Picked this up off the sale rack for 20 buck per case. Not bad but I wouldn't pay full price for it. slightly better than Stella but in the same vein.

250ml Keg at Magic Rubens, Brussels (€3.00):
Quite a basic & at times cheap tasting lager than was bland for the most part with some light bitterness & grassy touches. There was touches of sweetness from some corn before a few bread malts came through along with the odd vegetable adjunct but it was a poor offering & probably the worst I had when in Belgium too.

25cl bottle

A pale golden lager with a white head. Since my lager glass broke in the dishwasher I am using my Gouden Carolus chalice so that's what resulted in a small head. Quite sure it has a decent head in a proper glass.

Smells of grainy malts mainly, some leafy hops only a tiny, tiny hint of citrus like fruits.

Quite a decent taste, no nasty off-putting flavours, grainy and a slight hint of citrus. No much bitterness.

Watery mouthfeel with quite alot of carbonation.

Overall quite a decent beer, not the best lager I have had but probably one of the better macrolagers from the Low Countries.

Straw gold, no carbonation, topped with 4 fingers of fluffy white head.

Hay, straw, molasses, very much like a German pils.

Hay, straw, molasses, glue, light fruitiness.

Light body, almost no carbonation. Like drinking hard water in texture.

Found in a quick mart in Vientiane Laos, drank in Chiang Mai Sept 11th, 2015. Nice brew, not your typical Belgian, but like Juliper. Kind of what I imagine most modern Belgians are drinking in contrast to their grand parents generation.

Primus is the little known Belgian powerhouse that is new to the States. It routinely wins awards and I can see why. It has a very clean appearance and mouthfeel. I can't think of a better way to enter the Belgian category than with Primus. It's not overly yeasty, it has a slight clove and banana flavor, but it is not overly powerful. It has a very clean finish with slight biscuity flavor, but this outshines any other standard Belgian lager that I have had.

Clean and crisp taste to this beer. The bartender said that it outsold Stella in Belgium so i figured it was worth a try. Really surprised by this Belgium Lager - not overly yeasty - really nice dry hop touch in the middle with a clean bite at the end. I will keep an eye out for this one again.

This was a surprising, fresh and bright lager - superior to common Belgian lagers and a fine compliment to lunch or appetizers, since it doesn't overpower. The finish was clean and the mouthfeel very appealing, I will certainly look for it and enjoy it again!
