Some IPAs are rough, but this one has a nice balance. I like the taste of the hops in this, and it lingers on the tongue. It's listed as 7.7% ABV, but it doesn't feel that strong drinking it. I'm a big fan of Great Lakes Brewing Co, and this is a good go-to for bold flavor. It's great with pizza, also good with tacos.

L: Beautiful golden orange hue; not much in the way of head.
S: A fine combination of bready malt and citrus.
T: Very well balanced. Sharp grapefruit taste is restrained by the sweetness of malt. Neither overpowers the other; they harmoniously coexist on the palate.
F: A great alternative to more hoppy IPAs.
O: Many of the reviews of this completely miss the point. This is an ENGLISH IPA; it not meant to be a hop bomb, but rather to have the restraint and balance that I described above (restraint does NOT mean a lack of flavor). This beer is underrated by the aggregate score.

This IPA is English in style and boasts more malt and less hops than American IPAs. Pours out copper-amber in color and translucent lacking robust head and lacing. One tastes the bread like flavors first. The brew finishes with a mild bitterness. This has more of the grassy like flavor and aroma of English beers offer than citrusy and more biting American ones. Medium bodied and smooth with bready aftertaste that lingers on the palate. Not bad.

Has the solid orange American ipa kind of appearance with 1" of white head. Aroma didn't kick me much in the way of hops, I get this is an English ipa, so oh well.

Taste had plenty of bitterness, has me wondering why it didn't come across in the nose, I guess aroma hops aren't really the noble and Euro strength. Probably my least favorite Great Lakes beer, it was kind of all over the place.

My sniffer ain't great but I smell apricots. It's kind of like Torpedo but with less head. Very smooth drinkability. I'm proud to know this comes from Ohio.

This beer has a nice amber and clear look with some carbonation visible. For my tastes, this beer is on the malty and somewhat syrupy side, and so it isn't something that I normally enjoy in an IPA.

Amber color and with minimal head that dissipates quickly, albeit leaving nice lacing behind. Nose is surprisingly malty for an IPA, especially a fresh one. Not too bitter and in fact somewhat balanced. Mouthfeel is where this beer wins. Lovely smoothness on the tongue. Flavor lingers on the tongue for quite some time. Not my go-to IPA but it has its virtues.
