The best part about this beer is probably the maltiness in the taste and the after taste.
The last time I recalled this sweetness which seemed less pronounced this time in the can.
But the alcoholism in the brew is very obvious and outstanding, fully living the 8.8 ABV.
The looks was average with poor head retention and overly high carbonation. Taste is
strongly malty, strongly alcoholic and subtlely sweet. I do not like the sweetness in this
case and even more so dislike the alcoholism which stands out too much. It was a kind of
different experience from when I had this beer in its bottled form. The malty after taste
lingers and that was good but still I would not choose this beer; the can I had and shared
with someone was more of a left over can in the office.

Had it at Singapore Airport, very sweet, and pretty awful. Hints of fruit (perhaps peach), but its all killed too quickly by the the alcohol, which is way too evident, sure is a punch in the head (in terms of alcoholic strenght). But it is way too sickly, i reckon it would be OK, if the ABV was lower.

500ml aluminum pull-tab can @ Changing Airport. 8.80% ABV.

Hoppier than anticipated, but it's all Noble (grassy and a bit floral). Graininess gets drowned out by the sticky sweet malt extract that dominates this simple shallow build.

To its credit, it hides its alcohol well. Unfortunately, there is some metallic off-flavour that bleeds in.

Unrefreshing, smooth, wet, syrupy, overly thick.

Swill best left for the budget crowd or for intoxication only. I've had worse, though, and I'd figure it for European in a blind tasting.

D (2.11) / AVOID

A - low head disappears in seconds. Deep clear apple juice color

S - no smells just a mild hoppyness. Stale hay smells. Mild maltiness but probably just wistful thinking.

T - crystal malts and alcohol burn. Not much else.

M - syrupy and thick but lots of sting. Did I mention there's a lot of burn with this beer.

D - hmm good for getting drunk I suppose, and better than a lot of the cheap canned Asian beers that are various kinds of adjunct pilsners etc. It's fine. It's not bad. But nothing to go out of your way for.

Can from a supermarket in Singapore. From notes.

A - Really light golden/straw colour. Bright. Good carbonation. One finger white head gone fast. No lace, no retention.

S - Honey, sweet grain, apple juice, mild hop, pear. Not really like a beer.

T - Quite malty. Odd apple juice flavour. Quite sweet. Pear and apple. Sweet grain. Wet cardboard. Lot's of alcohol as it warms.

M - Good carbonation, medium to full oily body and a sweet finish.

O/D - Not really pleasant. Awfully sweet and not something to keep in the mouth too long. Harsh alcohol makes it difficult to drink.
