Tiger was born on the hot streets of Singapore – the tropical island city state – a busy trading destination and melting pot of Asian, Indian, and British influences and culture. The ‘tropical lagering’ process brews a bravely creative and unpretentious lager. The result is the intensely refreshing, full-bodied taste of one of the world’s fastest growing premium beers.

This one was drunk early in my flight from Melbourne to Singapore on September 2023. Is there anything better than that first beer on a long-awaited flight, regardless of how good the beer is?

L: Light, washed-out yellow. Bright White head. Lots of carbonation.

S: Sweet malt, perhaps some corn. Typical Asian lager smell.

T: Sweet, grassy, mildly bitter. Retronasal bitterness lingers, finish is long and sweet.

M: Mouthfeel is soft, carbonation is minimal.

O: There's not denying this would would be nice on a hot Singapore day, but otherwise unremarkable and avoided if possible!

Cheers!

More bad beer at this party. At least it was cold. Still couldn't finish it.

I know it’s bad, but it’s a taste I just haven’t found elsewhere and as such has some nostalgic qualities for me. The colder the better and well suited for the local cuisine.

Pure dogshit, bad texture and mouthfeel, pungent taste. I still can't get over the idea of half of the alcohol consumer of my country (just my guestimation vouched for this brand. Like dude, with the same price, just go for something better.

For reasons that are completely unclear to me, this crappy lager is very popular in Southeast Asia. So thought I should order a bottle at a restaurant in Hoi-An last night.

The beer pours the expected golden amber color with a white frothy head and light lacing. Head retention is fair at best. On the nose, I really don't get much of anything. Maybe some black pepper and some cereal grains, along with some faint sandalwood. Mouthfeel is more of the same in this very light and watery beer. The finish (what there is of it) is fairly dry with minimal bitterness. Alcohol is very well integrated into the flavor profile. I know it's only 5%, but I would have guessed it was even lower than that. So I guess this beer would be good for washing down salty or spicy food. It really is pretty watery stuff.

This beer was so lousy that I ended up getting a Heineken after a bottle of this stuff (it was the only other option at the restaurant). The heinie sucked as well, but it was slightly better than the Tiger beer. Would not order this beer ever again.

500ml can purchased in canada. full bodied and flavourful but not very good overall. a lot of flavour for a lager, but the flavour just isn't good. not a lot of carbonation. Has a bit of a gasoline aroma and taste especially when it warms up a bit, sort of reminiscent of a malt liquor.
