I enjoy this entry from Schneider Weisse, but I'll be honest: it's simply not as good as their other offerings, including their standard "hefe". As someone who gives zero shits about "organic" certification, that means there's little incentive to choosing this over a long list of other German hefes.

Hits the marks of the style: banana, clove, wheat flakes; cloudy, turbid yellow. Less head than I expect from the style, thick-ish body, middle-of-the-road carbonation. Arguably more of a hop presence than others of the style (hops of a Germanic, herbal sort).

Another good one form Schneider, but not up to the level of their Taps 5 or 7. High fluffy head, nice cloudy body from the sediment, aroma of banana bread. Substantial weight and slick mouthfeel , very bready taste, short and slightly sweet finish.

Whenever I like the style of this beer! With incredible quality, I think this beer is the best of this style. Balanced with just the right touch of complexity, a pleasure. Color, taste in the mouth, flavors ... what a great beer!

a: cloudy, hazy golden orange color. towards the edge of the glass its a bit lighter, with a darker mass in the center and top. it poured a 2 finger solid white head, but it quickly went down to a 1/2 finger

s: ripe pears, bananas, green apple skin, tons of wheat, a hint of lemongrass, and some sweet malt

t: banana and pear upfront followed immediately by a kick from the peppery Belgian yeast spice. there is a light caramel sweetness then, followed by some of that green apple, finally a big dry crackery malt backbone. finish is slightly dry, and features a little more of the yeast

m: medium mouthfeel, with a nice carbonation level - good for the style, enough to make the lighter fruit flavors pop

o: very good. the Belgian yeast is featured a bit more prominently here than some others in the style, but thats not a bad thing. makes for a very crisp drinker that also includes some of the nice hefeweizen flavors

Purchased cold at the Bevie, price forgotten. Pours an almost perfectly clear golden-amber, with a two finger soft and creamy white head. Aromas are of yeast, bread, spice, fruit. Taste is delicious, with fruit (what others describe as banana - but I just don't get that) and spice, malty sweetness, and low bitterness. Mouth is just right, medium body, soft and creamy, perfect carbonation. Overall, an excellent wheat beer - on par with Vitus.

Pours a cloudy looking copper and dark golden color; reminds me of a cider. An aggressive pour yielded a massive foam head which took a while to settle down, the frothy lace retained throughout.
The sweet aroma of bananas hits the nose immediately, as well as cloves and some kind of peppery spice. This one is a pleasure to sniff.
There is great complexity and flavor in the taste. The first sip is sweet on the tongue, again, bananas. After a few sips, the peppery spices are felt and balance out the fruity sweetness. There is even a slight lemony flavor in the finish.
The body is medium and the carbonation is soft. This one feels chewy in the mouth.
Although Hefeweizen is not my favorite style, I was tremendously impressed by this one. Aside from Weihenstephaner, it might be my favorite Hefeweizen thus far.
