(best before date - L06/03/15 - poured into a balloon)
A: second time having this now - huge, cottony-spongy of foam both times - couldn't pour the whole bottle in the glass... mostly clear, orange-y gold liquid... the head takes a little bit to recede into the liquid... maintains a medium-full, misty cap... fair amount of crystalline, sudsy lace
S: spicy, lightly fruity-estery sweet, vaguely-sulfur Danish lager-like character... faint caramel-kissed peach note in the back
T: like a mildly-drier Leffe Blond with a hint of wholegrain cracker... moderate phenolic spiciness in the finish, as well as a chamomile-like, apple-y note... surprisingly assertive, flowery bitterness toward the end, as well as a residual citrus-pith tartness... has an overall industrial Tripel yeast character
M: roundish, light-medium bodied enveloped in an expansive foamy wash... bit of a tart puckering left on the edges of the tongue... all in all, quite dry
O: not bad... probably wouldn't seek it out to savor on its own... maybe best suited as an on-the-go or happy hour beer... curious to pair it with the cheeses listed on their site - I can see it pairing nice with a sharp, salty type

Small sample from 330 ml bottle, as Tongerlo Blond, at Vectura-messe. Pale blonde colour. Light and fresh aroma and flavour, notes of mild spices and a little fruit. Nice and refreshing, will sample again.

not a bad blonde this, it’s sweeter than you’d maybe anticipate from the nose, orange, caramel, biscuity malt, nice floral hop character to it, belgian yeast flavours of course, light bitterness on the finish. light bodied with high carbonation. quite drinkable, grand beer

Semi-blind tasted, I just know the brewer, name/style and ABV%. I'll read the lable, Description etc (above) and other reviews if I find the beer a bit 'mysterious' afterwards - I find it more fun this way!
L- Mid amber with a tiny amount of haze and a 5mm fine-bubble off-white head. (ps 10mins later, holds well). There is minor sediment left in the bottle.
S- Smells quite bright with some Belgian yeast notes.
T- The taste is to the dry side. It starts as briefly dry, then I get. also briefly. the malty body and finally back into a hoppy-dry finish.
F- To the dry side, that especially is the quite bold impression left on the tongue+palate after swallowing.
O- Seems to me more of a warm weather beer than a mid winter one (note to self re: BE-Blonde's). The way the malts+hops balance briefly just before the swallow/finish is nice. Overall it is a bit dry for me, well esp. when it's snowing outdoors like today..
Now it's reviewed and rated, time to read the bottle... 'Abbey beer, bottle-refermented' Plus it has a World Beer Award logo on it but the printing overall is all so small it's a challenge to read by lamplight.
330ml bottle £2.85 BB: 23/03/2022. Bought from BeautifulBeers/BurySt.Edmunds as part of a large pick-your own consignment to London.

Pours a clear golden color with a medium top of white head that dissolves quickly and leave some lacings. The aroma is of light bread, honey, banana, apples and spices.
The flavour is sweet with fruity tones and some light malt tones in the back. The flavours then transit to more dry at the finish with a medium bitterness. The aftertaste has good lenght. Except from that the flavours is not balanced very good and it also is a little flat.
High carbonation with a medium body.
Mouthfeel is soft and smooth.
A decent blonde ale, but is far better options of belgian ales out there.

Yeast blond bomb. Malt is present but lost underneath the yeast. Faint fruits and honey try to help, but get covered up by poorly hidden booze. Just not a great belgian blond, lacking depth and complexity with glaring weaknesses.

Pours light golden with a decent initial head quick to slip.
Aroma is quite bitter, but bags of malt and hops, great for a blonde.
Taste is more of the same, very malty and definitely its best feature.
Feel is a little artificial on the sweetness side but still very addictive.
Overall a very solid brew, it is one of the better blondes.
