass. The aroma is fairly vibrant with notes of wheat, orange, lemon, bananas, and a fairly prominent clove spiciness.

The taste starts with a firm base of wheat sweetness that props up strong citric notes of orange and lemon as well as some yeasty bananas and spicy pepper and clove. The mouthfeel has a moderate carbonation to it, with a crisper feel that then gets creamier as it spreads out across the palette. Maybe a bit too thick at times?

Solid selection here tonight. Nice full flavors made this an enjoyable quaff but I think that maybe if the spiciness was toned down just a touch and the carbonation ramped up, it would have increased the drinkibility even more.

This 100% organic hefeweizen pours a dark yellow to orange color. Its hazy and it looks thick since its unfiltered. This is not some pale yellow hefeweizen to be served with a fruit wedge. Personally, I think only fruits put fruit in beer, but hey what can ya do? The head is big and fluffy white. It sticks around for quite awhile before settling, also very decent lacing!

Smell is sweet fruit, cinnamon, cloves, and some nice yeastiness. Quite a pleasant smelling beer. If this beer is half as tasty as it smells I am in for a treat.

Tastes spicy and sweet. A couple sips and I can make it some green apples, cloves and some wheat with a kick of bannana. Its definitely not a big, juicy fruity beer like Aventinus. Instead its a little more thin in mouthfeel and very easy drinking. This is pretty much perfect on a warm/hot day. Its very thirst quenching and refreshing.

Bottle. Gusher!! Pours a cloudy light orange with a thick, foamy white head. Aroma of clove, banana, apple skins, light fruits, citrus, and Belgian yeast. Why is this not a German hefeweizen?? Flavor is nice and sweet with lots of light fruits and a nice wheat and yeasty backbone. Quite tasty. Definitely a hefe though...
