Got this in Malaysia. 320ml can poured into a pint glass. The ABV is listed as 6.8%.

Black in color with thick tan head with very good retention, it slowly sinks to an eternal thin bubble layer atop and leaves numerous ring and patch of sticky lacing all around.

Espresso, dark chocolate, slight creamy, roasted, burnt biscuit, a bit smoke, dark bread, and some earthy hop in a nose.

So espresso in the palate sensation, it is also with dark chocolate, slight creamy, roasted coffee bean, slight astringency, burnt biscuit, a bit smoke, dark bread, and some hop bitterness at the end together with all those roasted qualities.

Light to medium body with good crisp and moderate lively carbonation through the palate, semi-smooth mouthfeel with a pleasantly dry finish.

I have to admit this one is pretty good despite being brewed under the supervision of macro brewery.

Great unexpected find in Malaysia, a good cheaper alternative to Guiness Foreign Extra stout, high alcohol and full of flavour, recommended!

A good find in Malaysia, where the non-descript Tiger beer is available everywhere. Like another reviewer, I enjoyed this fine stout in Malacca, as well as in a few other places in this modern economic dynamo of a country.

It's a very dark, rich, heavy stout. It is quite sweet, and really packs a punch at 8%, but it is drinkable and pretty outstanding in an otherwise barren desert for beer drinkers. Comes in second to Lion Stout from Sri Lanka for best brew in southern Asia. Difficult to find even in touristy Malacca.

330ml Can in Melaka, Malaysia (RM7.50):
Black with a huge, two inch thick head that is creamy in texture and looks to be a tan brown colour. This gradually reduced in size to leave a finger-sized head with the same texture as before.

Sweet with a strong alcohol aroma and plenty of grain. There is some chocolate and dark fruits such as fig and plums. I could detect a little vanilla too as well as some sugar and a bit of raisin.

Sweet with some dark fruits from the nose coming through as expected. There is some plum and raisin with a huge amount of alcohol and further sweetness from the sugars. The taste was somewhat sickening in parts and very strong.

Smooth & creamy with a lot of alcohol throughout and a very sweet mouthfeel. There is a sickening feel to it in parts as well and the balance wasn't great with it coming across far to strongly.

This was a beer I was really looking forward to and wanted to enjoy but it proved to be very hard going in places and was an incredibly strong beer that could have been toned down slightly, although the fact it is 8% abv. is more to do with helping people get drunk that to do with imparting particular flavours on the beer.

Can from 7-Eleven in Kuala Lumpur.

A - Pours black with a good 2 finger iced capuccino type head. Good retention with half a finger, but no lace.

S - Iced coffee, lot's of chocolate, condensed milk, vanilla, rich dark fruits. Quite nice actually. Reminds me of the aroma from an aged Trois Mousquetaires Porter Baltique. Not bad at all for a Carlsberg product.

T - Quite sweet. Lot's of chocolate and rich sweet flavours. Overly sweet chocolate. Really sweet flavours/sugary notes come first then come the straight chocolate notes.

M - Aggressive bitterness, mild carbonation, full body. Proper feel to this one.

O/D - A good alternative to the lagers around Asia. Quite sweet, but in a better way than a lot of the corny, adjuncty lagers around. Decent.

What an interesting find. I came across this in a supermarket in Singapore. It's quite dark with a massive, foamy tan head that settles in uneven mounds of froth and leave tremendous lacing all over the glass. There is quite a lot of sediment, which I haven't noticed in other stouts. The smell is very focused on chocolate. The taste is mocha, chocolate stout, with a very impressively bitter finish – more bitter than most stouts I've had. Also, the finish is less dry than most stouts. The mouthfeel is very creamy. This is a good drinkable stout. Definitely does not come across as an 8% beer.

A - Looks like a stout. I mean its black, has a darkish tan head, and looks, like a stout.
S - Brown sugar, nice chocolate aroma.
T - Prodigous amounts of bitterness on the very long finish. Simple coffee-like flavors.
M - Light bodied dispite the big, hoppiness.
D - This was great fun. I want one any day I go to the beach.

A big thanks to the Silverhand for bringing this back form Malaysia.
