Adirondack Pale AleAdirondack Pale Ale

Brewed by:
Adirondack Pub & Brewery
New York, United States

Style: American Pale Ale (APA)

Alcohol by volume (ABV): not listed

Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
Dirty Blonde Ale is a frisky, unfiltered, "au natural" American-hopped session ale with lots of personality. Brewing with American ale yeast keeps her casual, flirty~never boring. Enormous Centennial & Cascade dry hops lend a strong grapefruit aroma & pleasant citrus flavor. Unfiltered Dirty Blonde offers more body, flavor & smoother mouth-feel than her filtered cousins.

I'm not much of an intensive reviewer... I don't care about lacing or the different notes of flavor. Is it good.. Ok... Lousy..

This is simply ok... Nothing special at all. A very typical pale ale. It's nothing I'd seek out or pay extra for...

A: The beer is relatively clear yellow in color and has a moderate to high amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a two finger high bright white head that has good retention properties and consistently left a short head covering the surface.
S: Light to moderate aromas of citrusy hops and funk are present in the nose.
T: The taste is similar to the smell but the funky flavors are a little stronger and seem to somewhat resemble bits of Brett yeast. Slight amounts of bitterness are perceptible.
M: It feels medium-bodied and a little smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: With the notes of funk in the smell and taste, this beer tastes like a hybrid between an APA and an American Wild Ale.

Bottle from Lake Placid. Best Before 11.20.14.

A - Pours a nice golden colour with a bit of haze. Lot's of carbonation and a soapy two finger white head. Good lace rings and a solid finger of retention.

S - Lemon, some grass.

T - A bit of an odd flavour for a pale ale. Stone fruit, soapy, metallic, herbal, lemon. It all mixes in a bit of an unpleasant way.

M - Good carbonation, extremely harsh finish, medium body.

O/D - Won't finish this. Not drinkable at all. Such an off flavour for a pale ale. Nope.
