12 ounce can - $1.69 at Total Wine & More in Greenville, South Carolina.

Canned MAR/14/15.

Appearance: Fairly clear, straw-hued yellowish body with a small, short-lived, white head.

Smell: A little sniff of sweetish cereal grains, candied lemon, faint spice and a hint of yeast.

Taste: A light, cereal maltiness, a bit on the sweet side. Spicy, floral hops, restrained, as is its imparted bitterness with just a hint of fruitiness to it. Remains sweet for the finish.

Mouthfeel: Light-bodied. Medium carbonation.

Overall: I would've hoped for something a little less sweet and a little more crisp.

With a whiff of skunkishness as soon as the cap came off, this one worried me - was I getting some awful Heinie knockoff?

But it turns out the skunky note up front was actually rather pleasant - reminded me of high school madness - and it finished with a toasty, well rounded flavor. The combo was great.

This was a bit of a let down with a stale barley malt and some Pilsner and cereal grains. Very stale malt to a point where I thought it was past its prime, though it was told to me that it was a new keg.

Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass.
Aroma- Has some grain and hops but does has a slight skunk aroma.
Appearance- Pours an amber color with a large white head.
Taste- Not very good to me, has a heavy grain flavor with an odd yeast aftertaste.
Palate- A medium bodied beer with moderate carbonation This beer has a dry finish.
Overall- I did not care for this beer at all, in fact i haven't found a Palmetto product that I am very fond of. There are many Lagers out there that are better than this including the BMCs.

A: Dark yellow / pale gold and very clear. Loose white head drops to half its original size in about 90 seconds.
S: Crackery malt aroma up front with a hint of earthy/spicy hop aroma in the background. No aromatic flaws. Very slightly sulfury from pilsner malt (pleasant).
T: The first impression is of balance. Malt flavor and hop bitterness are very complimentary. Same cracker / light bread flavor from the malt with again the earthy spicy hop character to follow. Aftertaste leans to bitter, but not at all harsh, and still retaining some sweetness (perhaps slightly corny).
MF: Medium light bodied and quite carbonated. Somewhat prickly on the tongue. No alcohol warmth or creaminess. Produces loud crisp burps.
O: A well-built traditional beer. I bet others will knock it for not being extreme enough, but to me this is a very good example of an American interpretation of an old-world pilsner.

A- Pale amber body, slightly hazy, foamy white head that hangs around and leaves some lacing behind.

S- Grainy malts, some earthy hops, slight hints of lemony citrus. Slight hint of skunks ness to it as well that comes and goes.

T- Lots of sweet grainy flavors, hints of lemony hops come through, but this one tastes a lot like sweet grainy water. Very few pilsner-like qualities.

M- Medium-light body, tastes somewhat dirty, medium carbonation.

O- Not sure if this one is incorrectly listed as a Czech pilsner, but it tastes like a slightly heavy euro lager. Drinkability is decent, but the aroma and taste leave a lot to be desired.

Poured this Czech Pilsener from a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass. Poured a hazy golden color, produced an average head, nice retention, and it left a nice amount of lacing on the glass. The aroma consisted of fresh baked bread, and some slight notes of lemon citrus. Light in body, this Pilsener is quite refreshing and crisp. Very nice mouthfeel, plenty of malted grain some earthy hop qualities. Very nice session beer, would make for a great summer beer- a lot more flavor then a macro brewed lager.

A - Pours with one finger of white foam on top of a clear, light copper colored body. The head fades away quickly and leaves average lace.

S - Fruity malt with a hint of caramel and some spicy hops in the background.

T - Thick, bready malt up front with some toasty notes. A surprisingly strong hop character shows up in the middle with notes of pine, grapefruit, and some floral notes. The beer finishes with equal parts toffee malt and floral hops as well as moderate bitterness.

M - Medium body, moderately high carbonation, and a well balanced finish.

D - Very good, lots of malt and hop character as well as a smooth lager finish. Almost like a pale ale and really quite good for what it is.

12 oz bottle at 42 degrees into a pint glass.

A: It pours a clear copper color with a finger and a half of quickly dying white head.

S: Caramel and bread malts, graininess, and metallic notes.

T: Light fruitiness, some wet grains, and some sour metallic notes.

M: It has a medium-light body with average carbonation.

O: This is better than a typical macro lager but nothing to write home about.

A: The beer is clear golden yellow in color and poured with a finger high white head that quickly faded away leaving only a ring of bubbles around the edge of the glass. A very light amount of carbonation is visible.
S: There are aromas of bready and grainy malts in the nose.
T: The overall taste is quite malty and has some notes of bitterness from the hops.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and is a litte filling from all of the malts. A moderate amount of carbonation is evident.
D: This beer is quite sessionable and well-suited for drinking on a hot summer day.

This beer is a michelob lager clone, which was quite a shock.

In a bottle, it looks like any lager, so that is tough indicator.

It smells like carbonation, with a hint of beer skunk.

This beer was nearly identical to michelob's lager, which isn't the worst thing in the world, but michelob can make it cheaper and distribute it to any place on earth, so this brewery needs to up the flavor to maintain a competitve edge.

It would have been fairly drinkable on a hot day, if I was thirsty, but the taste was something I didn't care to re-experience.

Got a bottle of this on vacation in Charleston. Reminds me of good times.

Pours a honey color with a 2 finger head that fades quickly leaving no lacing.

Smell is very bready and almost sour. No hops at all.

Taste is lightly hopped and heavy on the bread. Not too much happening. Very much like a standard lager taste.

Mouthfeel is nice, gently prickly and medium-light body.

Drinkability is good. Its unlike what I usually drink so I could drink more than one.

Appearance: Pour a clear golden color with a rocky head that leaves a few squiggles of lace down the sides of the pint glass

Smell: Grainy aroma with some lager twang

Taste: Bready, up front, with some developing sweet and grainy aspects that appear by mid-palate; after the swallow, the lager twang arrives though the finish has a surprising amount of toffee sweetness

Mouthfeel: Light to medium body with low carbonation

Drinkability: A bit too sweet for my palate, but certainly an acceptable brew

Appearance: Pours a sparkling pale amber, with quite a bit of haze and a finger or quickly dissipating head. Numerous streams of fine bubbles move to the top of the glass. Quite a bit of carbination is evident, and doesn't look like it will stop anytime soon. Lacing, like head retention, is poor.

Smell: Sweet, wheat and fruit notes, particularly grapes, present. Not very complex. There's kind of a funky bitter smell too that I can't quite put my finger on/

Taste: Again, not very complex. Light hops and heavy bread.

Mouthfeel: Flat. There is something really strange going on with the carbonation--it seems from appearance and from burping after drinking to be a very gassy beer, but at the same time, its like the carbonation is doing nothing for it. Flat flavors, flat feel.

Drinkability: Not awful, but not anything special, either. Almost like a beer pong beer, really, though not cheap enough for that.

My girlfriend got this for me and I poured it into a pint glass.
Appearance: The body is a clear golden color. The head is one finger tall, white in color, small sized bubbles, poor retention and thin lacing.
Smell: The aromas are sweet, grapes and wheat.
Taste: The flavors are a bit tart, bread and earthy hops.
Mouthfeel: The mouthfeel is very crisp.
Drinkability: This is a very drinkable beer.
Don't drink and review.

Thanks azurelimits for this one. Small capped bottle poured into a pint glass.

Light golden in color, average white head, some retention, little to no lacing.
Aroma, just like the flavors, is subtle and not particularly complex; some malty sweetness with cookie notes, minimal grassy hoppiness.
A decent, simple brew.

this is like a reverse mullet beer...
too much party (sweetness) up front, too much business (metallic and mineral flavors) in the back.
i was on vacation and i really wanted to like this one, but it's like the water they brewed it with was laden with things i really don't want to be consuming (or they used an odd yeast or i dunno what).

m: low-med carb (needs more) light medium body

t: pale grain flavor with a clean hop flavor and light bitterness...pretty standard but not bad, finish could be cleaner

d: drinks easily, enjoyable in the heat

Thought I'd pick up a local beer as I've never had one before.

Poured from a bottle into a pilsener glass. Had no real head to speak of at all. The color was a light yellow with a cloudy texture.

There wasn't much smell about this one. The hops were most prevalent.

The taste wasn't too bad. Although I'm not a huge fans of overly hopped beer, this aspect worked for this beer. It was a solid, zesty taste.

There wasn't a whole lot of carbonation, so it didn't give much pop to the beer.

Even though this is an uneven beer, it's still somewhat drinkable. It had a more complex taste than I was expecting. Not bad.

Slightly hazy straw color with a nice white head. Lacing was non-evident as the head faded to a thin layer.

Aroma of lightly kilned malts and noble hops.

Taste is similar. Bready malt flavor with a bitter hop finish. Does not finish very clean.

Light bodied, nicely carbonated, and highly drinkable.

Picked up a sixer out of curiosity while on vacation.
Drank on the beach at hilton head.
Beer pours a very light, golden color. Very clear and clean looking.
Not much head or lacing but well carbonated for sure.
In my opinion, for the style, this one stood out.
decent nose, with a slight malty biscuit aroma pushing through the sweet hoppiness.
Mouthfeel and flavor were very strong in my opinion for a lager of this type.
Good beer for sure.

Had to try another Palmetto, alway..

A - Poured a deep hazy golden yellow, with a modest white fizzy head and a decent side lace. Head faded quickly and only left behind a slight ring. Lots of visible carbonation bubbling upto the surface thoughout the session, very lively looking,

S - Very light, lots of grain. A small off hoppy smell, and a bit of a bread like hint.

T - Light, enjoyable. Your typical lager but with a bit more of an earthy grain punch, and a deeper tone to it. Definatly not too watered down.

M - Smooth, a bit slick to be honest, but not too bad.

D - Went down very easy and smooth, could easily e an all night drinker.

Overall a very quality session beer from palmetto. I could drink this as a regular. Very easy and very smooth. Nothing to spectacular or unique, just a quality lager that was brewed for that purpose.

A - pours a hazy yellow color, white head that quickly dissipates
S - lightly malty, strong lager yeast and a touch of hops
T - similar to the smell. Dominated by the lager yeast.
M - light bodied, nicely carbonated and crisp
D - I could see this being a tangy summer party lager as a nice choice in a cooler with a few other ales. The drinkability for this to me goes up with the heat index and BBQ factor.

I brought this back north after trip to S.C.
It poured nice yellow and brownish; smells of wheat and powdery malts; the taste was much better than the smell; refreshing but not super clean at the end; nice malty hop twang, a touch of dark bread flavor adn macro type sweetness;

I would certainly go for this out of a freezing cooler on a hot day in South Carolina.

Pours a bright golden yellow.

Faint smell, but not a suprise for this type of beer.

The beer has a really nice taste. It is not too strong nor too weak. It is more malty than anything, but that would be given with the name.

Has a good mouthfeel, and a good body that has some substance too it.

This beer had good drinkability. It would be a good choice as a nice beer you can have a few of without feeling really full.
