A: The beer is clear golden yellow in color and poured with a finger high white head that quickly faded away leaving only a ring of bubbles around the edge of the glass. A very light amount of carbonation is visible.
S: There are aromas of bready and grainy malts in the nose.
T: The overall taste is quite malty and has some notes of bitterness from the hops.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and is a litte filling from all of the malts. A moderate amount of carbonation is evident.
D: This beer is quite sessionable and well-suited for drinking on a hot summer day.

Appearance: Pour a clear golden color with a rocky head that leaves a few squiggles of lace down the sides of the pint glass

Smell: Grainy aroma with some lager twang

Taste: Bready, up front, with some developing sweet and grainy aspects that appear by mid-palate; after the swallow, the lager twang arrives though the finish has a surprising amount of toffee sweetness

Mouthfeel: Light to medium body with low carbonation

Drinkability: A bit too sweet for my palate, but certainly an acceptable brew

The last of the trifecta of Palmetto beers tried, poured a nice light golden with a pretty big frothy-like head, aromas are pretty grainy with a light citrusy fruitiness but pretty muted.Very refreshing lager with some nice qualities to it some definant graininess and a touch of iron finishing with a just a light amount of bitterness.A smooth easy "sociable" lager great for get togethers, maybe something to give a macro swill drinker so they can taste a true lager beer.Well done.

A - Pours with one finger of white foam on top of a clear, light copper colored body. The head fades away quickly and leaves average lace.

S - Fruity malt with a hint of caramel and some spicy hops in the background.

T - Thick, bready malt up front with some toasty notes. A surprisingly strong hop character shows up in the middle with notes of pine, grapefruit, and some floral notes. The beer finishes with equal parts toffee malt and floral hops as well as moderate bitterness.

M - Medium body, moderately high carbonation, and a well balanced finish.

D - Very good, lots of malt and hop character as well as a smooth lager finish. Almost like a pale ale and really quite good for what it is.

12 ounce can - $1.69 at Total Wine & More in Greenville, South Carolina.

Canned MAR/14/15.

Appearance: Fairly clear, straw-hued yellowish body with a small, short-lived, white head.

Smell: A little sniff of sweetish cereal grains, candied lemon, faint spice and a hint of yeast.

Taste: A light, cereal maltiness, a bit on the sweet side. Spicy, floral hops, restrained, as is its imparted bitterness with just a hint of fruitiness to it. Remains sweet for the finish.

Mouthfeel: Light-bodied. Medium carbonation.

Overall: I would've hoped for something a little less sweet and a little more crisp.

Lightly hazy marigold with sunshine yellow edges. The minimally jaundiced, bone white cap tells me immediately that this is a quality microbrew. It's stronger on persistence than on lace, although a short collar keeps things respectable.

It can't quite put my finger on the reason, but this is a more enjoyable nose than I usually find on all-malt lagers. It's lightly sweet and fresh grain-like, with musky, faintly floral hops. It may not sound like much, but it's a good combination that leads me to think that the flavor will be equally as good.

Palmetto Lager isn't outstanding on the palate and favors simple over complex (no suprise, given the style). Having said that, it's a competent, comforting little drinker all the same. Other than a modest sweetness, there's very little flavor contribution from the malt. The hoppiness is on the low end as well. The hops taste more German than American or English.

There's little, if any, deterioration with warming. Mostly because the flavor isn't flying high to begin with. During the short finish, the beer turns from modestly sweet to crisp and dry. The light-medium mouthfeel is slightly better than average on a good day. This is an obvious session brew as long as amazing flavor isn't high on one's list of gotta-haves.

I don't like Palmetto Lager nearly as much as I like Palmetto Porter, but that's probably the style difference talking. This is an uncomplicated, uncluttered, ultimately uninteresting lager whose quality I can, nevertheless, appreciate. Bottom line: it's a good, regional, 'wash down a burger' kind of brew that deserves some measure of respect. Thanks to WOLFGANG for the bottle.

Pretty average lager...not their best beer, but easy to drink and better than a bud light.

Had to try another Palmetto, alway..

A - Poured a deep hazy golden yellow, with a modest white fizzy head and a decent side lace. Head faded quickly and only left behind a slight ring. Lots of visible carbonation bubbling upto the surface thoughout the session, very lively looking,

S - Very light, lots of grain. A small off hoppy smell, and a bit of a bread like hint.

T - Light, enjoyable. Your typical lager but with a bit more of an earthy grain punch, and a deeper tone to it. Definatly not too watered down.

M - Smooth, a bit slick to be honest, but not too bad.

D - Went down very easy and smooth, could easily e an all night drinker.

Overall a very quality session beer from palmetto. I could drink this as a regular. Very easy and very smooth. Nothing to spectacular or unique, just a quality lager that was brewed for that purpose.

Thought I'd pick up a local beer as I've never had one before.

Poured from a bottle into a pilsener glass. Had no real head to speak of at all. The color was a light yellow with a cloudy texture.

There wasn't much smell about this one. The hops were most prevalent.

The taste wasn't too bad. Although I'm not a huge fans of overly hopped beer, this aspect worked for this beer. It was a solid, zesty taste.

There wasn't a whole lot of carbonation, so it didn't give much pop to the beer.

Even though this is an uneven beer, it's still somewhat drinkable. It had a more complex taste than I was expecting. Not bad.

Golden with a nice ivory head and good carbonation which leaves good lace. Nice grainy malt aroma and flavor with a nice hop balance to finish. Medium bodied and smooth. Much richer mouthfeel than the macros.

A quality American Lager and well above the mass produced swill. A great session beer for summer. One of Palmetto's better brews.

A- Pale amber body, slightly hazy, foamy white head that hangs around and leaves some lacing behind.

S- Grainy malts, some earthy hops, slight hints of lemony citrus. Slight hint of skunks ness to it as well that comes and goes.

T- Lots of sweet grainy flavors, hints of lemony hops come through, but this one tastes a lot like sweet grainy water. Very few pilsner-like qualities.

M- Medium-light body, tastes somewhat dirty, medium carbonation.

O- Not sure if this one is incorrectly listed as a Czech pilsner, but it tastes like a slightly heavy euro lager. Drinkability is decent, but the aroma and taste leave a lot to be desired.
