Skunky, even in a can. Disappointed by this beer and will not purchase again. Unfortunately the taste was skunky as well. Not very impressed with this beer.

I bought this beer on a whim and too my surprise, it is very average. Ok, I guess I didn't expect to be impressed. This stuff is horrible. It is pale yellow and has a sweet, hoppy aroma, but it is very processed. The same goes for the flavor. The malt is thin and the hops are present, but horribly bland and off tasting. BLAH! It is as bad as any Heineken could be, this crap is offensive.

a - Very pale not much head which disappear quickly. Coarse foam like US macro-brews.

s - Strong aroma when the bottle is first open but quickly fades to nothing

t - Simple, straightforwrd bitter with a strange aftertaste.

m - Coarse bubbles, unpleasantly foamy

d - Would drink it if it were the only thing available. Otherwise - wouldn't waste my money

This beer pours a clear light gold color. The head is a half in of bright white foam that recedes quickly into a small cap of lacing. The aroma is of corn with a slight sweetness. The taste is a touch sweeter than the aroma, but it is more of an adjunct sweetness than a malt sweetness. The mouthfeel is thin with a watery texture, and aggressive carbonation. Overall, this beer tastes more like an adjunct lager than a Dortmunder, and its not even a good adjunct lager. I can't see myself drinking this again.

Ah what can I say about this beer. It has a golden color with a nice white head. Smells of vegetables to me, slightly hard to smell. Not enjoyable of a scent. It has a bitter flavor but too much carbonation for me. I just find this beer to be kind of cheap tasting and not enjoyable.

A- very clear golden yellow with lots of rising bubbles and a puffy, slightly chunky white head that settles to a thick creamy disk and sticks around til the last drop and leaves plenty of wispy spatter patterned lace.

S- mildly skunkiness goes away after a few minutes. citrus hop aromas, maybe some lemon pith, and lightly toasted cereal grains. hay, grass, and cooked asparagus.

T- pretty good and bitter throughout, but the finish is rather generic and yucky. pale buttery grains, hay and cardboard, cooked greens, and some metallic flavors mid-way. odd, almost chemical bitterness finishes it off and i can't help but make a weird face when i drink it.

MF- light and prickly, but with a odd starch feeling that kinda matches the weird bitterness in the finish.

D- strange brew. something not right about this one. i would have assumed maybe it was stored improperly, but i'm an optimist. unpleasant finish is a downfall, but at least it looks good.

Poured a pale golden color, clear, with good carbonation, moderate head that faded to some spotty lacing. There's a malty quality to the smell, but there is something off about it that I just can't place, along with a spicy hop bit to the nose. The skunky smell that I first noticed when I opened the bottle is now gone.

A bit of malt flavor to the taste, but it's woefully lacking, and has a bit of that off taste from the smell, but I still can't place it. Can't find the hops, either. Tastes watered down, as well, with a thin, unimpressive mouthfeel.

All in all, I'm glad I didn't buy a six pack of this beer. Just seems lacking all around, and not impressive in the least.

A: Poured from a bottle to a pilsener glass. Had a golden yellow color and a clear texture. A fair amount of head here.

S: Slightly skunky, with traces of light hops and citrus, but little else.

T: Some hops, lemon, but mainly a thin, watery quality. Left a bitter aftertaste.

M: A below average amount of carbonation and a slick finish. Medium-bodied.

D: This beer is wholly uninteresting. Very little personality to speak of. Pass.

330ml bottle poured into a 16oz pint glass.

A - Pours an average pale lager yellow with a fizzy white head and lots of carbonation on the glass.

S - Pretty typical lager. Barley can be made out, with a nice bready base to it. A touch of grassy hops can be made out as well. Simple but unoffensive.

T - Starts out alright, with some barley malt and bready notes, but quickly gives way to green-bottle-skunk and some mild grassy hops. Finishes a little stale and musty. Metallic aftertaste lingers. Not pleasant.

M - Thin body, bordering on watery. Overdone carbonation. While not good, in the end it's pretty typical of the style. A light, peculiar film builds up on my tongue from it as well.

D - While the green bottle certainly played a role in me not enjoying this beer, I can't imagine it was all that spectacular to begin with. Skunked or not, this a sub-par for even a lager. Musty and stale, and basically devoid of any flavor other than skunk. Oh well.

Type of beer I wouldn't normally seek out and but was given to me by a family member during the holidays. Pours with little head, semi-see through golden color to it. Aroma is a bit musky.. maybe this one is a bit dated. Taste lacks any carbonation, starting to think this is a tainted bottle. Typical mass-exported Euro Lager taste to it, light bodied and pretty tasteless except for a weak Euro hop kick to it at the end. Pretty sure I wouldn't enjoy this one even if it wasn't super fresh, look elsewhere for a nice import.

A: Clear gold colored brew with somewhat active carbonation. Soapy white head has OK retention. Leaves bits of lace.

S: Very mild. Grass, lemon and a faint biscuit aroma.

T: Somewhat sweet with a lemony and slightly metallic bitterness. Strong cooked cabbage taste in the finish ruins an otherwise pleasant experience. Bad bottle perhaps?

M: Light body with too much fizz.

D: The unpleasant finish killed the experience for me. I really hope I had a bad sample.

A: Light Golden Color. Two finger head.

S: Very faint wheat smell.

T: A watered down wheat taste. Not a very deep taste. The after taste is the same as the initial taste.

M: Medium carbonation. Very light on the tongue.

O: I'm not impressed by the "Beer of world fame." It's not bad don't get me wrong. It's better than most domestic beers but the taste leaves something to be desired.

Pale yellow with thick foamy head laden with huge bubbles. A whiff of this reminded me of the beerflies that used to land in my beer when I lived in Montreal. They would drown and make the beer taste funny. That's how I knew one flew in (they weren't necessarily beerflies but thats what we called them since they always ended up in our beer). It's a very weird smell grainy, malty and drowned insecty.

I don't like the taste of this one. Not a surprise given that smell. Leaves a sugary coating on the tongue in the afterwash. Not a beer for me.

This is what I would call the average beer. Bland, plain, but thirst quenching and nothing really to complain about. Pours a clear, pale yellow. But, it's got a beautiful head. Thick and foamy, with lace sticking to the glass. Smells, well, plain. Malt and hops. That's about it. Nothing really pops out. Taste is a bit watery, but their is a malty taste to it. Just not much. Hops are dull. Hop extract, maybe? And not much. Mouthfeel is thin and watery. Drinkable as a quaffer. A lawnmower beer.

I've had this beer several times with the result being the same every time.
The appearance is very nice. Golden yellow with a thick frothy head that has serious staying power.
The aroma is skunk. Plain and simple. The same for the taste. There was a strong malt presence with a funny hop flavour.
I really don't like Dab. I have had it now about five times and had the same results every time. No more please.

Pours gold/amber wtih a large fading head.
Nose shows hay and light malt with a hint of floral hops. Very light on.
Similar flavours but even fainter. Lots more straw/hay flavours.
Carbonation could be higher.
Pretty boring... I seem to remember this having more honey notes last time round...

Golden crystal colored beer with a nice compact white foam that lingers for a while.Malty and bready aroma, a hint of sweet candies can be smelled. It tastes malty, bready but a bit of acidity is present wich I find not very pleasant.Bitterness is balanced.Light-medium bodied refreshing beer, nothing special at all.

I bought a Mix & Match 6-pack at Badger Spirits in Beloit, WI for $8.99.

Pours a very clear plae yellow color and a white head of foam that sticks around til about the first sip and that's it. With it's green bottle and scent, it reminds me a lot of Heineken. The scent hints at cheap grassy grains. Taste is rather bland and light in texture. You get a little grain taste but that's about it. Rather simple finish as well. Something new to try but that's about all.

Had this from a gift pack of German beers that a friend got me for christmas one year. This lager is on the more hardy side, it's got a nice amount of grains in the flavor. The hops are almost there, it's got a little more bitter than a pilsner. Golden in color, nice head for a little while. Some light lacing on the glass. Not a terrible beer.

Been a hot summer here in NYC and the longer it's been going the more I've found German and Czech lagers to be the best quenchers.

Saw a 6 pack of DAB Pounder Cans on special, never had it, what the hell...

Pored into a .4l Glass Mug

A - Very Active, almost no head, color is a dark yellow, a bit strange, almost like a red bull.

S - soft on the hops, grassy malt, faint alcohol, best trait of the beer for me

T - Bitter finish that doesn't really have any crisp hop taste, almost all malt, boring, bland

M - a bit chewy for me, really could use a snappy finish

O - Nothing special here, guess it's alright to just watch a game with, but I won't get it again

This beer pours a clear, gold color which opens for an aroma of citrus and dough. The flavor is citrus fruit, grassy hops and some vanilla sweetness from the malt. It's got a medium mouthfeel and is quite drinkable. Dortmunder DAB Original is an okay beer, recommended.

a- can poured into a tasting pint, clear bright yellow coloring, one fingers worth of head that fades semi quickly leaving decent lacing.

s- corny, grainy, slightly sweet - not the best start.

t- eachos the nose, the finish is dry, i'm getting a slightly metallic note - also got this note from a bottle so i know it wasn't from the can. there are a kiss of hop bitterness in the finish, but thats about the only redeeming quality here.

m- light in the mouth.

d- there isn't anything special here, glad to have tried it, but if i want a solid dortmunder i'll go for a gl dortmunder gold.

Eh, that's my opinion of this beer, "eh". I guess I was expecting the "famous dortmunder style" to have more well style. It is a very light, thin tasting beer very similiar to a Heineken, using that I assume to be the same hops. If you like Heineken, you will like this. If you don't, you won't. I don't and I didn't.
