L- Deep chestnut brown, clear, pours with short pale tan head.
S- Quite deep, some pungency and malty/fruity richness.
T- The taste follows the malty/fruity^. It's surprisingly sweet for a 7.0%, strikingly so, it's a good job I served it well chilled.
F- Well it's quite heavy and rich, I suspect it's intended as a slow sippin' winter beer?
O- The malt/fruit of the taste is nice, but the sweetness of this is seriously OTT in my experience. Shame, I certainly will not be buying this one again and expect to be rating this below it's current score of 83.
250ml bottle Bb: 02-02-2021 Bought from BeersOfEurope (UK). Dinky 250ml bottle. The lable has been redesigned it's now simpler, smaller, in blue/orange+white and art deco style.

De cervezas belgas, Almuñecar. 5 meses pasada de fecha. En copa Grimbergen. Viendo Mr Robot 3x09-10. Excelente dubbel, con las notas acarameladas muy ricas y equilibradas, dandole un sabor muy agradable sin resultar en absoluto cargante ni cabezona. 0 notas fuera de lugar. Lastima su pequeño formato (25cl)

look: 3.75 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 3.5
by OlaB from Norway
Pours a dark-brown color with a small top of beige head that dissolves quickly and leave some lacings on the glass. Aroma is of dark malts, caramel, raisins and dates, but is not particularly strong. The taste is sweet and malty with notes of raisins, caramel and bread. Finish is slightly dry and bitter. The flavours and the finish is a little flat, and the sweetness is a little intens.
Medium carbonation with a medium mouthfeel. Mouthfeel is soft and clean but a little watery.
A decent and drinkable dubbel, but nothing very exiting with it.

A good Belgian dubbel bought in a french supermarket (Carrefour).
I wasn’t expecting it to be better than Westmalle or Wesvleteren but it’s still a fine beer on a cooler fall evening.

Had on tap. Nice amber/copper appearance. The malt work is well done, with both sweet and earthy tones. The smell is more classic to style with caramel, yeast and malt leading. Overall a solid dubbel, but nothing too luxurious or adventurous.

On draught at In De Wildeman, appearence is dark brown with a small tan head leaving very heavy lace.
Smell is sweet, sugary, grapes.
Taste is very sweet and fruity. Intense grape esters remind me of Abbey De Rocs.
Mouthfeel is sticky but light.
Drinkability is high for me, a lovely beer with lots of fruity esters, which I love, accentuating the sugars without being to cloying.

A: cola colour, small head that doesn't linger
S: citrus, some malts, a lot of sweetness and not very complex
T: some malts, hint of lemon and an overall sweetness
M: some creaminess; slightly undercarbonated; sticky
O: reminds me more of cola than of beer, it is drinkable but nothing more

by Jugs_McGhee from Texas
Bottle served into a Ciney goblet in a cafe in Brussels, Belgium. Reviewed from notes taken June 2011. Cost was 3.00 euro.
A: Pours a one finger head of nice cream, good thickness, and average retention. Colour is a nontransparent dark brown.
Sm: Caramel, hops, cream, and light toffee.
T: Nice cream on the finish. Caramel, toffee, and full barley come through. Very pleasant. Some nutty hops. Very balanced. Well built, with good layering - especially of the malts. Attention was paid to this beer. No alcohol comes through.
Mf: Creamy, smooth, and wet. Too high an ABV to be refreshing. Complementary of the flavours on the body.
Dr: High ABV, good quality, and very fair pricing. I'd have this again for sure. Recommended for fans of dubbels.
